recommendable softphones / X-Lite / Zoiper for amd64?
Hi,
I am on amd64 Linux and not really too happy with twinkle, linphone
and ekiga. Unfortunately, X-Lite and Zoiper, even though they
provide Linux versions (w00t!) have only x86 versions for download.
Do you guys know of amd64 versions of those, or can you recommend
other softphones that will run on amd64, or which come with source
code?
Thanks,

[Softphones] ZoIPer vs. XLite?
Hello
I need to hook up someone's remote PC onto our Asterisk server over
the Net. There are firewalls on each side, so I figured it's time to
give IAX a try, and see if it's less of a pain to use than SIP. And
since IAX hardphones are pretty are, I guess I'll go softphone.
Apparently, the two most well-known IAX and SIP clients for Windows
are ZoIPer and X-Lite, respectively.

Regarding remote registration of SIP user on zoiper
Hello list,
I am new to this list and have been using Asterisk as part of my research project for about 2 weeks now.
I would like to get your thoughts on a scenario that I am attempting at the moment. I haven't had luck until now.
In this scenario, I am trying to register a SIP user configured on the zoiper client installed on a laptop, which is on the same Local Area Network, with the

zoiper iax registation: "facility rejected"
I'm trying to setup zoiper ( formerly idefisk ) to use my asterisk

I've setup zoiper for iax, set the ip address to work's fixed ip
address, user: home, password: password
but the zoiper log shows:

Audio Delay of 1-2 seconds, one way with Zoiper soft phones
Hi All
I will do a test call from a soft phone to my mobile. I can speak into my
headset and the audio is heard instantly. But if I speak into my mobile
there is a 1-2 second delay in the Audio. I am using SIP.
I am only finding it in the Zoiper Softphones that we are using. All other
phones don't seem to have it present. Sadly the customer is Quite attached
to the Zoiper.
I have set QOS =

Extra REGISTER messages sent by Asterisk when subscribe for MWI is defined in zoiper
Hello all,
I have an Asterisk installation with Kamailio using realtime integration. I
have gotten my clients to register, but there is something odd about the
sip message flow with some of my clients. My clients are Zoiper and
Asterisk is 11.10.2.
When I set 'Subscribe to MWI' value to 'both', after a normal, successful
registration Asterisk begins to send REGISTER messages to

1.6, t.38 and zoiper - t38_udptl or t38pt_udptl ?
Hi,
1. Has anyone got any success when send a TIFF file form one zoiper
softphone to another ?
I tried using Zoiper 2.18 free edition in windows but I'm seeing 415
Unsupported media replies.
2. Here (http://www.voipinfo.org/wiki/view/Asterisk+T.38), you can read :
"Also, try using:
t38_udptl=yes
t38pt_rtp=no
t38pt_tcp=no

Looking for a good lightweight Linux softPhone
I used to use IDEFISK, but since it was taken over/renamed into Zoiper
it's been really hard work - now I'm told that they won't support my
chosen distribution - Debian Etch - the current stable version of Debian I
prefer.
So, looking to dump Zoiper and go with something else - I want something
light-weigh (So that rules out Ekiga - and Zoiper was going down the
bloatware route

IAX2 speex payload using ZoIPer
Using Wireshark I can see that ZoIPer always send a 160 byte payload.
First few payloads contain 20 bytes of data (what I believe to be a mode
3 frame, ie first byte in 0x18 - 0x1F range), followed by 0x7B (21st
byte), ie. 5 bit 0x0F terminator padded with 011. ... and then zeroes
all the way up to 160 bytes.
... but then after a few payloads there are more following these 21
bytes ...

Softphone question
I'm afraid I already know the answer because I've done a lot of searching,
but does anyone know of a softphone that supports a central phone book and
paging (like the sip autoanswer option of some hardphones)
Thanks,

No subject
an external program, which at this stage, is not customizable ...
I don't know if alternatives (LiMO, Android, ...) would be more open to this
customization but for Symbian, not only Nokia SIP client wouldn't let you
autoanswer to SIP calls, but any other SIP client complying to Symbian
design wouldn't support autoanswer.

Callfiles to Meetme Fails (was: RE: Using Local Channels with Originate)
I have Meetme conferencing compiled for Debian as per
http://powerontech.com/freepbx-on-debian.htm . I drop a callfile in the
outgoing dir, and it intitiates a call to a local extension as a
channel, but the call seems to block on the Meetme() command. That
extension completes the outgoing Dial(SIP) command to my phone,
announcing that leg is the only member of the conference, and just
waits. If I

Dialout to Meetme Fails?
I'm trying to use Asterisk (v1.2.11) make a callback that dials both
legs of the call into a Meetme() room together, but I keep getting
"conf-invalid" messages.
I created a callfile (/var/spool/asterisk/outgoing/out.call) that
specifies a Local channel (extension) which contains a Dial() command to
the "dialer", and an extension which contains a Dial() command to the
