DISA
We are using DISA with local SIP users. The user enters in a 2 digit
code then they get a dialtone and the phone dials out. The problem is
that the calls waits 10 seconds after the outgoing number is dialed, no
matter what I put for the timeout values. Anyone else using DISA that
has run into this?

choppy audio playback
Oh, wise Centaurs,
On the last install (Suse) I was running on this old notebook (Dell
i600m) the audio worked fine. Specifically, Realplayer and onsite
players (like you get at NPR and other sites) and youtube played just
fine. But with this current install (CentOS 5.3, fully updated) all of
those sources just mentioned play choppy. It's like an echo so severe
that it's impossible to

Choppy sound ONLY when a voicemail is left
Hi All,
Whenever a call comes in via the ISDN and somebody leaves a voicemail,
the sound file recorded is very choppy. If I actually take the call, the
sound is not choppy so it's obviously something to do with the Asterisk
box itself having to do the recording. Perhaps the sound card drivers?
I'm using the stock i810_audio (OSS) drivers on Fedora Core 1.
If I call from a local VoIP

FW: one way choppy sound problem !
Hello list,
I've been experiencing choppy sound as well.
The version on Asterisk I was using originally was dated 10/24/03 (I
think), the problem appeared after I updated from that version.
My setup is a little different though. I'm having choppy sound only on
some incoming calls -- from PSTN->PBX (between spans on a TE410) and
PSTN->SIP.
We use Cisco 7940 handsets and we also

Asterisk to Linphone sound playback delay, and then choppy
Hi,
I've got this PXA270 board set-up with Linphone 1.2.0 and am trying to get linphonec to work with Asterisk.
I have the echo test working, but when I dial in to this, to voicemail or anything else using Playback() to play a sample, I hear nothing for ages (10-15 secs) and then little sections. With the echo test, I get the tail of the message (...pressing the pound

Re: Choppy sound in voicemail usingAsterisk1.2.11 on CENTOS4 guest on vmware server
Andrew,
Please find links below to sound clips from different combination. You will see that the 2.6.9.34 kernel on trixbox 2beta still does not sound ok. What did you do on the trixbox 1.2.2 vmware load to make it work better? I say better because it is still not perfect as you will notice that it accelerates near the end. I really appreciate your help and the great work you are doing. Also,

loaded Unreal Tournament (GTOY) runs choppy Ubuntu 11.10
I loaded Unreal Tournament in wine 1.3.37 and everything works that I tried but the video is choppy. The sound was not choppy but the video was. It did not matter if I was playing online or the bots on my computer the video was choppy. I tried raising and lowering the video resolutions and it did not seem to effect the problem for better or worse. I am using Ubuntu 64 bit 11.10. I am on an AMD

Choppy Sound On Bridging From SIP->IAX
I am experiencing choppy sound when I bridge from a SIP peer to an IAX
peer. I am running Asterisk 1.4.13 on a 2.6.22.9 kernel (Fedora). I am
experiencing choppy sound from the SIP peer to the IAX peer but not
vice-versa. I know that this is not a bandwidth issue because I don't
have choppy sound (with the same codec) when bridging IAX->IAX peers or
SIP->SIP peers. My timing source is

Amnesia - The Decent running very choppy
Hey. I'm new to Linux based operating systems. A friend of mine introduced me a year ago and I finally decided to try it so try to bear with me here.
The problem I've been having is that I've managed to get Amnesia to work under the latest Wine version (1.3.31) but the game is really choppy. I've tried messing with the Wine configuration and the in-game configuration but it

choppy sound with playback, background, etc... but not with musiconhold
Hello,
I have an asterisk 1.2.18 working fine, the only problem is that all
applications that play audio, sound like "tremolo" or "vibrato", but
musiconhold plays fine.
The same audio file (wav, mp3, ...) works fine with Musiconhold()
but not with Playback() or Background()...
If I move app_playback.so from this system to another asterisk,
playback works fine...
Do you

Asterisk and SER - choppy sound with G.729
Hi,
We are using Asterisk running on FreeBSD, as IVR / Voicemail for SER. We have redirected certain calls from SER to *. On * there is some 'testing' extension. It's simply playing some demo now ;-)
As long as I use plain G.711 the sound is nice. When I switch to G.729 the sound is choppy, not recognizable. What is going on? Debug shows everything is normal..
I understand that all

Hi there
I europe alaw is usual. I have a SIP Phone which perferes ulaw.
When my * box has to transcode alaw to ulaw the sound get's one way choppy.

I have had no success in getting the voicemail working on Asterisk 1.2.11 on CENTOS4(2.6 kernel) guest on vmware server 1.0.1. I tried with or without ztdummy device, renice -20 on asterisk process and even real-time priority on the host Windows XP box for the vmware process. I am running on an AMD Athlon 64 X2 4600+. The behaviour is when the voicemail answer, the voice sound ok but when

Older DirectX games, choppy
Hello:
I've been a user of Wine for quite some time, but have an issue that I cannot figure out. Hopefully it is somewhat simple.
I'm trying to get some older kids games working (most of the games are dated around 2002 or so). I know they use some version of DirectX. They aren't even 3D, they are all 2D games. The issue is that some of them are really choppy, and the sound is
