Warning LSP Low
All,
Am running asterisk on an Opteron 165 with 4GB RAM and 1x80GB and 1x320GB
SATA for a call center application (running VICIDIAL). Asterisk CLI
(accessed by screen logging asterisk on startup and entering the allocated
screen) gives me 'Warning LSP Low' and the voice quality goes down when this
message pops up!
That is, to start, we use:
`/usr/bin/screen -L -d -m -S asterisk

G729 copy protection
Hi All,
I have been trying to get the Solaris version of the G729 codec to work
with asterisk 1.2.17 and 1.2.22. However, I come up against the very
same error every time I try to install it. Has anyone out there seen
this error, taken from the asterisk console straight from startup:
[codec_g729a.so] => (Annex A/B (floating point) G.729 Codec (optimized
for i386))

Codec G729 no longer works.
I upgraded my server from Fedora Core 4 to Fedora Core 5.
I was wondering if anybody else has run into the problem and know's the
fix?
I recompiled asterisk and if I don't have
the /usr/lib/asterisk/modules/codec_g729a.so
file in place it works.
I use or used to use the licensed G729 Codec from Digium.
This is the error message from asterisk -vvg:

G729 issues on 1.4 beta 3
Hello Everyone,
I just upgraded to the latest beta version and I am running into one
problem. We purchased g729a licenses from digium and they aren't
loading anymore. If I roll back asterisk to 1.2.10 the codecs work
fine. I've downloaded the new 1.4 version of the codec from their
website and re-registerd everything with no luck.
Here is the error message:

Problem: Using timelimit (L) and Macro (M) in Dial from AGI
Am using perl AGI to invoke the dial command thus:
$AGI->exec('Dial',"$numtodial2|30|L($maxcall:$msgtime)|M(conn^1002)");
What I expected that this will do is:
1. call the number using the string $numtodial2 - works OK
2. Set call limit to $maxcall and play a message $msgtime milliseconds
before the call - works OK
3. On connect of the call send it to the macro conn

Leading 0 in PRI outbound
All
We have a PRI line setup on an asterisk box using TE110P. Both outbound and
inbound are working fine BUT the provider claims that all our numbers come
prefixed with a '0' (in India a 0 prefix indicates long distance) and that
could become an issue with local calls.
National Numbering Plan for Landline in India is typically 0+Area Code +
phone number. If it's a local number, you

g729 on 1.4.10.1
I have a fresh 1.4.10.1 installation that appears to have a problem
with g729 pass-through. I can see the gateway in question sending an
INVITE using g729b. However, the Asterisk is only sending g711 in the
INVITE to my Polycom phone.
[gateway]
disallow=all
allow=g729
[phone]
disallow=all
allow=ulaw
allow=alaw

There's the codec configs for the gateway and the phone in question.

Can't get G729 working after buying a license.
List,
I purchased 2 g729 licenses but I can't get it to answer a g729 call
from a cisco router with a vwic card. In the debug output below you
will see that asterisk thinks it only supports: (gsm|ulaw|alaw|h263)
when it should support g729 according to the config also listed below.
The real odd thing is I can place g729 calls to the router, just not
from the router to *. Anyone have any

G.729a beta codec on old Pentiums
Hi,
I've been trying to get the G.729a beta codec running with my remote
Asterisk box that talks IAX2 to my local Asterisk box.
Digium fixed the problem I was having in registering the beta codec, so that
now works fine. I've removed the old codec_g729b.so from
/usr/lib/asterisk/modules and put in place the codec_g729a.so beta from
digium FTP. My CVS build of Asterisk is about a

Upgrading Asterisk witk G729 license installed
I've an Asterisk 1.2.4 installation, where I've also installed the G729

not sure if I'll lost the license in the process (and if I'll be able to
recover it later!!!).
Is there any special consideration I've to keep in mind in this case, or
should I just run the typical "make + make

codec_g729a implicated in file descriptor buildup
Hello,
I wonder if anyone else has noticed this.
I see a pair of calls to pipe() within the codec_g729a, and suddenly, I have
a leaked file descriptor that remains until asterisk dies.
Now, maybe no-one sees this, mainly because I have no g729 licenses on the
machines where this happens. And conversely,
I haven't yet studied servers that do have licenses. Why have
codec_g729a.so loaded if
