Anyone have experience getting Poser 7 to work?
Hi, I just installed the latest wine and got all kinds of software to work on my box, which is really cool! I'm having trouble with Poser 7, though. I've successfully installed it, and can mostly run it, but it seems like a lot of the windows within tend to disappear mysteriously when clicking outside of them. They come back if you click the right widget, but I find it highly intrusive,

Live webcam stream with Theora
Hey all, I've setup a simple page that just displays a live webcam stream of me at work, and it supposedly falls back onto Cortado if your browser doesn't support the <video> tag. The URL is here: http://media.basilgohar.com/stream/ There's been a lot of talk about live streaming and low bitrate streams. Here is my command line (I've posted this before): time ffmpeg -f

Live Ogg Vorbis/Theora Streaming Software
Hi, Its been a while since I posted to this list. I have finished an application to stream Live Ogg Vorbis/Theora to file or Icecast server for Windows users. For example, you can stream your webcam/radio station with it. Maybe this will help make more Theora streams available as there seems to be very little Windows support. Some features are as follows: - Connects to DirectShow Input

asterisk video streaming
Hi, I'd like an Asterisk SIP client with videosupport=yes to be able to dial into an IVR which would allow the user (after asking a few questions - like authentication, etc) to stream it's audio and video (mic + webcam) as an HTTP stream (say, a flash stream as it's the most common format for now or webm, vp8, etc.). How can I do this? The setup would be something like this:

Theora freezes when with multiple video screens
Hello. I have a problem with theora when using 2 video screens. The second is connected to the dvi output of the video card. When I watch the video, I move the renderer to the other screen and video still remains black, or freezes, for a while. Considerer this test : construct a graph DirectShow using GraphEdit like this : - Webcam filter - Theora Encoder - Theora Decoder - Video Renderer Run

video source
In order to experiment with the theora encoder, I bought a mini-DV camcorder a couple of weeks ago; a Panasonic PV-GS9 for $250. I wanted a mini-DV because it is claimed that capturing video from the camcorder to a computer over a firewire cable results in an exact copy of the recorded video. That was not my experience. The video I captured to my computer over the firewire cable, using both

Centos5 Webcam/Video input/output
We have been exploring the possibilities using Centos5 for video. Video and Audio Streaming sounds like great fun. Subject is pretty new to us here and well there was nothing else to do but take the dive. After much time beating our heads against the wall and covering the planet google'ing and hitting the books trying to get a webcam to work. I am wondering if it wouldn't be better just

video capture via nvidia g3, cento5 (rhel5) - arrrgghhh
I've never messed with video capture on a linux system, and someone point me the right direction? I've been googling like crazy, and can't seem to get any good pointers. I'm trying to get some kind of video capture working and eventually get a live cam setup and security setup with motion sensing. I've given up on getting my USB webcam to work. I'm now trying via the

Video Recording
Hi, I would like to record some training/advertising videos, in a similar format to those offered by CBT Nuggets (and others). Essentially this means I need to be able grab real video (e.g. webcam or DV camcorder, etc) as well as what is on the computer screen (VNC Recorder maybe) and audio. In terms of output I would like it to be in Ogg Theora format as these seems to be supported both on

video capture
Hey all, I'm looking for a application that I can use to capture video from a USB web camera. I have Cheese Webcam Booth 2.28.1 installed but it leaves a lot to be desired in the video capture field. Things like actually working. It does an adequate job of snagging a batch of single images in burst mode. Any suggestions? -- _ ?v? /(_)\ ^ ^ Mark LaPierre Registerd

Simple Video and Audio Recording ???
Hello, (This is yet another newbie question.) My goal is to record Video and Audio, from a webcam and microphone, and record them in ogg format. (Using Theora and Vorbis.) I'm aware that I can use video4linux or video4linux2 to get the video. And use various API's for audio. And can use APIs like GStreamer to do the encoding, etc. But, if possible, I like something a little more

Audio/video recording software
Hi everyone! :-) I am supposed to get (for the first time) into the world of making youtube clips. I have a webcam, a microphone and a big hard drive configured and ready. The question is: what would you suggest as an easy-to-use yum-installable app that could handle a couple of minutes/hours of recording? People who are about to use it are complete noobs, and I would like to give them a
