How to place a call to a Google Talk user?
I am trying to "dial" a GTalk, ie @gmail.com, address. I inscribed this address in jabber.conf on the buddy= line. Upon executing the Dial application, I hear only a brief brief ring, then nothing. What might be the trouble?
As the Dial application starts trying, the JABBER chatter on the console includes some "INCOMING" entries that name IP addresses. The one with

testing my asterisk 1.6.2.8-rc1 with gtalk (and JACK) - please help
Hello everyone!
I'm just trying to set up my new asterisk (version 1.6.2.8-rc1). I'd be
very grateful, if someone could help me here. I'd be very glad, if one of you
could test googletalk with me. Last time I tried (in 1.6.0.x times) it
wouldn't work in the end.
But here are my gtalk and jabber.conf files. Could you please take a look
and tell me, if the settings same sane?

gtalk/jingle full report
Hello everyone!
Philippe, you told me to make a bugreport. Well, here it comes, I'm still
not sure, if tis is a bug or a miss-configuration.
So I've put up a collection of configurations/output/debug files from a
simple asterisk session testing the gtalk call.
You can download it here:

Or I can mail it, just tell me where and I'll attach it to

GTalk/Jabber passing audio in 1.4.1!
I've just compiled Asterisk 1.4.1 and I'm happy to report that I've got
two-way audio between Google Talk and Asterisk! This IS an exciting moment
today in VoIP! This is just GREAT!

gtalk dialstring?
Hi everyone!
I couldn't find anything expressive about gtalk dialstrings. It doesn't seem
to work. I'm not sure why, so I'll start at the easiest point.
The syntax I found was:
gtalk/my_account_name/buddys_account_name at gmail.com
Is this correct?
And does any of you googletalkers know, if a simple google-mail account is
enough to use the talking bit, or do I have to

Newbie question: how to proxy the *real* caller-id on find-me/follow-me
I've got the following set up:
Someone calls into my PBX on a single number (via SIP trunk from my
carrier), and the get a voice menu of extensions.
On one of the extensions, it rings a bunch of internal SIP hardphones,
plus ringing my cellphone via a hairpin through the cairrier's SIP/PSTN
gateway.
The issue is that my cellphone shows my PBX's number, not the original
calling

using gtalk received instant messages in the dialplan
I have been doing some reading about gtalk and asterisk. Most of it is
pointed to enable using gtalk for making phonecalls. Would it be
possible to use gtalk instant messaging input (just some text send to
the gtalk account configured on an asterisk box) into the dialplan.
This way you could use gtalk im to trigger all kind of events like
sending an sms, adding sip entries to the system,

Caller ID Issue
I have a strange issue with CLID that I would appreciate if someone
could point me in the right direction. When a call comes in (either
from another SIP user on the same Asterisk box or from the ISDN PRI) the
Caller ID Name is displayed correctly, but the Caller ID Number seems to
be empty. My Grandstream phone is setting the Caller ID number to the
registered account name while SJ Phone soft

Caller ID Rewrite
Hi All,
I have a quick query which I'm sure someone will have done before.
Essentially, I have a 3rd party desktop app which does number lookup in
Outook via the manager interface. Works wonderfully. However, it's
not very clever in the number matching. I have all my contacts stored
in +country code <number> format. My service provider passes all
numbers, apart from UK

Rewriting caller ID from database?
Hi
Most of our customers have generic names like "Hospital", so I need to
rewrite their caller ID name by looking up the number in a database on the
Asterisk server, and rewriting the name such as "Reading Hospital" so that
we know who's calling.
Any idea if this can be done with Asterisk, and how to do it?
Thank you.

Custom voicemail extension greeting
Making custom "voicemail greetings" seems fairly straight forward, and I've done it.
However, I'm looking for a way to make the actual extension answer with "You've reached my Jim Dandy voice mailbox, go take a flying . . .". (OK, so maybe not), instead of "The person at extension xxxx, is unavailable"
Possible? Easy? Under my nose?

EuroISDN+ and Callers name
I'm running chan_capi on a number of systems in France, France Telecom
offer the possibility of having the caller's name, but say we must
configure for EuroISDN+. Google doesn't show much and the best I could
see was in Dutch.
Any Europeans solved this one?

Hi,
i've just finished setting up gtalk connection with asterisk. it works
nice, audio is full duplex.
i just have one question which i could not find an exact answer to. Is
gtalk able to send dtmf codes? Because i'd like to listen to my
voicemails while away from home.
I've been googling for half an hour, i found some sort of jingle
protocol which i'm not sure what to
