Applying game patches.
Hi all, I've downloaded and installed Wine specifically to play Warhammer 40k, Dawn of War. I checked out the app database first and the signs were good, my version of Linux (Debian Sarge) was reported as working (although the installer had been tested) I ran the installer, and it appeared to work fine (although it only asked for the 1st disk) but when I try and run it, it asks for the

Warhammer 40k
According to the appdb (http://appdb.winehq.org/appview.php?iAppId=1918), Warhammer 40k should work almost flawlessy, however I am unable to even get the game to run. I'n installed the game on a Windows laptop (that's not up to running the game) and copied that across. When I try and run it, the game either complains that there is no cd in the drive, or that I must insert the origional

I can almost feel Civilization 3 running
But not quite. If I could just get past the sound, I think it might start and run. I'm running Wine in desktop display mode, emulating win98. comdlg32, shell32, shlwapi, and '*' are set to "native, builtin" while the rest of the DLLs that the default installation names are builtin, native. I've tried running it with 'winedbg --gdb civilization3', and it always

[LLVMdev] Possible change to ExecutionEngine::create()
Hi Daniel, In my case ExecutionEngine::create() loads 40 modules, then each time I try to resolve a symbol that I know is in a DLL that I supply, it looks through all 40 modules first. This is on Windows, so I get the following modules loaded: ntdll.dll, kernel32.dll, USER32.dll, GDI32.dll, SHELL32.dll, ADVAPI32.dll, RPCRT4.dll, Secur32.dll, msvcrt.dll, SHLWAPI.dll, ole32.dll, OLEAUT32.dll,

One toolbar button not working in Chart Navigator
I had an installation of Mandrake Linux 10.1 (wine 0.9.9) for which Maptech's Chart Navigator functionally worked out-of-the-box. Absolutely nothing was needed to be done to install or run, and everything worked. I attempted to install ChartNav on Mandriva 2007.0 which failed. I then attempted to compile most recent version from source, and Chart Nav continued to fail on start-up. I

[LLVMdev] Possible change to ExecutionEngine::create()
Hi Rob, Can you comment on exactly what the problem is you want to solve? Is it a performance issue with LoadLibraryPermanently, or do you simply not want the external symbols to be resolved from within the JIT? - Daniel On Wed, Jul 22, 2009 at 11:22 PM, Evan Cheng<evan.cheng at apple.com> wrote: > > On Jul 22, 2009, at 9:43 PM, Rob Grapes wrote: > >> Hi, >> >>

Winbind+ldap = core dump
Hi, I use samba 3.0.26a on fedora 8 as a fileserver for a win 2k3 domain. This has worked fine for about 2 months without any problems. However I came to the server 3 days ago and the harddrive was 100% full. On checking I found 60gb of core dumps in the winbind folder. I did a lot of searching and couldnt find anything relevent for this release. I tried upgrading samba to 3.0.28 (fc8

Compatibility regression after migrating to 64 bit Linux
I used to use Wine (from 0.9.x to 1.1.x) on ArchLinux 32 bits to run a Brazilian Dictionary called Houaiss [1], and it worked almost flawlessly. But then I got a new computer and installed Ubuntu 64 bits on it, and now Houaiss' interface is unreadable (same Windows software, not a 64 bits version). I'll provide further information below, and I'd like to know if it's a 64 bits

gem freezes
Might be more of a general Ruby question I suppose, but you guys will know anyhow ... After an upgrade to Leopard (a clean install, not a literal upgrade) I''ve copied my projects back onto my Mac, but I get an error when trying to start Mongrel that according to sources on the internet indicate that I''m missing some gems. When I try and install them however, the gem command
