Will it be possible for Wine to run gaming emulators?
I tried to run TGB Dual emulator and MSX emulator on Wine. Both seemed to run nicely on the first glimpse, but crashed when I tried to load the game files. I did not quite expect this since I felt that those emulators were quite simple in their programming details. Will it be possible in a near future for Wine to run these kinds of gaming emulators of old gaming consoles? Or is it already

Gaming Sites Refuse to Load
:( Exactly as the title says, A majority of online gaming sites and browser based mmo games refuse to load on to a mozilla browser with WINE installed. Examples are www.armorgames.com www.freeonlinegames.com www.bigpoint.com What they do is they load a little bit so I can see the website, But then it freezes up and im forced to quit the session and start over again...with the same results...

Once again.Tinc for gaming
Howdy, I would like to bring this topic up again. Gaming via tinc. We use tinc-1.0.16 on Linux, Win7 and WinXP so far. Setup was pretty straight forward. All the nodes have mode set to switch and subnet to 10.0.0.0/24. Ping works, smb shares work. Everything seems fine BUT connecting ingame only works with 1 out of 5 games. In some games, we see each other in the lobby. I conclude, that UDP

Help:Speex/Programming Beginner
Hi all, I'm interested in creating a speex app for Pocket PC devices but first, I'm not (yet) a programmer nor a techie person so even though I read through the whole manual twice, I'm still not sure exactly what I should do. Please help! For starters, I just want to convert a wave file into a speex file using the speexenc/speexdec utilities or whatever else is available. I

RE: Difference in Encoding of files on Pocket PCvis-à-vis desktop
Hi, Here's a couple things to look at: 1) Are you using your own encoder and decoder? If so, try with speexenc and speexdec. 2) Is PocketPC big endian? If so, try defining WORDS_BIGENDIAN when compiling Speex. 3) The "This doesn't look like a Speex file" error sounds very suspicious because it only involves looking at the first chars of the first packet and looking for the

RE: Difference in Encoding of files on Pocket PCvis-à-vis desktop
Hello Jean-Marc, I encoded a 143 kb file on both the desktop as well as the Pocket PC using the default settings/ Here are the results. Size : Desktop - 17.6 Kb, Pocket PC -17.1 kb (not much difference in size) Now when I try to decode the file encoded on the Pocket PC, I get a message "This doesn't look like a Speex file". However, when I decode the Pocket PC encoded file on

Re: problems accessing samba server from Pocket PC with Windows Mobil e
Hi there, I am experiencing exactly the same problems like described below. I do not have a solution right now, but I found a work-around that may help you. As soon as I change the security parameter in the smb.conf file from security=user to security=share, mounting shares to Pocket PC seems to work. (HP iPAQ 4150 running Windows Mobile 2003) I am running SAMBA V 3.0.2.a and 2.6.4.2-52 kernel

Difference in Encoding of files on Pocket PC vis-à-vis desktop
Hi, I suspect something related to endianness or word size here. Can you check that the encoded files end up the same size? Also, what if you encode on the Pocket PC and decode on a desktop? Maybe if you encode a small wav file on both pocket PC and desktop using default options and send me the results. Jean-Marc Le lun 24/05/2004 à 09:52, Asheesh Vashishtha a écrit : > Hi all, >

Two EdTech Projects: RoR Dev''er Needed
Hey all, Here''s where I post my mightly plea for a developer; also where I gush the wonders of these two educational, open-community youth projects. --- They''re both the product of some wonderful minds and have attracted the attention of interesting and unique organizations. A RoR developer would gain stardom as well, the lead web developer involved. Maybe not the same

linking icecast to ios and android phones
You can create a .m3u or .mp3 container linking to the stream URL. I can't remember the exact tags required but this should work, just use your favorite text editor to make it. problems accessing samba server from Pocket PC with Windows Mobil e 2003
Hi all, when accessing a samba server version 2.2.8a from a Pocket PC with Windows Mobile 2003 you can give a password and tell the Pocket PC to remember it. But, if you switch off the device or remove the LAN-card the stored password is lost (or send in a different way as Pocket PC 2002). Maybe the procedure of sending the stored password has been changed, because Pocket PC 2002 works fine

flac on pocket pc
Hello Josh and flac-dev, I've got libflac and libflac++ implemented as dll's on the pocket pc using embedded visual C++ 4.0 . The target system with this environment is pocket pc 2003 (windows ce 4.20). I used the project files provided on the FLAC pages from the unofficial port for pocket pc. These were limited in usefulness due to no sources included with them. However, I did use the

1.0.3 in ACM soon
Hello Rodrigo, R> May be that we don´t understand. I need to transform speex to pocket pc R> platform. The Windows API is different to Pocket Pc API. That's not true. It is VERY similar. At least none of functions that Speex core calls differs. Actually it does not call any Win32 function, it calls stdlib, which is similar on all platform. So, I still don't understand what porting

Difference in Encoding of files on Pocket PC vis-à-vis desktop
Hi all, I've created a Speex decoder for Pocket PC so that I can play Speex files from within my .NET CF app. But there has been a problem while playing the files on my Pocket PC. I encode a wav file on the desktop using Speexenc.exe (Speex- 1.1.5) and then copy this file to my Pocket PC where I playback using my decoder library. But the sound quality is extremely poor and completely
