how to find the index of points selected from a scatter plot?
Hi all, I am using "locator" to select the points from a scatter plot... This is all fine. But the problem is that the locator only returns the axis values of the selected points. Instead, I would like to get the index of these select points... The axis values are real-values so it's a bit hard for me to directly reverse-engineer the index nubmers.. How to do that? Thank you!

Caller ID Bug in v1.0.5
Hi, I recently upgraded from stable v1.0.2 to v1.0.5. I'm seeing a bug when retransmitting my invite for proxy authentication. Essentially, when I retransmit the request with the proxy auth, the "From" number becomes the "To" number in the SIP message. Here is an example (with ambiguous numbers): Reliably Transmitting: INVITE sip:1234@10.0.0.2 SIP/2.0 Via: SIP/2.0/UDP

slow setup time
I'm seeing some very slow setup times. Here's what I did. I started ethereal while things were running fine and then I waited until my windows box didn't show up in findsmb (I have keepalive set to "yes", so I don't see why it times out at all). I then went into "My computer" which was very slow. When I look in ethereal, I see some interesting nubmers in

How to summarise several models in a single table
Dear R-helpers, I have produced several models, named model1, model2, model3, etc... I would like to extract several elements from each model's object, e.g. at minimum the estimates, SEs, and P values of each model's intercept and slopes, model R-squared, and AIC... ...and then produce a new object (a table) that summarises all of my models, with M\models in rows and extractd model

when a puppet exec resource contains several "single commands", puppet exec only fails if the last exec command fails

Several densityplots in single figure
Hi, I have created two separate overlapping density plots- see example code below. What I wish now to do is combine them into one figure where they sit side by side. Any help would be great! many thanks in advance, josh. ##################### thedataA <- data.frame(x1=rnorm(100,1,1),x2=rnorm(100,3,1)) #create data thedataA.m<-melt(thedataA) densityplot(~value, thedataA.m,

single rsync of large directory structure versus several smaller rsync's
Hello, I am working on a backup script using rsync and have a question. Rather than doing a single rsync of /home/ I have set my script up to loop over /etc/passwd and do a seperate rsync of each user home dir (/home/user1, /home/user2) etc. In the end, I should have the exact same backup either way. However I feel safest doing it as multiple rsyncs (one for each user). I am doing this

lm with a single X and step with several Xi-s, beta coef. quite different:
Hi, (R version 2.15.0) I am running a pgm with 1 response (earlier standardized Y) and 44 independent vars (Xi) from the same data =a2: When I run the 'lm' function on single Xi at a time, the beta coefficient for let's say X1 is = -0.08 (se=0.03256) But when I run the same Y with 44 Xi-s with the 'step' function (because I left direction parameter empty, I assume a backward
