OpenWengo + Asterisk?
OpenWengo has just released WengoPhone v2.1.0: http://www.openwengo.org/index.php/openwengo/public/homePage/news?payload[newsId]=0 . Has anyone had success (or notable failures) using it as a client for Asterisk? Any advice on integrating it into dialplan, apps, config DBs, etc? -- (C) Matthew Rubenstein

Asterisk call quality detection
Hi Chaps, Is there a way to detect/highlight poor quality voice calls going through an asterisk server? Was thinking of picking up a cdr record or some other variable showing poor quality on calls when the internet is having issues. Is there any qos or poor audio quality variables available? Cheers, Taff. ___________________________________________________________ Yahoo! Answers - Got

Voicemail to Text Transcription(was: Re: [asterisk-dev] Voicemailto text translation)
(This subthread is more appropriate to -users than to -dev, so it is crossposted only to mark its transition. Please reply on the -user list only.) What are the cheapest prices for (humans) transcribing voicemail to text as a service? The absolute cheapest, regardless of (known) quality - the quality only has to compete with (cheaper) automated transcription, which is abysmal quality. On Wed,

read write or only read fields in cdr?
Hello, I created a new field named pre_dst of type varchar(80) exactly like dst field in cdr table. In the dialplan I put: exten => _7.,1,Set(CDR(pre_dst)=${EXTEN:1}) and when I call, all goes fine except that pre_dst has always NULL value in cdr. Do you know why? Is something wrong I did? I know that original fields in cdr are only readable, but in this cas pre_dst is one I created

Stereo Conferences?
Are there any speakerphones or other conferencing HW phones that play the audio in stereo? Either their own speakers, or jacks for an amp with room speakers? Is there any way for Asterisk to deliver call legs with stereo channels in the RTP stream? If not, is it possible for Asterisk to keep 2 separate calls, or pairs of legs in a conference call, synced exactly enough (including traveling over

IAX Java Softphone?
Does anyone know of an IAX softphone in Java, whether applet or application? Even the most minimum featureset, just voice and dialing, or even embedded in some other app/let. Preferably GPL. Thanks. -- (C) Matthew Rubenstein

"Cheapest" way to determine channels in a group from outside asterisk?
I need to determine the number of active calls in a group from outside of Asterisk. Currently I poll the manager API and parse the channel status list but this is becoming too expensive on CPU. What are my options? What is considered "standard practice" ? Update a DB field? Poll the manager api? Use an asterisk -rv 'some command' call?

OT - lowest power, cheapest python interpreter
I recommend the Cubieboards or Linkspirt. The advantage of both of these over a RaspberryPI: Mainline kernel. See what it takes for a special RPi kernel over on the Centos-arm list. Sata interface. What are you going to run your stuff on? A slow SD card or a slow USB drive? See my install howto over at: http://www.htt-consult.com/Centos7-armv7.html And in fact, I have a LinkSprite
