Voicemail with NFS (working, I think)
I'm using a stand-alone VM server and exporting the VM files ro for MWI function only. All my registration servers mount the remote NFS share just to check MWI, all read-write functions to the VM files occur on the VM server only. On the registration servers, I mounted the remote VM share with this in my fstab.conf: 10.10.14.124:/var/spool/asterisk/voicemail /mnt/vmserver nfs

Thank you puppet!!
I''ve been hacking at puppet for the past week or two, and came up with some great stuff, but I''m wondering if there''s a way to tie it all together To create a virtual machine for our company''s QA environment, I''m currently doing 3 things: #create a vm node vmsvr2 inherits default { include vmserver vmserver::vm {

outdial to phone for new VM notification
Hi all, Does anyone have an application/script or extensions.conf file which will do the following? "When a new VoiceMail is left for a user, the asterisk system will place a call to a cellphone/pstn number(via some provider). When the user answers his cell/home phone, comedian mail will ask for his password and he can check his Asterisk VM?" Anyone have any examples of it

NFSroot is acting strange in CentOS5
Hello all, I have observed a problem with a diskless PXE client I am attempting to configure. PXE/NFS/DHCP/TFTPd server is running CentOS5.1 and the Diskless workstation's root and kernel was extracted from a CentOS5.1 (custom kernel due to setting to enable Root File System support). Problem: When the diskless client boots and logs in I notice that my root user is being squashed, even if I

[PATCH] use reliable nfs mount options per default
Peter, we found that nfs over udp will corrupt data under very extrem load, there is no way to fix it due to the way how UDP works. TCP will not have these problems. I also wonder why the package size is only 1k. Everyone who wishes a slow connection can pass the desired options via the kernel cmdline. Everyone else prefers probably the fast mount. The defaults should look more like that: ---

SIP-Realtime and sip reload
Hi, I use SIP-Realtime to store my SIP-users and I keep the informations about the SIP-Providers my Asterisk registers to in sip.conf. I'm running into the following problem. If I set rtcachefriends="yes" because I want to use MWI and run a "sip reload" because I changed something in sip.conf, Asterisk forgets about all registrations of the users which are all unavailable

IOwaits over NFS
Hello. We have a number of Xen 3.4.2. boxes which have constant iowaits at around 10% with spikes up to 100% when accessing data over NFS. We have been unable to nail down the issue. Any advice? System info: release : 2.6.18-194.3.1.el5xen version : #1 SMP Thu May 13 13:49:53 EDT 2010 machine : x86_64 nr_cpus : 16 nr_nodes

Setting up charge/voltage based shutdowns
I think it can be useful in a scenario like: - Large UPS, that powers 2 hosts: one is VMServer with just a small boot driver and the second is a NAS with all the disks for the first server. - UPS is connected by USB to another host (such as a small Raspberry PI), acting as the NUT primary. - Both machines served by UPS are NUT secondaries. - The NAS box can only shutdown one the VMware is fully

PXE client is root squashing ...
Hello all, Though the question is NFS-related, it is in conjunction with the PXE booting. Issue/Scenario: - PXE/DHCP/NFS and tFTP server running CentOS51 and is configured per PXE/Syslinux and RHEL diskless workstation documentation. 1. Attempt to test ability for client to PXE boot over the network and run Root-NFS 2. NFS export in the PXE server is: # # NFS Export Files for qatest1 host #

Remote MWI over IAX2
Hi All, I'm wondering has anyone made any further progress with getting MWI to work from a stand-alone asterisk VM server to other asterisk servers where the sip phones are actually registered to? MWI link accross IAX2? Thanks. JR JR Richardson Engineering for the Masses

Setting up charge/voltage based shutdowns
Yeah, I have no lack of imagination about scenarios where that can be useful - just was surprised to see no apparent "here's how you do it" sort of man page or something, Although technically the shutdown scenario like yours, where a NAS server only is told to go down - or actually does so (which is substantially different and can be implemented elsewhere) - after its consumers go

"Too many levels of symbolic links" with glusterfs automounting
I set up a 3.3 gluster volume for another sysadmin and he has added it to his cluster via automount. It seems to work initially but after some time (days) he is now regularly seeing this warning: "Too many levels of symbolic links" $ df: `/share/gl': Too many levels of symbolic links when he tries to traverse the mounted filesystems. I've been using gluster with static mounts

Voicemail with NFS
I have /var/spool/asterisk/voicemail NFS mounted from another server. Everything is fine, until I simulate an NFS server failure, by shutting down the NFS server process. At this point, Asterisk becomes almost non-responsive. It won't even process a 'sip show peers' command correctly. It displays a few lines of text, pauses for several seconds, and then displays the rest. When a call

Setting up charge/voltage based shutdowns
