similar to: Asterisk - Spandsp Fax not working?

Hi There. I have the following setup : Asterisk 1.2.4 , freePBX 2.0.1, spandsp-0.0.2pre24 My problem is as follows : If I set up a very simple extensions.conf. when I dial from a fax machine, it seems as if no fax is being recognised. If I answer the call, I can hear the fax machine beeping. extensions.conf :

the attached log with verbose=6 and debug=6 refers. we've got a sangoma A104 (no hwec) with PRI ports 1 & 3 loopbacked to each other. we're trying to have txfax send out on one of those pri ports with rxfax listening on the other side, hence having asterisk send a fax to itself. we however have bad, and i mean really bad (<10%) success rates. we're currently using asterisk

I'm trying to figure out how to handle our fax line when we switch to our asterisk for voice. After a lot of reading and poking about I have concluded, as have many others it would seem, that the best thing to do is either to have a separate pstn fax line or use some sort of internet faxing service rather than try and make faxing work in a way it's not meant to over voip lines.
