wine monopolizes the sound
Hello, I have a sound problem with wine: when it is running, the sound works fine, but no other application can play any sound. If I have sound playing elsewhere and then launch wine, then wine do not play any sound. I am using pulseaudio, debian sid 64 bits and I can play several sounds at the same time. This problem happen even if pulseaudio is disabled, and with every wine version I tried

Playing Games with Wine while listening to music
I have this problem: When playing a PC game via wine while listening to music with let's say Amarok, there's no sound in the PC game anymore. It's like the sound channel is occupied by the music player so wine cannot playback any soundfiles. Sounds are working if I play a Linux game like Nexuiz while running some music via a music player (ok, completely different, I know, but

wine and alsa oss emulation with aoss
hi wine community, i recently wrote to this list in my effort to get traktor dj studio to work with wine. many thanks to robert reif, who got it fully working with the wineoss driver and native oss. the problem was, that wineoss needs mmap access to the soundcard to correctly initilize dsound. dsound is needed for 4channel playback (master&headphone) my configuration is fc2 with kernel

Preloading shared library with libVirt
Hi, I am trying to preload two shared libraries while running Qemu using libvirt. To preload the shared libraries I have added an environment variable in the $domain.xml file with the following command: ``` virt-xml generic --edit --confirm --qemu-commandline

pulseaudio wine
Hi. I can confirm that pulse does indeed work quite well with wine. I've been using oss emulation and padsp together for a long time now, and I've had very few if any problems with it. I simply use Code: aoss padsp wine whatever and it's fine. I don't know if I need to use padsp after aoss after reading this thread, but it's what I've been doing. So pulse does mostly

Wine and ALSA
Hi, I added some nice IP telephone programs and other sound related applications to the next version of WineTools. The problem is that only oss sound is reliable. With it it works very nice. But if during running a program another linux program accesses sound, the sound output of the Wine program is dying often does not come back. This is typical as only one program can access the oss

llvm-strip creates unloadable shared objects on linux-armv7hf
Hello, Recently we tried to streamline our toolchain by removing some GNU tools with LLVM tools to avoid having multiple copies of strip, nm, ar and similar tools. Today we ran into a really strange issue where shared objects where not loadable. We where able to track this down to llvm-strip with default arguments creating a shared object that doesn't load correctly. It works if we switch

No sound in Wine under OSS after update.
Hey guys, Under Wine v1.1.14, my audio worked perfectly in World of Warcraft using the aoss wrapper. Today I updated to Wine v1.1.15 and to my surprise... No audio under OSS. ALSA works just fine except for the 2 second sound delay on everything (very annoying known issue). I've tried swapping sound cards, increasing my sound buffer size, reverting back to Wine 1.1.14, and reinstalling my

LD_PRELOAD temporary patch
I've used that patch to close the hole. This patch is temporary and doesn't fix real trouble maker - problem in new version in getenv() (after 6.3 it got changed to something monstrous and non-working right if environment has only one variable), hope it will get fixed soon. *** rtld.c.orig Tue Dec 1 16:55:13 2009 --- rtld.c Tue Dec 1 16:55:55 2009 *************** *** 357,374 ****

llvm-strip creates unloadable shared objects on linux-armv7hf
Hello Rui, Thanks for your reply. I tried with the keep-section argument and that made the shared library work. Should these sections be kept around by default maybe? -- Tobias On Thu, Oct 17, 2019 at 11:06 AM Rui Ueyama <ruiu at google.com> wrote: > > One thing I noticed is that llvm-strip seemed to remove a .ARM.attributes section.
