similar to: Verizon Vonage 101

Sprint Nextel is sueing vonage, voiceglo and theglobe.com for infringing on VoIP patents. Sprint Nextel claims to have about 100 patents on VoIP technologies. Does anyone know which ones this article is talking about, and if so does asterisk have any of those features? The reason I am asking is that the article is vague, Vonage uses a fairly standard codec set, I dont know about the others.

Does anyone really know what Verizon hold patents for, and could those patents possible affect anything in Asterisk? Who knows who Verizon will go after next. I did some research on patent claims on range and arithmetic coding. The original range code pdf presented in the UK by an ibm employee at the time asserts no patent claims what so ever. I set up an asterisk box with a broadvoice sip connection for incoming connections it works great when I use a cell phone, vonage line, calling card to call the asterisk box, but when I try to call it from our verizon land line it is busy and asterisk logs do not show incoming call. I setup a vonage account last year, and cancelled it last night when I put my asterisk box together and signed up for a Broadvoice account to use with it. Now I would like to use my Linksys router as an MTA, but realize it is still programmed with all of vonage's proprietary information and I do not know how to clear it. I understand that just pushing the reset button will not do it.

Hi, I'm trying to get Asterisk to connect to Vonage (softphone acct) to allow me to place and receive calls. I have successfully configured Asterisk to route inbound calls and send them to the correct extension, but I can't get outbound calls to work. I have Asterisk successfully registering with Vonage, but when an INVITE is sent out, I get a "404 Not Found" back from Vonage

I just installed Asterisk on my server and I have Vonage softphone. I need my Asterisk server to receive calls through the Vonage Softphone DID and make outgoing calls through the Vonage ATA using an X100p to connect to it. I have an IVR application that works fine from multiple DID sources, unless the call to that DID was from a Vonage service user. In this case about half the DTMF tones never get recognized by Asterisk. Has anyone else seen this? Suggestions? I'm running 1.0.9.

Does anyone have a working connection to Vonage via asterisk? (SIP, not ATA) I just signed up to test their service and they sent me a Number, Proxy, port and password.
