Asterisk ZAP/DAHDI reads phantom digit on overlap PRI
Hi, I've noticed that a small but meaningful quota of calls from my Alcatel PBX to Asterisk are failing. This does not always happen and it is not easily reproducible but on high traffic I do get a large number of cases. Example: Alcatel PBX extension 7085 calls Asterisk PBX extension 6145 over a PRI E1 link. I see this in the Asterisk log: Dec 14 14:10:31 VERBOSE[11378] logger.c: --

Zap 1.4 error line 0: Unable to open master device '/dev/zap/ctl'
I've looked over EVERY resource I can find, but have run short of a solution. I'm running CentOS 4.4. Just installed Asterisk 1.4 and Zaptel 1.4 and libpri, but when I run ztcfg I get this error: line 0: Unable to open master device '/dev/zap/ctl' I realize this is a udev error (or from what I've read), but I cannot find out how to resolve this. I've reinstalled zaptel

DAHDI trouble (again) Unable to open master device '/dev/zap/ctl'
Because of a kernel upgrade i needed to recompile DAHDI. Dahdi 2.0.0 with 2.0.1 was working ok, after the reboot and compile it doesn't start anymore. Firstly it tells me it is using /etc/zaptel.conf which is deprecated, if i remove that file it complains that this file is missing..... Secondly i get an error about a missing dev file which refers to zap (which seems strange to me because

Here is the complete output of ztcfg: Notice: Configuration file is /etc/zaptel.conf line 0: Unable to open master device '/dev/zap/ctl' 1 error(s) detected It appears that none of the zaptel devices have been created. I did not notice any errors during the make install. Does anyone have any suggestions? I know the hardware works, because it was working as my asterisk 1.2 test

red alarm on span - do channels in the group automatically get skipped over?
Hello, If I put two spans' worth of channels, say 1-23 from span 1 and 25-47 in span 2, in one group, but only span 2 was showing OK and the other was down / showing a RED alarm, would asterisk automatically skip over trying to use channels 1-23 when doing outbound calls? e.g., dial(dahdi/g1/(number) would just jump to channel 25? Testing seems to bear this out, but I'm not positive

ZT_SPANCONFIG failed on span 1: Invalid argument (22)
I'm trying to load ztdummy on my Asterisk, running in a XEN domain. I've modified the code to disable the use of an RTC. I can load the zaptel module just fine, the ztdummy also loads without problem. But when running ztcfg I get this error. ----- s n i p ----- graham:~# ztcfg -vvvv Zaptel Version: 1.4.6 Echo Canceller: MG2 Configuration ====================== SPAN 1: CCS/ AMI

no lights on TE405P, but shows up in lspci, modules loaded
I pulled a working TE405P from one box and put it in another box. I compiled the zaptel modules, modprobe zaptel, modprobe wct4xxp, but no lights on the card come on. I do an lspci and the card shows up there. I ran ztcfg -vv and got the error message Unable to open master device '/dev/zap/ctl' so I followed the instructions in README.udev the error message went away, but now when I

PRI span problem - no D channel
Hi, I have the following happen to me after the restart of one of my servers: out of my 3 PRIs (all configured with the same technical settings), the last one isn't coming back. It's underutilized (chances it didn't get a call since my reboot), if it makes a difference . The PRI goes from provisioned to unprovisioned, and I get this regularly: [Jun 22 09:03:48]

Sound breaking. Because of Tormenta2 PRI Interface Card or something else
Hi everybody, I need to know about sound quailty issues from those who have experience with Tormenta2 PRI Interface. Also how to make it work with new versions of Asterisk and Zaptel. And also suggestion if it is a good idea to switch to some newer card from Sangoma or Digium, or Tormenta should work fine. I have sound breaking many times a day over the trunks. Server is AMD Athlon 2.4 GHz with

Adding 4000 Lines to asteriskdb via asterisk -rx ?
Hi there, I want to add 4000 Callerids and Callernames to my asterisk-db. (/var/lib/asterisk/astdb) I do not want an external database or an sql-database because I do not want asterisk to depend on external processes. However, when I do 4000 "database put number name" via a shellscript and "asterisk -rx" I only have 600 entries later in my asterisk- database. The asterisk

asterisk as non-root/best practices
Hi, I have set up asterisk to run as non root, and allow admin users to log in to the server as asterisk, which gives them privileges to edit configs in the asterisk home directory. As for connecting to the console with 'asterisk -r' - this by default does not work as asterisk is owned stored in /usr/sbin/asterisk I am reading that the best way to solve this is to use 'visudo' -

ZAP device reference in Zaptel 1.4 - SIMILAR
Well, I'm experiencing a similar problem with my setup... debian etch, asterisk 1.4.2, zaptel 1.4.1, ... I cannot find the chan_zap.so module file anywhere, tried recompiling with zaptel 1.4.0... no change... I tried 'make menuselect', and going to the channels-part, chan_zap is marked XXX -> dependencies missing: and this is the message for it, as an explanation. Zapata Telephony
