Solution to my Grandstream lockups
Like many others on this list, I had been experiencing periodic
lockups with my Grandstream products (Handytone 286 ATA & BudgeTone
101). The lockups consisted of seemingly dead devices, no dialtone or
response, until I power cycled via software or hardware. The
workaround had been to reboot the device every 30 minutes with a cron
job. I contacted Grandstream and although they didn't

CVS Changes (NAT-SIP)
I had been running an older patched CVS to get VOIP working with NAT and
everything had been running fine. I just built * on a new box with
CVS-01/18/04-12:19:25. And now I can get remote SIP users to register.
Has anything major changed...

Sip re-register / delay problem.
Hello,
For the moment I have the following settings in my sip.conf. I want to
optimize them to archive the following things:
- for the moment all my users will re-register too often. I want that only
lagged users to re-register quickly.
- check from time to time all users but no too often to see if is logged and
can be called.
Overall i want only lagged users to reregister and users with good

registration at Voipbuster times out
Hi,
I am new here on this list, and have a problem of which I hope that somebody here can help me with it.
I have a Voipbuster account, with which I would like to make phone calls via my Asterisk PBX. If I let X-Lite register directly at voipbuster.com, everything is OK, but if I let Asterisk register there, it says "registration for XXXXXX@sip.voipbuster.com timed out, trying again",

SIP / GrandStream Configuration
Hi there!
I installed the BudgetTone (GrandStream) on my LAN without any problems.
Then, I moved it to another location using a D-Link NAT.
I opened 5060 (SIP) and 5000 to 5008 for RTP. I also fixed the IP address
of the BudgetTone.
When I receive a call on my Asterisk, it would ring my FXS as before.
However, after I pick up, it hangs within a few seconds (Hungup Zap1-1 in
the log).

Codecs and negotiations
For some reason I now seem unable to control which codec is chosen. The
problem happens with outgoing calls to Stanaphone. Even if I chose
disallow=all and allow=ulaw as the only codecs it connects with GSM.
Has anyone else got problems with these settings? Any suggestions? As I
recalled it, such a setup would not establish a call if the ulaw-codec
was not offered by the provider. Stanaphone has

Multi-line phones - Asterisk uses wrong callerid
I have some phones (and an ATA) that are shared between two users who
each have separate voicemail but they are not behaving as desired nor
expected.
Incoming calls show up on the correct lines.
Calls originating from the device are seen, at the terminating device,
as coming from the account listed last in sip.conf, regardless of the
line selected.
This creates three main issues I would like

SIP Registration Timeout, No FW
Hi people,
My asterisk wont register with any sip providers, I have tried three
different but they all end up with:
Sep 26 17:36:36 NOTICE[114696]: chan_sip.c:4035 sip_reg_timeout:
Registration for 'whatever@provider.tld' timed out, trying again
There is no firewall and my server has a public IP. Could this be a Asterisk
problem?

Asterisk Registering to other SIP servers.
Hello,
I am trying to REGISTER asterisk to a SIP server, which is listening on Port
6060 (not 5060).
The sip.conf file contains
register=18474201111:quintum@192.168.2.94:6060/18474201111
maxexpirey=3600
defaultexpirey=120
But the REGISTER message is sent to Port 6060, but the Request-URI still
contains, 5060. This is being rejected by SIP server.

Asterisk and Broadvoice, no incoming voice
I just signed up for the BroadVoice service a few hours ago, but for
the life of me I can't get any incoming voice. The incoming
connection is fine as it rings my extension from outside, but I can't
hear anyone talking. Outgoing voice is working fine though.
I've been looking through the archives, but I haven't found a solution
to the problem yet. I even tried another router

Where is the difference sip.conf - Real-time ?
I have two phones (111 and 112) on a LAN, and I have on a users site a
phone 333.
phone 111 uses sip.conf, while 112 uses real-time set-up.
111 can call 333 AND the audio is working
112 can call 333 but audio is just white noise.
333 can call 111 or 112 and audio is working.
The phones are identically set-up (just user name = phone number and
password are different)
