FW: Seamless Multi Office Asterisk Deployment
Hello I have a brief and a long question about a possible Asterisk deployment I am planning. Long Story Short: I have four total offices, one main and three remote. All offices are connected using dedicated network T1 lines creating one unified network across offices. I would like to know if it is possible to set up an Asterisk system with the following capabilities: - Branch

"context confusion" internal context 2 context only?
I'm trying to create several contexts for extentions with different levels of access to features and I'm wondering how the heck do I include all the contexts so that you can call internal to any extention in another context without giving the features of the higher level context to the lower level context? ie..... [admin] include => local include => longdistance include =>

Samba and CUPS Config Issue
We are trying to migrate from Samba/LPRng to Samba/CUPS and have hit some snags. We're using the Samba box as a print server for our corporate network, and have a variety of Windows versions on the network. The problem we're having is with our Windows 95 clients. Win95 uses the printer comment when it maps to the printer on the server. However, when we connect to a printer, we no

Safe Harbor Games : Backgammon - Almost works with Wine
Safe Harbor Games (http://www.safeharborgames.net/) is a popular site in the backgammon community. I am one of several people trying to get the game server to work on Linux with Wine. I am using a Asus EEE 1000HE with the latest version of Easy Peasy (Ubuntu) and Wine. The game software requires browser to launch and I was successful in getting this to work by loading windows version of

Tinc for gaming
Hi, We are trying to set up tinc for playing lan games over the internet. The three of us are running tinc, can ping each other and browse shared folders. yes, windows :| However we cannot connect because we don't show up in the game lobby. The games usually require udp ports to be open, but I think these are all open once we establish the tinc tunnel. Also, testing with all computers in

MoH mysteriously stopped working
Folks, I have somewhat of a serious issue here. My music on hold mysteriously stopped working. I have made no changes to my Asterisk box in the past month and up until an hour ago, MoH was working fine (as far as I know). CLI: -- Started music on hold, class 'default', on channel 'IAX2/lobby-2' -- Stopped music on hold on IAX2/lobby-2 voip*CLI> moh reload voip*CLI> 1

using Playback() to play a random sound file
I've got a directory under /var/lib/asterisk/sounds which contains a bunch of sound files. I would like to call the Playback command to play the files, but I need it to select a file to play randomly. Is there any way to do this? ~jay

Errors linking with LLVM 5.0 - dump() missing
Or, instead of lobbying for llvm to always define dump(), you could lobby for it to enabled by default. In C, a fast way to slice a vector?
Hello, Suppose in the following code, PROTECT(sr = R_tryEval( .... )) sr is a RAWSXP vector. I wish to return another RAWSXP starting at position 13 onwards (base=0). I could create another RAWSXP of the correct length and then memcpy the required bytes and length to this new one. However is there a more efficient method? Regards Saptarshi Guha

[OT] Campfire problems
I''m getting bounced back the ''lobby'' every 30 seconds or so by an Ajax redirect. This is happening in a couple of accounts and browsers. FireBug showed me it was a poll.fcgi that occasionally came back with: chat.redirectTo(''/''); I realise this isn''t the right place, but figured I might find a campfire user or two to verify if

Please reinstate CELT_SET_SIGNALLING_REQUEST
Hi Jean-Marc, I'd like to lobby to put CELT_SET_SIGNALLING_REQUEST back into the public area. In our case the frame sizes are constant and we're not trying to be inter-operable with anyone else, so the in-band signaling byte is just wasted bandwidth. I know I could just modify the default value for "signalling" in the source code, but I'm trying to avoid doing that as

Astricon meets?
Is there a mailing list for people at astricon? I'm here, at the conference Hotel, and was wondering if others as well. Doing some work in the Hotel, but I'd be interested in meeting some others in the Lobby for *-talk or something.. -SteveK

Once again.Tinc for gaming
Howdy, I would like to bring this topic up again. Gaming via tinc. We use tinc-1.0.16 on Linux, Win7 and WinXP so far. Setup was pretty straight forward. All the nodes have mode set to switch and subnet to 10.0.0.0/24. Ping works, smb shares work. Everything seems fine BUT connecting ingame only works with 1 out of 5 games. In some games, we see each other in the lobby. I conclude, that UDP

Accessing games at mysticisland.net through wine
Has anyone tried to access any mystic island games, www.mysticisland.net , using wine. I'm using SuSE 11.0 64 bit. I'm only having a limited amount of luck doing it and if someone else has figured it out I might not have to post a rather long bug report that I generated opening it in terminal mode.

Code: 1. First establish a VPN. I use a bridged VPN set up with OpenVPN. It works fine. The VPN client created a tap0 interface with the IP 11.0.0.3. 2. Re-route packets for 255.255.255.255 to your VPN interface (Here tap0) # route add host 255.255.255.255 dev tap0 3. In /etc/hosts, remove any reference to your hostname (TACHIBANA here) and, on the first line, add : 11.0.0.3 TACHIBANA 4. Compile

PHP probes
Hi all, I remember at OSCON 2005 there was talk of adding DTrace probes to PHP (in fact, I have a photo of Bryan and Wes working on it!). Did they ever get into the upstream branch, ''cause I don''t recall seeing a --enable-dtrace (or similar) configuration option when I recently built PHP 5.2.1. If not, is there an ETA?
