Conferences using Manager API
Hi all, I am trying to setup a three party conference using the Asterisk Manager API. I am using the Redirect action over an established two party call. The procedure I am using is to try to redirect the two existing channels to a third party. I would expect this to connect both channels to the third party. However, one of the two parties gets disconnected. Is this the expected behavior? Is there

Clustering Meetme over multiple boxes?
Has anyone here done any work on clustering Meetme conferences over multiple Asterisk boxes? The scenario I am thinking of is where there are two or more boxes connected to a set of PRIs that all answer to the same PSTN number, and where it's not possible to know in advance on which box a call would arrive. So it would be possible to have some calls on one box and some on another, that should

Dialout Conferences?
How do I set up an existing call to dial out to a new terminal which is included in a conference with the two existing legs of the call? When the dialplan executes the Dial(<terminal>) command, control does not return to the dialplan until the terminal disconnects, after which it's obviously too late to conference it. Is there a conference command or option that lets the dialplan dial

Redirect two channels to each other?
I've been scratching my head trying to think of a way to do this, but without success yet. I'm using the Manager API. If I have two channels linked to each other (i.e. direct connection), or even if they are independent channels, I can transfer them both to the same extension by using Action: Redirect and using Channel: for one and ExtraChannel: for the other. This is most useful for

Meetme define context
Hi All, I'm still having trouble trying to figure out if it is possible to define (in the dial plan) a context for meetme? I'm using 1.4.4 with dialplan logic of: exten => 123,1,Meetme(,Msa,) This defaults to conferences defined within the rooms context of meetme.conf Is it possible to specify another context as with voicemail? Or can any one think of another

New system for recording - SCSI, SAS or SATA?
I'm in the process of specifying the hardware for some new Asterisk systems which will be running a substantial number of conferences with recording. I was wondering what there is to choose between SCSI, SAS and SATA disks, in terms of performance for this kind of application. I will be using dual drives with kernel-based software RAID1. Any advice from experience would be appreciated!

delays with IAX2 and Meetme
Hi there I am using IAX2 softphones dialing into meetme conferences. I also have jitterbuffer=yes, with typical jitterbuffer settings. The problem I am having is that as soon as there is a delay from a participant, then the delay continues until the participant hangs up and dials in again. When dialing in again the delay seems to go. It seems to me as though as soon as the server registers

meetme sounds
I am playing around with dynamic meetme conferences, and wanted to have one person constantly in the conference, with calls "popping in and out". Is there an option / any way of playing enter / leave sounds to the person who created the conference only, and not the people leaving / joining ? TIA Julian.

Can Ztdummy be used in production environment
Hi there I have been using Asterisk Meetme with Ztdummy for timing. It seems to work fine and I haven't had any major problems. I am now moving into a production environment and am wondering if it is better to use a Zaptel card? Are there any problems with Ztdummy? I will probably have around 30 concurrent users in different conferences. Many thanks Steven -------------- next part

MeetMe announcements and SIP channels
Just curious if anyone knows of any hacks to enable announce entry/exit in MeetMe conferences with SIP (as opposed to ZAP) channels since the |i option will not work with SIP. Thanks, Mike

MeetMe Listen Only flag (|m)
One of the features that I thought would be popular with the Web-MeetMe suite is the ability to start all non-admin callers in a muted state and selectively unmute them. For example any large conference that is of an announcment nature with a Q&A session. It's probably a feature I should have tested better, but I just discovered that a caller that is joined to a MeetMe with the |m flag

<<< MEETME_AGI_BACKGROUND inside MEET ME>>>
Howdie: I've been reading some old threads and still have a couple of questions about applying the AGI_BACKGROUND script inside a Conference. Perhaps someone can save me a bit of fidd'lin. Am I right in assuming that the MEETME_AGI_BACKGROUND script **WILL WORK** on SIP conferenced channels **WITHOUT** an **ACTIVE** zap channel-- AS LONG AS THERE IS A DIGIUM CARD INSTALLED IN THE

Strange text on Asterisk console
I've just set up a new box with FC1+updates and the latest Stable Asterisk from CVS. Asterisk is started with the default safe_asterisk script with a console on TTY9. The coloured text on this console is made up of weird characters instead of normal. Please see http://www.softins.co.uk/dsc00018.jpg for an example. If I do "asterisk -rvvvvv" on a normal login, either via the

No voice in MeetMe for SIP with AGI_BACKGROUND
Hello List, I have seen from the following link that, for SIP channels there is no audio communication possible in MeetMe with AGI_BACKGROUND. http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/Asterisk+cmd+MeetMe Currently we are using asterisk-1.6.2 and the problem still persists. Is there any solution available to overcome this problem? According to our requirement, we have to run an AGI script in MeetMe.

Background asynchronous AGI
I have been writing a lot of AGI programs in C with good success. I would like somehow to have an AGI program continue in the background while the pbx execution returns to the dialplan and continues. Is this possible? I was thinking that perhaps I could fork or create another thread within the AGI prog. The reason I want to do so is in order to monitor external information (e.g. credit limit and
