Specific SIP answers on incoming calls?
Hi, when I still had ISDN, I was using Hangup(causecode) to send e.g. "Wrong number" to unwelcome callers. Meanwhile, I am only using SIP providers (no PSTN lines any more) and I would like to do similar, i.e. send specific SIP headers. Besides "wrong number", I would especially like to send 302 temp moved with a specified address to deflect certain calls. Is there any way to

transfer option and pressing #
Hi I have setup forwarding - xfering - where you press # and then the extension. I add t to the dial cmd. My problem is that when you call something like internet banking they want #, but when # is pressed asterisk gets it instead. is there a way around this ? I haven't been able to get asterisk to listen to flash either Alex -- Why is it there are so many more horses' asses than

LCR in Asterisk
Hi all, I am planning to implement LCR routing on my already running asterisk server. Uptill now i have found out that asterisk has no support for lcr, i have to do something about it myself, for example using the AGI. Im looking for ideas here. Whats the best way to start implementing lcr in asterisk. Should i use agi and start implementing my own lcr script or is there any plugin available which

How to get a clean, basic configuration?
Hello I'm using a standard Asterisk install with default settings, and when I run "reload", I see that Asterisk fetches configuration information from a lot more sources than just my extensions.conf and sip.conf. For instance: -- Registered indication country 've' -- Registered indication country 'za' -- Setting default indication country to

EXT3 crash?!
Just wondering if someone could help me debug this: I was moving data from an ATARAID (via Promise FastTrack100 Controller) into the LVM device below: 58,1: # cat /proc/lvm/VGs/foo3/LVs/bar name: /dev/foo3/bar size: 476315648 access: 3 status: 1 number: 0 open: 1 allocation: 0 device: 58:01 # /sbin/pvscan pvscan -- reading all physical volumes

Only call me once
Anyone have an idea how to implement a phone number that can only be called once? The first time it will process normally and any subsequent calls will be rejected.

Automating blacklists
Hi, I've been reading all I can on Google (and Asterisk TFOT book) looking for ideas on how to implement an automated blacklist feature. I would like to automatically blacklist a incoming number based on timestamp and count information. For example, if I get a prank call from the same number 5 times within 15 minutes, I want my dialplan to automatically blacklist this number. Should I be

Asterisk 1.4.11, res_features.so, SegFault
Hi All, I have a really strange issue occuring where if I run "show dialplan" or "dialplan show" or "dialplan show parkedcalls", then asterisk dumps core. It only appears to happen with contexts that are created within res_features. I am able to display all my other dialplans, but, every time I try to just do a normal "dialplan show" asterisk core dumps

rsync default handling of permissions
The handling of permissions in rsync (2.5.2) is nasty or broken. (tested platforms: Linux 2.4.x and Solaris 7) We have a directory which should only accessible to a group of users (test) : [sn@noname test]$ ls -lda /home/test drwxrws--- 2 root test 4096 Feb 13 15:44 /home/test Every user has an umask of 007 and his/her own default group: [sn@noname sn]$ id uid=500(sn)

Putting a password on the international call
Dear List; To have better security, how can I put a password on the international calls (if the user dialed the international call, then it will be asked for password to send the call outside)? Can this password read from the CDR file to know whom did these international calls (using which password? As I might have mutliple passwords). Regards Bilal

Passing parameter to Queue-called macro
Hi all I need to pass a parameter in a thread-safe manner to the Queue pickup macro. This is to know when (and who) picked up an incoming call to a queue and log that to my back-office system with a CURL to a HTTP endpoint. However, the Queue application does not appear to allow passing of parameters to the called queue pickup macro. E. g. non-working code is: [queuetest] timeout = 60 retry =

Any reason to *not* use AEL? (Also, MixMonitor q)
I am building a new Asterisk server here at the office, and I'm wondering if there are any downsides to creating my dialplan with AEL. It seems more intuitive (to me), but I'm not sure if there are any pitfalls I need to be aware of first. We use this for internal extensions, 8 pots lines, and our answering service which gets about 500 incoming calls a day down our T1. Also, one more

Is there a default dial plan that is not in extention.conf?
Hi, I have a trivial peace of dialplan for exten 100. I try to change it to _1XX and the asterisk act according to a different (Default??) dial plan and not the one I want? Is that possible? Where is the other dialplan sits? In my extention.conf I can't see something that look like what asterisk is dialing. How can I trace\debug my dialplan? Thanks, Eyal -------------- next part

Where are phone registrations kept?
Hi, I've built an Asterisk HA cluster by means of heartbeat and drbd. The following folders are stored on shared storage and referred to by means of symbolic links: /etc/asterisk /var/lib/asterisk /usr/lib/asterisk /var/spool/asterisk /var/log/asterisk I was under the impression that phone registrations were stored in /var/lib/asterisk/astdb and as such preserved when failing over. But

SYSLINUX 3.32-pre7 release candidate&In-Reply-To=
Hi, First, many thanks for your great work. Don't know if it's the good way to post .... But I want to give you a good information ( and also good for me). I try to make an usb bootable SystemrescueCd (www.sysrescd.org) on a new 2Gb Usb Key (noname, UT163 controller from USBest) and it was impossible with syslinux 3.31 release ( using win32 version syslinux.exe). The syslinux command

Passing parameter to Queue-called macro
Hi Marie Thanks! I was just worried about thread safety if I had to use a global variable, e. g. it might be set to a value by one call (since I'm using the same global for every incoming call to transfer the accountcode gotten from my HTTP endpoint to the same macro, and there can be several calls simultaneously all inserting HTTP-sourced values at more or less the same instant) and then
