Winbind idmap & Active Directory
Hey all, I'm running the latest and greatest CentOS4 here, along with Samba and Winbind coupled to an Active Directory server. It's all working smoothly, bar one little bit, the idmap gui and uid directives. It appears to be ignoring them completely. I've pasted the relevant directives below... winbind separator = + idmap uid = 10000-20000 idmap gid = 10000-20000 winbind enum users =

FXO recommendation
Hi all, With the gamut of FXO cards out there, I'm looking for a recommendation for home use. I have a nicely working Asterisk 1.4 system that just requires an FXO card to connect my NTL PSTN to it. My previous X101P clone seems to have kicked the bucket. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Regards Kyle -- Kyle Gordon kyle@lodge.glasgownet.com http://lodge.glasgownet.com

Issues with zaptel on FC3 - don't know how to fix zaptel after yum update
I have installed FC3 using the notes from lesnet http://www.voip-info.org/tiki-index.php?page=Asterisk+Fedora+Core+3 It worked very well, worked first time. My configuration consists of: (1) TDM400P w/ 2 FXS daughterboards and w/1 FXO daughterboard I use yum update to update my installation. After the update and reboot, I attempted to recompile zaptel, Zapata, libpri, asterisk. No errors,

Problems with zaptel and voice prompts/voicemail
I've looked all around, and I can't find an answer to this. I apologize if this has been discussed already or is buried somewhere in voip-info.org. I have an asterisk setup on linux 2.6.11.11 kernel, a revision E/F TDM400P, and Polycom IP501 phones. As soon as I load the zaptel module into the kernel, the voice prompts and voicemail system ceases to work. The asterisk logs

1.4.?? or ZapTel 1.4.X DIGITAL Calls are Broken
Don't you just hate it when something was working and when you come to use it in anger it's broken :-( Something in the, fairly, recent series of Asterisk updates has broken DIGITAL call passthrough. I've an ISDN PBX behind my Asterisk Box (PRI ISDN comes into port 1 of a Digium Wildcard and the PBX it connected to port 2 via an ISDN crossover cable). This PBX used to be able to

Asterisk and zaptel on Fedora Core 2
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Dear all. As I couldn't get to compile and run Asterisk 1.0RC1 on my default RedHat 9 I thought it was about time to upgrade to Fedora Core 2. Well, it was too late to realize the kernel 2.6 wasn't supported by Asterisk *officially* anyway. Here is what I did to get asterisk and zaptel to work under Fedora Core 2: I posted it on the wiki

MAKEing zaptel and ztdummy
Hi, I'm following the instructions on Asterisk Doc Proj: astersik_1.0.8/docs/docs-html_one/vm1.html#AEN30 and they don't seem to work out. The order suggested is: cd zaptel make clean make linux26 make install vi Makefile (and uncomment ztdummy) make modprobe zaptel modprobe ztdummy The first 3 makes for zaptel work out ok - but the ztdummy.ko (etc) files *are* created. Zaptel issue
I'm having a bad time getting 3 TE410P's and one TDM400 working in the same box. At some point during the install of second card, wcusb starts loading. I believe this is one of the TE410 Cards causing this as there is no usb enabled. Module Size Used by Not tainted audit 89880 2 (autoclean) usbserial 23420 0 (autoclean) (unused)

Fwd: Newbie here. Tips on setting up 100 phones wanted.
So in order to answer the background and backbone questions here is the system as it is. I hope this isn't too much for the list but I'll post it in response to a few inquiries. The current system is quite interesting. We have an office in a town that is about 50 miles from the ski area. The ski area is powered 100% of of generators and the telephone access and internet access goes from

FC3 + udev + Asterisk v1.0.3 - Temporary Fix
I haven't seen anybody so far post a complex fix for the udev problems on FC3 with the latest kernel. On that note, I have a temporary fix to allow zaptel to load somewhat normally. I found that modifying the zaptel script to 1) load, unload, then load the driver modules and 2) insert a pause between modules seems to allow things to work. This assumes you have followed the instructions

[LLVMdev] VMKit Boehm MMTk Compilation
For anyone who encounters this issue in the future, my issue was the configuration of llvm-gcc. Configure with --with-llvmgccdir=YOUR/PATH doesn't work, instead you are supposed to use --with-llvmgcc=PATH/TO/llvm-gcc and --with-llvmgxx=/PATH/TO/llvm-g++ That will at least get you past my error. module-init-tools ported to klibc
Halo, I don't know if this is already done but the following two patches (one for klibc) and a big one (several smaller incorporated to one) to modules-init-tools enables running modprobe and friends in early user space. There are some issues so I post here for discussion The porting strategy was copied from the udev package. I make a file mod_libc_wrapper.{c,h} in order to provide the

help with static userdb
Hey, This may be a dumb question... I'm trying to set up 1.0 with a static userdb, and I'm getting stuck. I have: userdb static { args = uid=500 gid=500 home=/domains/%d/%n } When I attempt to log in as, say, kyle at memoryhole.net (via telnet, so I *know* I'm logging in as that user), the debug log says that it thinks my home directory is

zlib plugin weirdness
Hello, I'm trying to get the zlib plugin working on my 2.0 server. I started with an mbox that Dovecot can read just fine. Then I gzipped it, and now Dovecot complains that it's corrupted: Error: Next message unexpectedly corrupted in mbox file /var/lib/vpopmail/domains/memoryhole.net/kyle/Maildir/Archive/Intellego.gz at 1907 Error: Unexpectedly lost From-line from
