Multitech MVP130 as FXO with asterisk
I've gotten asterisk running fine with several Grandstream phones as well as linphone on my PC. Now the last step is configuring the multitech MVP 130s that I have to send outbound calls to the POTS lines attached to the MVP130s. I'm having issues with the outbound and inbound telephone book entries I believe. The multitechs work fine when configured to talk to each other at remote

successful echo cancellation!!! (multitech)
We recently had a customer install that went horribly wrong. Serious echo (pots lines into a cac cb) that, although * did a good job getting rid of alot of it, could not get rid of it all. We tried everything, every canceller, gain setting, etc... combination possible to no avail. Both the vegastream and mediatrix boxes also could not get rid of all of the echo. So, on an off chance, we

No sound in one calling direction, men using PRI with E1 and Q.SIG
I've been trying lots of configurations now. And the problem that I can't solve is this: I have a Digium T205P card. I have connected one of the connections to our internal PBX (NEC 2000 IPS). The Asterisk is configured as pri_cpe, and the NEC is configured to be the network side of the connection. Both ends are using b-channels 1-15 and 17-31, the d-channel is on 16. When I start

MultiTech MT5634ZBA usb modems
Everyone, I have a centos 5.10 machine set up to be a fax server using hylafax+ with three multitech MT5634ZBA modems. I am still in the testing phase of using this system for production, and during my tests I have detected a problem I have not been able to solve except for unplugging the modem from the usb port and plugging it back into the usb port. In the middle of a fax production of

Large number of prefixes in a route to a trunk
We're beginning to test MultiTech's CallFinder CDMA Units, one for Sprint PCS and one for Alltel. They sell both. Our intent is to use them as a backup line for our main office (which has a PRI) and a backup/911 line for our remote offices which are all connected via * over a VPN with no local trunks at any of them. In the interest of maximizing use of the lines, I'm putting

Connect many fax lines?
We have an application for Asterisk that will require connecting 144 fax ports into the system. Faxes will route externally over a PRI. The 144 ports are for local fax machines within the building. Not all will be faxing simultaneously. We just need to be able to provide ports in the building to plug in lots of fax machines. The plan is to run an Asterisk server for about 100 phones and these

Please..... need some help
Sorry if I post in this forum, this may be not the right one, but I hope to find in here some experts which could help me out. I have in one location 8 extensions from a Panasonic PBX ?KX-TD1232? connected to FXO Ports on an MultiVoIP Gateway from Multitech. On the other location I have 8 SP5100 IP-Phones from Micronet as remote extensions. Between the locations I have a VPN.

Practical limit on dial prefixes for a route
Colleagues, We're in the process of standardizing on Sprint PCS and Cingular phones on a national basis (~ 50 properties, 1000's of lines). I manage an Asterisk install at one location. I've been looking at the Multitech CellFinder CDMA for Sprint as a dial backup solution. Basically, it's a CDMA to POTS gateway, tied to a PCS account. We would see it as a trunk line and I

TI USB 3410-5052 for CentOS 4.7
Hi, I am trying to build the driver for the TI USB 3410/5052 family of devices. Specifically, I am trying to hook up a MultiTech GSM modem. I have the source for the driver which came with the modem. However, I beating my head against the wall trying to get around the usb-serial.h not found error. I have found references saying usb-serial.h has been moved. Even though I have pulled

Panasonic Hybrid Integration Advice Needed
I have a client who has a Panasonic Hybrid system. They are taking in another company as a building tenant and the tenant will be on a new 12 station Asterisk system. This new asterisk system will have 4 FXO ports plus ITSP. The two systems will be separate except that they should tie together for the purposes of dialing extensions directly on the opposite phone system and for transferring

what hardware to choose from?
Hi list, I am ready to implement VoIP for 2 of our offices. i do like to setup asterisk box in each office (behind PBX) and use our ADSL links to provide the tunnel. This will provide cheap telephone calls between offices. I also like to setting PBX, so it can let incoming call-thourgh to asterisk extensions, so our home users can use office * box to call to other office. I don't want to

H.323, MultiVOIP, and DTMF
I've been working with the old-style (pre-SIP) MultiTech MultiVOIPs, trying to make them work against chan_h323. With the voips in rfc2833 mode, Asterisk can detect DTMF fine from them, but when it sends DTMF to them, they lock up on the second digit, crying about an incoming fax. Has anyone encountered that problem (and found a solution)? Taking the other route, switching DTMF to inband on

FXO interfaces used in UK?
What FXO interface methods are folks using successfully in the UK? I'm looking for good, known-to-work solutions for commercial use for two PSTN trunks on an Asterisk box. Here's the options I have, as I see it: i) Two Digium X100Ps. Pro - cheap (c. ?120), CE approved. Con - UK line impedance mismatch, with resulting echo problems, plus needs two PCI slots. ii) Digium TDM400P with two

Limit fax tx speed of 'dumb' faxes??
Hi! Still trying to get fax to work in a reliable manner. I have some dumb fax machines that do not have a setting to limit tx/rx speeds. For some reason when training they often think the line is good enough for 14k4 or higher after which the fax will fail. Is there any other way of forcing the faxes to lower their speeds? Would it be possible to monitor certain extensions for the sound

anybody need a ... ??
Hi! We're cleaning house, trying to downsize so we can move into a retirement community, so we're finding all sorts of stuff to get rid of. One thing I'm reluctant to throw out is my Multitech MT5600BA V90 modem. I used it for dialup for several years before broadband became available and it was great, stable, and fast. (its predecessor, a much-touted consumer-grade V90 modem was

IAX2/GSM VOIP troubleshooting
Last week I was able to do some debugging of the problem I'm having with IAX2/GSM, residential-grade broadband, and VOIP. To summarize, I am having a great learning experience with * and Zap cards, SIP and IAX2. I hit a wall though, when I registered with iaxtel and tried doing VOIP. I spend the better part of a workday with the jitterbuffer and all sorts of settings and finally started to

RE: service-based and ip-based shaping
Thanks, The only issue here is that for each service I need to create 200 child classes if I have 200 clients... Let me explain the problem better I have the following connection from my ISP: (1024/1024) (rate/ceil) 1) First, I want to divide the 1024 into smaller pieces based on priority: 256/256 - P2P (I want to limit the P2P traffic as much as possible) 256/1024 - HTTP 256/1024 - FTP
