enable eyeBeam to accept only one call
Hello I'm using eyeBeam, and Asterisk keeps sending my clients a second call, when they are still in one call (because eyeBeam has lots of channels). I was using X-Lite (with 3 channels) and Asterisk never sent the client a second call. How can I force Asterisk (or eyeBeam) just to send one call at each time. Is this a configuration I need to do in eyeBeam or Asterisk? Thanks Regards Joao

Internet Telephony, net2phone
As a newbie, can anyone advise me if Asterisk can route international calls to a US based service such as Net2Phone so we can take advantage of the internet and save on calls? That would be my main reason for an Asterisk based PBX. Chris Mason masonc@masonc.com Box 340, The Valley, Anguilla, British West Indies Tel: 264 497 5670 Fax: 264 497 8463 Cell: 264 235 5670

Dynamic updating DNS with win2K workstations
My office network has a RH 7.3 server running Bind 9, Samba, WINS for NetBIOS name resolution, ten+ Win2K workstations, and uses DHCP from the Linksys router to hand out IPs for the workstations. Is there any way to do dynamic DNS updates so that the workstations' IPs are tracked in DNS? Chris Mason masonc@masonc.com Box 340, The Valley, Anguilla, British West Indies Tel: 264 497 5670 Fax:

Name resolution problem, looking for advice on best solution
I have a Redhat 7.2 server for DNS, Web, File Sharing via Samba, for my SOHO network of 6 Win2K workstations. I have a workgroup, not a domain. The server is on a static IP and the workstations are DHCP assigned the Dlink gateway, which also tells them the DNS IP. I am having a problem where some of the workstations can see some of the others in Network Neighbourhood, but some can't. SMB

no mapping between account names and security ids was done
I use a openLDAP database for authentication on my Redhat 7.2 server. The domain is "HOME". I have had no problem adding trust accounts and authenticating against it. Today I had to change the name of my Win2K workstation from poseiden to poseiden1 for compatibility with a package I am testing. Once I changed it and put in a new trust account, I could not rejoin the domain. I gave up and

Fail over
For all my PBX installations I want to have Fail Over on the main incoming PSTN line so that a power outage does not leave the offices stranded. Is there any commercial solution to this? Upgrade RPM for redhat 9 to solve password change problem
My redhat 9 server is using samba-2.2.7a-8.9.0 - everything was fine until I recently tried to change the users password from his workstation, and got the famous "Domain is not available" error. I would like to upgrade the server's samba install but not anything else as everything on the server is stable and I can't have a lot of disruption if there are upgrade problems, which

client NT always asks for password
Hello Our NT workstations always ask for the password on each share of the samba server, although the password is the same as the log on password. Is there any way to avoid this ? The first try always fails on the server, but I don't what user/passwd combination NT uses on that first time... Deploying VoIP on a WAN
Hi, As many of you may know, we are undertaking several tests in order to test the interoperability between several PBX IP from different vendors. Until now, we were trusting that the VoIP IP PBX were good enough to be interconnected directly, however, one of the vendors have presented the "SBC" concept. The "SBC" (Session Border Controller) is not a new concept since we

dialplan defenition
Hello list, Im writing my dial plan, in witch every SIP phone begins with 74 and has more 3 numbers (like 74XXX). So, I want to route all 74XXX calls to my sip channel. For this I wrote this line: exten => s,1,Dial(SIP/74118@193.136.252.5,30,r) but this way all calls go to 74118@193.136.252.5 ..... Then I tried: exten => s,1,Dial(SIP/${EXTEN}@193.136.252.5,30,r) but this way, the

CDRs and billing
Hello I configured Asterisk to put CDRs in the database like it was explained in: www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/Asterisk+cdr+pgsql What I want to know is how do the billing solutions (like Asterisk2Billing) work with Asterisk. The billing system just use the information that Asterisk puts in the CDR table? Or they connect directly to Asterisk? Or is Asterisk that has, before the Dial command,

I ave a several windows 2K workstations in a local network, and I am using Samba 2.2.4 on a Redhat 7.2 server for file storage and DNS. LDAP - adding info to database
I have installed openldap and the samba.idealx.org ldap configuration and scripts, and now I have ldap authentication working wonderfully well. I'd like to be able to use the same ldap user database for other info such as phone numbers, email, etc, but I don't know how to add it or whether it is a good idea. Anyone done this? Snom or Cisco Phones?
Hello I need to buy IP Phones to work with Asterisk, and I'm in doubt between Snom and Cisco Phones. Can you gurus, please, give me your impression of these 2 brands? I need to focus more in SIP and Asterisk compatibility and less in pricing (yes, I know the Cisco are more expensive). Are there any features that Snom has, that Cisco doesnt? And are these features important? Thanks Joao
