INBAND DTMF G729 ASTERISK
Hi all. Why don't Asterisk support inband DTMF with G729? Is there a way to do that!? Are you using RFC2833? Doesn't it a security hole? Thanks. Denis.

oh323/g729 and DTMF
Hi everyone, Could somebody enlighten me on this one? I have configured my asterisk to run on oh323 using codec g729. Incoming calls are working okay. But the thing I want to work is say pressing some options, say dial 1 to go to voicemail or dial a certain number to dial a specific extension. I have a config for this and tried calling from a normal PSTN and is working. But i just can't seem

disable dtmf on SIP peer
Hello, I have one problem and I need to disable dtmf (disable rfc2833, info and inband) on one (other peers must support dtmf) SIP peer . Is it possible? Workaround would be use g729 codec with dtmfmode=inband. Maybe there is better solution? Thanks for help. -- Pagarbiai / Best Regards, Giedrius Augys -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

Wengo config and G729(a)
Hi list! Again Wengo has made changes to their servers that require modifications to * configs. Is there anyone that has the 'new' wengo working with asterisk that could post their configs? Also they switched codecs, now G720a is required to connect. I can only find an (open) G729 codec, is this the same as G729a? Thanks!

G729, voicemail, no codec_g729
I am trying to create a %100 g729 (with no transcoding) system (using a Soekris, of course). I am running AstLinux with the native sounds, g729 is the only codec allowed, %100 SIP (g729 only allow=) - I think I am covering all of my bases. I have only "format=g729" in voicemail.conf. On an incoming call to a mailbox, everything goes well until recording the message. When the

Sending digits from SIP to Asterisk's VoiceMailMain
Hi, I am using Asterisk cmd VoiceMailMain to manage voice mail. Problem is, voice mail box can't read password sent from SIP phone, but I don't have any problem to read password from the handset attached to my asterisk box. Your help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

Issue with DTMF Tones - Codec Issues
Topology: PSTN<-T1 PRI->NEAX2400<-T1 PRI->Cisco 3825<-Ethernet-> Asterisk VoIP server When I make a call to a VoIP user from the PSTN, the call gets routed through the PBX, and Cisco. Because of that the DTMF tones are passed inband, which I can hear on the VoIP end of the call. However, I have one extension on asterisk set up so that I can check voice mail when away from my

dtmfmode=inband with G.729
It appears Asterisk can handle DTMF inband on only a limited selection of formats, of which G.729 is not one. The issue appears to be something involving "short data" -- whatever that is. (I'm inferring all this from looking at dsp.c in the vicinity of the error message I was getting, which pointed to line 1424.) What *is* "short data"? Is this really a show-stopper for

PRI dialing IVR with inband DTMF
I have a client who is using a Shoretel PBX. This PBX apparently does not send DTMF information OOB, but instead sends this inband via the B-channel. This is traversing an Asterisk box via a PRI. The user calls the IVR (1-800-CALL-DHL), receives audio, but is not able to present DTMF to engage the IVR. With some light research it appears that the DSP is not activating until the call is

Can I make asterisk do inband and rfc2833 at the same time?
I know I wouldn't normally want this due to double tones, but my upstream provider has an issue where they negotiate rfc2833 but then send dtmf inband. I don't expect to get both at the same time, so is there a way to make asterisk turn on both inband or rfc2833? Auto doesn't work because it sees the rfc2833 in SDP then ignores inband for the remainder of the call. Thanks.

"Inband DTMF is not supported on codec G.711 u-law. Use RFC2833"
Using FireFly, all other codecs but G711 Ulaw is selected. But whenever I place a call, I get: Jan 24 16:07:06 WARNING[30654495]: dsp.c:1468 ast_dsp_process: Inband DTMF is not supported on codec G.711 u-law. Use RFC2833 Umm, wtf? FireFly Problems
How come FireFly doesn't give me an Inband DTMF option? Only RFC2833 and Info. RFC2833 is the default, so I left it that way. I also unchecked all the codecs except g711ulaw to force that codecs usage. However, when I go to place a call, I get this: Nov 3 13:18:44 WARNING[53641241]: dsp.c:1468 ast_dsp_process: Inband DTMF is not supported on codec G.711 u-law. Use RFC2833 Nov 3 13:18:44

DMTF Mode
Hi, Which DTMF mode do people mostly use? I've tried SIP INFO and RFC2833 but although Asterisk recognises the tones (for feature usage), the tones arent repeated to the end user. So if I call a company that has a menu system, I can't use the menu. Thanks Dan -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

DTMF SIP
Hello list, my case is as follows: SIP1--asterisk--SIP2. SIP2 is IVR type device. SIP1 and SIP2 both use g729. When SIP1 calls SIP2, it hears the IVR, and prompt the SIP1 to punch the keypad on the phone. As suggested by you, I need to configure the SIP1 with out band dtmf mode , what is about the sip.conf, should I specify the SIP1 with demfmode=rfc2238 ? do I also need to make same kind
