inband DTMF for g729
Does anybody know why Asterisk does not support inband DTMF for G.729? Our SIP carrier use inband dtmf for G.729. This causes problem for us to use it for our Asterisk IVR system. Any suggestion to solve this problem? Gary -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... INBAND DTMF G729 ASTERISK
Hi all. Why don't Asterisk support inband DTMF with G729? Is there a way to do that!? Are you using RFC2833? Doesn't it a security hole? Thanks. Denis.

PRI dialing IVR with inband DTMF
I have a client who is using a Shoretel PBX. This PBX apparently does not send DTMF information OOB, but instead sends this inband via the B-channel. This is traversing an Asterisk box via a PRI. The user calls the IVR (1-800-CALL-DHL), receives audio, but is not able to present DTMF to engage the IVR. With some light research it appears that the DSP is not activating until the call is

IAX2 (IAXy) and DTMF Question
I am having trouble with a DTMF-based application on Asterisk 1.0.3. Specifically, when two IAX2-based devices are talking, when they send DTMF to eachother, the other side only hears clicks, and maybe a millisecond of DTMF tone, but not any real duration. Furthermore, when one IAXy device calls the Echo test program, we can hear our echo, but when we punch DTMF in, we get the same effect

DTMF and DISA
Hi Folks, I'm trying to test out Asterisk overall. I'm having some problems with DTMF. Currently I'm playing with DISA, but I'm worried this will happen when I get to implementing AAs etc. I have a free SIP trunk from IPKall that I'm trying to make work. I'm able to receive calls, and I've now setup and extension with DISA and a password. I connect ok from the

IAX2 and DTMF
For efficiency & reliability, when SIP transmits DTMF as non-audio data, it uses RFC2833 or INFO. My question is - (not knowing much about IAX2) - when IAX2 transmits DTMF as non-audio data - is it also using RFC2833 and/or INFO, or it it using some other IAX2-specific mechanism with its own name? Thank you, Brent -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...

"Inband DTMF is not supported on codec G.711 u-law. Use RFC2833"
Using FireFly, all other codecs but G711 Ulaw is selected. But whenever I place a call, I get: Jan 24 16:07:06 WARNING[30654495]: dsp.c:1468 ast_dsp_process: Inband DTMF is not supported on codec G.711 u-law. Use RFC2833 Umm, wtf? I thought Inband was ONLY supported on G.711 u-law. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

Unable to process inband DTMF
Hi All, Since I updated my * (CVS 2004-03-24), daily, I am getting a strange message just before a segmentation fault: "Unable to process inband DTMF on 2 frames". What could it be? Should it cause seg.faults? Daniel

Optimizing Sipura/Asterisk for DTMF?
We have an application which is primarily DTMF driven (automated on both sides), which we are trying to deploy over VOIP and Asterisk (using some Sipuras and some IAXY's). We are finding that in around half the cases, the Asterisk server can't decode the DTMF digits from the field office (or at least some of them). Though, when we place voice calls for testing, we can hear eachother quite

Weird DTMF issue
Can anyone explain why this is happening? I have a server attached to a phone line that will play a .wav file, then play all the dtmf digits (after it answers the call). If I place a call from a SIP device (like a Cisco 7960 phone) through Asterisk and on to the test server, via PSTN, the .wav file sounds fine, but the DTMF digits are distorted ----->------------->--------------------audio

GSM ISDN gateway to quadbri NT port under bristuffed Asterisk - where to set gain (I have unreliable inband dtmf recognition )?
Hi, I'm getting unreliable dtmf recognition (it works fine for 4-5 digits, errors (duplicates) on more), when transferred inband from gsm gateway to NT port of quadbri under bristuffed Asterisk..... Since Asterisk is claimed to have good dtmf recognizer, I suspect there are some settings to workarouned... I've tried dtmf relax, but didn't help, so I suspect gain settings.... Is

SIP and DTMF
Hello, I am fairly new to asterisk. I am currently using asterisk as a more convenient sip side voicemail system. My problem: I have cisco 7960 phones whose out of band dtmf tones are recognized properly(when dtmfmode=rfc2833) by asterisk but whose in-band dtmf tones are recognised poorly(when dtmfmode=inband) . For example 7999 comes out as 799999, 4242 comes out as 442422 ... etc I

oh323 inband dtmf - Possible bug?
I'm trying to use H323 for the first time so please forgive me if I've made a mistake here. I have downloaded and compiled the latest versions of pwlib, openh323 and asterisk. I have dtmfmode=inband in h323.conf, but the remote system is not hearing the DTMF. Running a trace reveals the following... 1:08.398 ThreadID=0x00022012 h323.cxx(4594) H323

disable dtmf on SIP peer
Hello, I have one problem and I need to disable dtmf (disable rfc2833, info and inband) on one (other peers must support dtmf) SIP peer . Is it possible? Workaround would be use g729 codec with dtmfmode=inband. Maybe there is better solution? Thanks for help. -- Pagarbiai / Best Regards, Giedrius Augys -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:
