Asterisk and Cisco PRI gateway config
Hello, I am using a Cisco-2,811 router with PRI as a gateway between Asterisk and Nortel TX-1. I had problems with name transfer and with the help of Cisco support I've fixed it. Enclosed here are the definitions needed for it. BTW, Cisco's CCM is using MGCP thus the Q.sig is handled by CCM. Here I am using SIP so the router must decode/encode the Q.sig. The Nortel should be defined

Some info about Cisco's 79xx, and Sipura's phones
Hello folks, I've did some tests with different phones and Asterisk last two days and here are some results, which I want to share with audience. Cisco's 79xx and Sipura's phones/adapters on INVITE always reply with their preferred codec. So, for example, if Cisco's/Sipura's phone has preferred_codec g729a(18) and it receives INVITE from UA which has preferred codec

Cisco 7905/7912 SIP image location (on Cisco's site)
Hello all, I feel dumb asking this, but does anyone have a link to the SIP firmware for the 7912 on Cisco's site? I have a SmartNet contract, but I just can't find the link (you can search for "7960 sip firmware" and find that fast). Thanks for the help, Jeb Campbell jebc@c4solutions.net

Cisco's description of echo
We are having trouble with an installation that is getting a lot of echo on some calls. The installation is all SIP phones and they have a VoIP provider. When we call through the voip provider and into another of their customers (voip throughout) there is no echo problem. If we call in their landline, through the TDM400's FXO to one of the SIP phones, there is no echo problem. Sometimes

rescue?
Probably a simple question, but humor me: Let''s say I have a page (in Rails) that lets a user type a shell command (say, ''ping blah.com'') into a form and it fires off a worker that then updates that page using AJAX (all of this is working so far). How would I correctly wrap the worker in a begin..rescue so that it spits out ''invalid command''

rescue action doesn''t catch exception
I define rescue_action_in_public method in my application controller. But it fails to catch any exception thrown. I could catch the exception if i define rescue_action method instead of rescue_action_in_public method. Any idea why? Thanks, Andy. -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

Can I catch something like Errno::EBADF with rescue?
All, I am using Net::HTTP to make requests for URLs in my app. When I get a bad server, I get "Bad file descriptor - connect(2)" message on a ERRNO:EBADF error. Can I catch with rescue or otherwise gracefully react to that error? Thanks, Wes -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

actionpack-3.0.3/lib/action_dispatch/middleware/rescue.rb
I was trying to understand how exceptions are caught. There are two rescue.rb files. One is under ActionController. I understand how it is invoked and what it does. But the one under action_dispatch I don''t see how it gets used. I see the autoload for it in actionpack-3.0.3/lib/action_dispatch.rb but I don''t see a Rescue class created anywhere. Can someone help me to

Data Rescue Mac
When our important data were not tampered with and removed correctly, we have a need to recover and restore data to make the data valid and effective. rescue_from failing to rescue [from]
Having some weird failures of rescue_from in all my specs. They still rescue in actual usage, just not in my specs. Made a pastie of the code: http://pastie.org/257399 This is with latest [as of 1:00 PM Eastern time zone] rspec/rspec-rails/edge. Thanks in advance for any replies on this. begin, rescue, end for the whole darn app
Hello. Imagine how paranoid and ugly code would look if one put a ''begin, rescue, end'' in every action in the app... With server, mysql, etc errors, is there a way to rescue anything weird when (not if :( ) it were to ever happen? Thoughts?
