chan_mobile
I'm trying to compile chan_mobile for asterisk 1.4
I've installed 1.4 from SVN and downloaded addons from SVN also. I
make ./configure, make menuconfig, select only chan_mobile, and make.
Then I obtain the following errors. (I've also tryed applying the
patches I found at http://www.chan-mobile.org/?page_id=5 but with no
better results.

Chan_mobile issue
Hello,
I just did a fresh svn install of 1.4 trunk everything. Everything
compiles and installs just fine.
When I get to asterisk-addons, I cannot select chan_mobile in
menuselect.
Chan_mobile is not even an option in menuselect for asterisk trunk.
I tried the latest patch which failed in many places but did add an
option for chan_mobile in menuselect for asterisk but it still cannot be

What is the status and future of chan_mobile
I have been looking forward for months to get chan_mobile working. I am
limited to using prepackaged Asterisk code, mostly Trixbox.
I have recently heard that chan_mobile is considered 'beta' and there is
no effort to move it into the main code of Asterisk. Not even for
Asterisk 1.6.
So what is the future for chan_mobile? It is easy to make a very strong
case for a cellular trunk.

chan_mobile and hardphones?
Hi,
I have configured a certified asterisk 13 server with chan_mobile and
res_pjsip. I have a Cisco 7940 hardphone and I use ekiga as softphone
client.
Now the problem is, using the hardphone I'm able to call the softphone
and hear everything properly. But when I call from the hardphone to some
number that has to be dialed via chan_mobile, I'm not able to hear what
the other side says (I

chan_mobile and DTMF
Hello list,
I recently started testing the chan_mobile addon and after a successful
installation and configuration I have a couple of problems that I can't fix
without your help.
I am using opensuse 11.1, asterisk 1.6.1 with bluez 4.22 (installed from rpm
packages) and a Nokia N80 phone. Apparently all works fine except the DTMF.
Seems impossible to catch DTMF when nothing (no song) is

Latest chan_mobile
Hello,
I recently updated my asterisk-addons-1.6.2 to the last revision and I have
this problem that I don't know how to interpret, bug or not. I connected a
Nokia N80 phone to use chan_mobile and everything works great until the
phone starts getting disconnected after the call finished and sometimes
during the call attempt.
Is this a bug or a possible known issue for Nokia phones?

*Sort of Commercial* TracFone's $45 unlimited offer to 'stun' rivals
Great for Chan_Mobile and GSM modem for SMS in Kannel or if Asterisk
supports SMS over GSM modem.
I know chan_mobile had SMS in the future at one point but have not
revisited the project since.
"America Movil's MVNO TracFone Wireless quietly unveiled a prepaid,
nationwide unlimited offering for $45 per month that includes
unlimited text messaging and 30 MB of data."

chan_mobile
Hi,
I've been looking at the list at:
http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/chan_mobile
But when googling of any of the "known working" devices, there ain't any
for sale anymore, probably replaced by more recent types.
So, anyone around here who bought recently an BT-dongle that is working
with asterisk?

OT - Chan-mobile -Bluetooth dongle on remote LAN workstation
Hello,
On a LAN, is it possible to install a bluetooth dongle on one workstation
(at this time, this workstation OS is not specified) and use it with
chan_mobile ?
I've read some USB over IP (or Ethernet) middleware exist but I'm not
certain I'm looking at the right direction.

NOT chan_mobile
Hi all, does anyone know of an application that will run in Windows (in my
case users PC's) and behave in a similar fasion to chan_mobile? I'd like the
app to register with asterisk, then talk to a (or a number of) mobiles over
bluetooth thus creating an FXO port? I'm not interested in SMS etc. just
voice.
Thanks in advance Ray.

Little t38 bug?
Hello List,
I think I've discovered a little bug in t.38 bug in 1.6.0.22 regarding the speed (T38MaxBitRate) used to send the faxes.
Asterisk always responds with a=T38MaxBitRate:2400. I've tried with Patton and Grandstream devices and the result is always the same.
Patton ignores the parameter and sends the fax at 9600.

No Voice - only "noisy audio"
Hi Folks,
I'm trying to use my mobile as a trunk via bluetooth - calls done in a
softphone go thru GSM network and calls destinated to my mobile are answered
at the softphone.
I have asterisk configured to do so but I'm facing an issue - Audio is
audible but it?s not intelligible. I feel like the audio is breaking.
Below is the asterisk log. I also get lots of ?hci_scodata_packet: hci0

Asterisk on a USB with persistence
Hi,
I'm looking to get an ISO of FreePBX or AsteriskNOW installed on a USB that
I can boot from and also be able to save my changes. Is this possible?
My search on web doesn't seem to find anything useful. For now I don't have
the option of having a spare machine or creating a partition on my existing
one for my experiments with Asterisk.
My end goal is to have chan_mobile

Using a mobile phone via USB as an extension
I have had a search for this, but didn't come up with any results, so maybe I am
using the wrong terms, sorry if this is an FAQ.
For those who want to forward their incoming voice calls to a mobile, it could
be a cheaper option to call a mobile from another mobile on the same network.
This probably wouldn't be useful for users in USA, Canada or Hong Kong as costs
to call a mobile is
