Asterisk IAX Configuration Problem
Hello everybody,
I am quite new to asterisk. I have tried to connect two asterisk boxes
with the iax2 protocol, but although the web is full of documetation for
that, I was quite unsuccessful.
The last try was Example 2 from
http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/index.php?page=Asterisk+-+dual+servers

IAX2 trunks unreliable becoming UNREACHABLE aftera time
Dear Royce;
Did ur problem resolved? Because now I am facing same
problem.
It look like that it happens with IAX trunk only, but
does not happen with IAX endpoints that registering
(as trunk does not register, it sends the call
directly).
My initial analysis that one of the following can help
to let the trunks talk: if there is an IAX endpoints
registering to the machines, then trunk become

registering IAX with Teliax
Hopefully this is really a generic question about IAX and doesn't turn out
to be something specific to Teliax, because they haven't been too helpful
so far. All they can tell me is that my login shows "status unknown" on
their end, which prevents me from receiving inbound calls on my Teliax
number. Outbound calls through the same server work fine, which rules out
most networking

IAX trunk with dynamic IPs
Hi all,
I have a IAX trunk between two asterisk servers, both with dynamic IP
and both have a DNS name associated with it.
In the iax.conf file I configure the "host" parameter with the DNS name
of the servers. Everything works fine until one of these servers get a
new IP, so the other can't find its peer (the one that has just gotten a
new IP). If I manually issue a "iax2

IAX2 peer unreachable in one direction - NATproblem?
To answer my own message, I figured out a solution (untested) about 10
minutes after posting and leaving the office. Doh!
Anyway, the solution (now tested) was to make the Asterisk server behind the
NAT register with its peers. Despite reserving port 4569 in the firewall,
that was not enough in this particular NAT firewall - it was only being
reserved for one connection.
Kind regards,
Sebastian

IAX2 peer unreachable in one direction - NAT problem?
The situation is one of my asterisk servers is behind a NAT firewall and one
is not. Both servers have multiple IAX peers. The NAT firewall has port 4569
mapped through to the asterisk server behind. But, the natted server is
almost permanently unreachable from this non-natted server, even though, the
non-natted server is almost permanently _reachable_ from the natted server.
Details are below

IAX2 problem for WAN connections
Hi,
I am trying to connect two Asterisk servers using IAX2. Everything works fine when I couple them
within a LAN segment, but not when I connect them using WAN connections. I made sure that the
routers' ports are mapped properly and checked this with additional ssh rules.
ServerA is a Raspberry box with the vendor's Asterisk version 1.8.13.1 and ServerB is normal
CentOS 7 box with

IAX clients are Unmonitored / UNREACHABLE
We have a problem with our iaxclients.
Our asterisk runs on a public host with debian and many of our IAX2 clients
are natted.
The iax.conf looks like:
[23456]
accountcode=123
type=friend
context=user
auth=md5
secret=xxxx
username=23456
callerid=Testuser 1 <23456>
notransfer=yes
host=dynamic
The cli command IAX2 show peers shows all clients as unmonitored

Any way to change dns timeout value? Asterisk hangs if internet unreachable
I don't have the most reliable internet connection in the world.
Whenever it goes out, I can't receive any incoming calls at all, not
even from pstn. When it first goes out I can still make outgoing
calls through pstn, but eventually that fails too (as does voicemail,
everything's out). Yes, asterisk and the local phones are all on the
same network and can communicate fine.
Ok,

Origin of "Exceptionally long voice queue length queuing to IAX2/blahblah" messages
Hello,
I'm using asterisk for a quite long period, i integrated a lot of stuff to make it behave like any carrier class system, so users can:
manage Call forward on busy
manage Call forward on no answer
manage unconditionnal call forward
call back missed calls
and a lot of such services that can be both configured by menus and dtmf or by web interfaces (PHP+SQL), in fact i recreated

I saw this thread which is very similar to my issue, though I cannot
solve mine with iptables.

Using asterisk 11.5, IAX does not seem to be able to receive any
packets.
My IP tables looks like this:

Office to Office via IAX2 problems
I'm going to try and lay out all the relevant information I have here
in this one post. I can provide more info if necessary.
ISSUE 1:
Office A routinely looses connection to Office B. When typing IAX2
Show Peers, it will show as Unreachable. I issue IAX2 Reload and it
will work again for 1-3 days (haven't narrowed the time down yet). My
theory is that the DSL at Office2 is changing
