Asterisk + voxbone ==> Failed to authenticate user
Hi every all, since a few weeks I came back to asterisk and tried to install version 1.6. The installation went fine so I decided to buy new dids on Voxbone. I have added the sip peers of Voxbone Belgium1 like this in the sip.conf [81.201.82.39] host=dynamic type=friend insecure=very context=your_context canreinvite=no qualify=no deny=0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0 permit=81.201.82.39/255.255.255.255 but

multi step auth?
I *am* doing that, as I assumed it would be required just for the 911 mapping we have provided, but that doesn't change the SIP header. multi step auth?
Hi, We have been using Voxbone for some time for origination, and they now offer E911 services.? We are trying to set this up and having trouble meeting their authentication requirements. I setup a peer as I normally would, with user/pass as they supplied ("lacoursj", "pass"), but my calls are rejected.? Their support is asking that I follow this auth mechanism: 1st step

DID Provider
I am using DIDx.net as my DID provider but they don't seem to get their act together. A lot of times the phone numbers don't work. How can provide my own DID, my asterisk server is being hosted at a Data center and has a reliable vendor that does my termination and do SIP to SIP and have no T1 channels. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Need a SIP trunk provider for US - Dallas/TX
All, I'm in Dallas, TX, US and am looking for inbound-only DID service with 10+ channels on a SIP trunk. Is anyone on this list doing something similar and have any recommendations for a provider? Of course I'll be routing either SIP/IAX to an asterisk server that will be hosted in a Dallas colocation facility. I found VoxBone.com but they only want to deal with customers that can

Some pre-RC1 listening tests
Hello everyone, ff123 compiled Monty's branch of the RC1 encoder, see his post on r3mix.net forum: http://66.96.216.160/cgi-bin/YaBB.pl?board=c&action=display&num=994299736&start=30 Anyway it only supports ~128kbps mode, so I did a quick listening test with some files that bugged vorbis beta4. grace.wav - the right channel is still a bit watery, and I think this can be seen

"Fixing the Caller-ID Problem", by John Todd for O'ReillyNet
This seems like a piece members of this list would find interesting... === There is growing concern over the interaction of VoIP systems with the legacy PSTN, and the transmission of caller identity data--most notably, Caller ID on the PSTN. It is not always possible, or obvious how, to handle Caller ID data when moving to or from VoIP and the PSTN networks. There are even business models

How do I get DIDs for remote areas in Canada
I want the ability to setup DIDs in a variety of different remote locations in Canada. There are various providers that have DIDs in major cities, but none that focus on the "smaller" cities. The question is how do I actually setup these DIDs? Thanks, Geoff

Telco with multipe SIP servers
Hi! My telco is Deutsche Telekom and they got about 30 SIP servers right now. Currently I've set up a template for incoming calls in sip.conf and added each SIP server by it's IP address like this: [DTAG-in-1](DTAG-in-template) host=217.0.16.103 ... [DTAG-in-30](DTAG-in-template) host=217.0.20.99 I've done that to improve security and to be able to assign all calls coming in

DIDs anywhere but here?
Are there affordable DIDs (preferably IAX) available anywhere outside the US? I want to use it to meet ICANN requirements for providing a valid phone number, yet pre-empting some of the telemarketing calls my domain registrations generate. (Yes, I asked a similar question about 900# availability before). I'd prefer to have a number somewhere outside the NANP, preferably an asian country.

Inbound Callcenter with multiple DIDs
I'm curious what asterisk solutions there are out there for inbound call centers with multiple DIDs. I'm looking for solutions for a setup where single system may have 1000 DIDs going to it, one for each account. Each account may not get that many calls. Solutions that will all reporting on calls coming into different accounts, call routing for queues based on distribution groups. Like

Binary Matrices
I'm wanting to perform analysis (e.g. using eigen()) of binary matrices - i.e. matrices comprising 0s and 1s. For example: n<-1000 test.mat<-matrix(round(runif(n^2)),n,n) eigen(test.mat,only.values=T) Is there a more efficient way of setting up test.mat, as each cell only requires a binary digit? I imagine R is setting up a structure which could contain n^2 floats. Thanks in advance

Hi all, Occasionally, DIDs from different providers stop working for some reason. I would like to be able to monitor situations like that and react before any of my clients start going ballistic on me. Any ideas? Scripts you know of or wrote and willing to share? handling spam from gmail.
I am sick of this gmail spam. Does anyone know a solution where I can do something like this: 1. received email from adcpni444 at gmail.com 2. system recognizes this email address has been 'whitelisted', continue with 7. 3. system recognizes as this email never been seen before 4. auto reply with something like (maybe with a wait time of x hours): Your message did not receive the
