Global variables in global variables
Hi.
I have a very old dialplan (ie: a dialplan for a very old version of Asterisk)
which I've just transferred to Asterisk 16.28.0
The [globals] section of that dialplan includes:

Sphones=SIP/SYealinkT38G&SIP/SGC610IP
Allphones=${Kphones}&${Sphones}
In the old system, this results in ${Allphones} containing:

Asterisk with Dialplan or TrixBox for this case?
Hi all -
Been using Asterisk installed on Debian and love it. But it's time to
rearrange some lines and looking for a few features I didn't enable or
have in the dial plan the first time around and wondering if you would
recommend doing it through configs again or if one of the prepackaged
solutions would more easily support these needs. One that caught my
eye was TrixBox but I'd be

spandsp rxfax under Linux 2.6 w/TDM400?
Hi,
I have got my Asterisk server running with TDM400 card (2xFXO & 2xFXS).
I originally had the system configured with a Panasonic fax machine on
one of the extensions. Due to the high volume of fax spam, I figured it
would be a much better idea to capture the faxes as TIF or PDF files to
minimize wasted paper, etc. I have downloaded, compiled and installed
spandsp and can see the rxfax

suggested, just plug in a 6 connector rj11 and i didnt work atall.
On a side note, I cannot beleive that Digium dont have this information

TDM400 with FXS some handsets not ringing
Folks,
I have a TDM400 with an FXS module. I'm having some trouble ringing
some phones attached to the device.
I have a real el cheapo handset that cost me about 9UKP. It works fine,
I plug it into the Wildcard and call the channel and it rings.
I have tried plugging in my BT Diverse 3016 cordless phone but it will
not ring, although I can call out from it.
I have also tried my GPO 332L

TDM400 w/ FXS S110M pinout on RJ11 connector?
Hi all,
I just got my long awaited FXS modules for a TDM400 card, and was a bit
puzzled about how my phones and the FXS interface worked together. Here
goes:
In Sweden (that's where I am located) phones traditionally are connected in
daisy chain configuration. This means that a phone in on-hook condition
passes the line through back onto the outer pair of the RJ11, back into the

Sipura SPA-841 auto-answer support [patch]
Sipura has implemented auto-answer in version 0.9.5 of the SPA-841
firmware. However, it is implemented via the Call-Info header, which
Asterisk stable doesn't currently support.
The attached patch implments a quick hack to support the Call-Info
header from the Dial() application by way of setting the CALL_INFO
variable. For example, the following macro can be used to dial up a

Gosubs broken since r160626 (1.6.0 SVN) ?

I've just upgraded to latest 1.6.0 SVN from a few days ago and my Gosubs

Message Waiting Indicator (MWI) for remote voice mail?
I have Asterisk voice mail setup locally. It works great, I'm impressed!
Some details about my system: I'm using a TDM22B card to interface with both
the PSTN and a VOIP provider. I'm running 1.2-beta from CVS.
I have a regular VTech phone plugged into one of the FXS ports.
Asterisk is able to indicate when a local voicemail message is waiting via
the LCD display of my analog phone.

No CID on Zaps - TDM400
I'm running Trixbox 1.2.3 with 2 TDM400s (FXOs).
With Trixbox out of the mix and a regular phone connected I get the CID
fine yet Trixbox shows 'unknown':
dialparties.agi: Caller ID name is 'unknown' number is 'unknown'
dialparties.agi: Methodology of ring is 'ringall'
Here is my Zapata.conf if it helps:

Distinctive Ring
Hi All,
I was wondering what the status of distinctive ring support in Asterisk
is? I had a google search & read and Mark Spencer wrote some support for
it.
Is distinctive ring different in every country or is it pretty standard?
And for my final question, does the Wildcard FXO card support
distinctive ring?
Essentially what I'm trying to do is route incoming calls with ring #1

SPA-3000 and distinctive ring
I'm looking to give the SPA-3000 a whirl as I'm having too much
difficulty with the irq sharing thing inside the box.
I'm reading the book but without having one in-hand to play with it
appears a little obtuse at this time. Before I drop down my money can
someone with some hands-on with one of these confirm if the SPA-3000
can:
a) detect inbound distinctive ring (this looks to me like

Distinctive ringing on Cisco 79xx
Greetings, I am trying to implement distinctive ringing on a Cisco 7960.
I have tried setting alert_info to chirp1 or chirp2 before dialing the
phone, but it has no affect. If you have successfully implemented
distinctive ringing on a 7960, I would really appreciate seeing the snipit
of code that works.
Thanks in advance

Wacko Distinctive Ring Patterns being detected??
Hi All,
I've recently got a "second" number installed on my PSTN line,
trusting the Asterisk distinctive ring detection would work as
expected. It appeared to work fine at the start, as the second number
generated a different ring pattern to 0,0,0 (in the console) only to
realise that almost every phone call to this "second" number generated
a different ring pattern.

Distinctive ring confusion
I am somewhat unsure as to the definition of "Distinctive Ring".
What I am trying to achieve is to have Zap connected phones (TDM400P)
ring with different cadences depending on whether the call is incoming
on the PSTN context or an IAX2 context.
Googling, I find this from Mark:
I've added distinctive ring support to Asterisk now (also I've added

Distinctive Ring detection and caller ID
I have a line from BT (UK) connected to my asterisk system, on a
TDM400P.
I am able to see either distinctive ring cadences or caller ID but not
both. If I try to enable both, all drings show up as 0,0,0.
This is a pain because, if I make a call out over that line and the
number I call is busy, I can elect to camp on it (ringback), which
results in a different cadence of ring when the called
