Digium S101I as a traveling companion
I have a few questions with regards to Digium S101I adapter. I would like to use it as a traveling companion, plugging it into various networks (all behind firewall I assume). I'll be registering it into my asterisk server (behind firewall, port 4569 will be open). 1.) If I plug that small adapter S101I into another network will that network have to have port 4569 open as well? 2.) If

Digium adaper S101I - IAXy Losing connection
I have one Digium adapter S101I on a local network and I'm losing the connection periodically. I'm using Asterisk-1.2.21.1 There is no pattern, sometimes it stays connected for a weak sometimes longer. In comparison I have few Sipura adapters and they stay connected for months (never lost single connection). -- #Joseph

S101I (IAX) limitation
That little Digium adapter S101I is a nice and compact (good for travel) but has a serious limitation, it doesn't support bridging. If I have four/five of these units registered to my asterisk server (over the Internet) and with standard DSL or Cable connection all for of them connected and in use (utilizing G711); my upload bandwidth will get saturated as all of them have to go via my

CallerID outbound
We're using Asterisk@Home 2.8 (same thing occurs with earlier versions). We have it set up so that if we don't answer our internal SIP phones it does "follow me" to our cell phones. When Asterisk forwards the calls to our cell phones, the Caller ID shows our outbound number, not the caller's number. We have 3 queues set up (1,2, and 3) and our extensions (801 and 802) are

No sound?? HELP
I just put in a new Asterisk@Home 2.8 system. Trunk is connected via SIP to ViaTalk. I had an older Asterisk@Home system up and running that was working fine and I replicated settings over to the new box. When I call 7777 from an internal SIP extension I can hear the IVR menu just fine. However, when I call from a POTS phone to our number and it comes in via ViaTalk over SIP the call connects

Handset recommendations
Seeking recommendations on handsets for use with Asterisk. I've been looking at the Aastra 480i CT because of its cordless handset and also the new Linksys SPA-942. Anyone using either one of these with comments on them? Any other thoughts on good reasonably priced handsets? This is for just a couple of people who work from home offices and will be connecting to an Asterisk server hosted

Iaxy clicking
Hi, I have three Iaxy devices (s101i) parts. Two of them seem to work fine. The third plays a loud repeating click sound when an analog phone is plugged in. I can provision all of them, and make calls to all of them. The clicking one will blink when a call is incoming, but no audio from the call can be heard on the handset, and the caller only hears silence. The same handset works on the

Cell phone that can be connected to standad phone switch network
Are there any cell phone (gadgets) that can be connected to standard switch phone network? (ability to check email would be a plus). Digium adapter S101i can be connected to any network and it allow a standard phone to act as your local extension over the Internet (by registering to asterisk), it works "almost" perfectly. So it would be handy to have a cellular phone that can be

ATA with pulse dialing support over FXS
Hi. Does anyone know about a simple one-fxs ATA with pulse dialing support that can work with Asterisk? A SIP one would be ok. I've been told that the Digium S101i IAXy does support pulse dialing; although it's a iax2-only ata it could be enough. I need a bunch of them to convert some old fashioned rotary phones into VoIP ones (I'd like to disassemble the ATAs to remove the boards

IAXy Configuration for Alternate Server
Hi, I've provisioned an IAXy adapter on a network segment local to my asterisk server. Provisioning is fine, as is the registration and use of said device. Since the local address is private address space, I setup the public IP address of my Asterisk server as the alternate. When taking it to another location (NAT again behind a WRT54G), it doesn't seem to work. Here's my current

Soekris net4801-50 + IAXY
Hi, I'm having an issue with a soekris net4801 board and a S101i "IAXy" device. When I connect a successfully provisioned IAXy directly via a crossover cable into an ethernet port of the soekris, the link led turns on orange so i'ts 10Mb and the activity led blinks like if there is some action going on but when I try 'tcpdump -nettti sis1' I see nothing going on, no

Digium Iaxy S100 Factory Default?
Hi All, I have two old S100 units (the blue ones, not the newer black ones). I am trying to reset these to factory default using the following instructions, but it is not working. Does anyone have any other suggestions to reset this model of the adapter? Tried this: 1. Remove all of the cables, except for the power cable. 2. The factory reset button is next to the RJ45 jack. Press and hold the

asterisk-users Digest, Vol 54, Issue 53
Hi Steve; Do u mean by the Iaxy2 is that IAX digium gateway adaptor? If yes, then it has a codec limitation and it does not take ddns name (it needs IP address), also it is gateway and not IP Phone. Or u mean something else? Do u have a link for it so I can see it? Regards Bilal > >> > >>> Anyone knows an IAX IP Phone works fine and > tested? > >> >
