Newbie, Question on making a PSTN call..
Hello Asterisk-users,
I am new to Asterisk. I got SIP Calls to work between two computers using a
soft phone and asterisk in the middle. Since then, I have been trying to get
my soft phone to make a PSTN call with terrible failure for about two days
now.
On Windows using asteriskwin32:
I have a soft modem (Agere HDA Modem) in my laptop. Windows' default dialer

[*Win32 0.60] Sending call notification by e-mail/web?
Hello,
In case there are other users of the AsteriskWin32 port...
I haven't really used the AGI feature of Asterisk to run an application
from extensions.conf. *Win32 supports Perl, which I don't know. Apparently,
it's also possible to write AGI applications as EXE's (there's a
eagi-test.exe file installed by default).
=> When a call comes in, I'd like an AGI

this.

Linux Distribution for Asterisk server use
Hello,
My question is about which Linux distribution to choose for Asterisk. (/me
holds breath) OK, hopefully you're still reading, because whatever you were
thinking now, you're thinking wrong! ;)
First of all, I want to make clear that I have read EVERY message and reply
that I could possibly find about this topic, so that includes the dozens of
messages here on the Asterisk

Music On Hold problem: Read 392 bytes of audio while expecting 1600
My new asterisk install seems to be running fine - including playing all
prompts etc without error. However, when placing someone on hold they
here choppy music (first second or so) then quiet. I see the errors
below.
What is causing this? (Note that I am running AsteriskWin32).
Thanks,
Mike

Time Series Graphics - "cannot plot more than 10 series"
Hi Experts,
I would like to present time series data in meaningful way in building
some graphics. I've tried:
(1) plot(ts(mbaye3))
and
(2) plot(ts(mbaye3), start=1990)
But I always get this error-message:
Fehler [error] in plotts(x = x, y = y, plot.type = plot.type,
xy.labels = xy.labels, :
cannot plot more than 10 series as "multiple"

Channelbanks for use in europe (Sweden)
Hi!
Is there anyone that are using a E1-channelbank and have any tips about some
type? Im looking at the TE410P and use one port for a PRI (Euro-ISDN, I
think we're using some slightly modified version here in Sweden, but I'll
check that tomorrow) and connect one port to a channelbank for 30 analogue
telephones.
It would also be great to get callerid on the analogue phones, so it would

Music On Hold problem: Read 392 bytes ofaudiowhile expecting 1600
I'm using the default mp3 files that ship with Asterisk:
fpm-calm-river.mp3
fpm-world-mix.mp3
If they were variable bit rate, I think I would see a warning about
'varibel' or similar...is anyone else able to get these files to work?

I suspect you ended up on the wrong list.
Generally this is the list for those who mess with the actual C code of
Asterisk. I suggest you follow-up on asterisk-users (CC-ed there).

Theora DirectShow filters assembly
Hello everybody,
I intend to use Theora as a live video codec in a research project. This project is based on live video broadcast over a poor/slow link, which means lots of frames lost and low bandwith.
Until now, it used XViD codec for video compression, which is a working solution but a lot blocky. I made some test with Theora and it looks better in a similar situation.
Now, I would like to

TCP window based shaping
I recalled a discussion of manipulating outgoing tcp windows in order
to control return tcp traffic. I finally found at least some of that
discussion in a thread with the subject above (of this message).
But I thought someone announced an implementation and I don''t see it
under this thread. If anyone else remembers or knows where I should
look for it, please let me know. I''m
