RealTime ignoringswitch=>Realtime/context@re altime_ext
Thanks John, You are my savior. This is such a great relief. Apparently realtime will not use either '127.0.0.1' or 'localhost' to connect to the database. I had to use the actual IP address attached to the NIC before it worked. My OS is Debian just a note and Asterisk HEAD from August 20, 2005 Details below for those who might be swimming in the same pool with me.

Why CDR is recording dst value = h?
For a new project, I have written a dialplan and it is pretty straight forward: The [dialout] context dials out a number, and h extension in this context writes the CDR. But what is happening is that if the callee hangs up first, all values in the CDR are fine, but if the caller hangs up first, the 'dst' column is always 'h'. I put a NoOp right in the begining of this macro to

I have some stuck channels that I think I'm going to have to bounce Asterisk to get rid of, but am curious to know what they are and how they've managed to accumulate. The show up with a channel identifier of '(None)' as in the output below, and do not show up in the soft hangup list, and so can't be cleared by that method. Here is the output from iax2 show channels:

idmap woes after upgrade
Hello All, I've bitten the bullet and upgraded from sernet-samba-4.2 to 4.6.4-SerNet-RedHat-7.el7. Now my AD users don't show up in Linux, with the result that the [homes] share fails to connect. Other shares work fine, it's just the homes share. There doesn't appear to be any uidNumber mapping going on. I used to be able to use the unix command 'id' to show user info,

hwclock problem
Hi. I run peridocally (from cron) on all of my machines 30 * * * * root /sbin/hwclock --systohc All of those machines in question take their time via NTP from the same local server, and that server gets its time from a ntp pool. Now I had to reboot a couple of them two days ago and to my surprise all had problems with the time upon booting. Here are the important files: [root at XXXXXX ~]

samba 3.0.24 works - samba 3.0.25 fails
Folks: I've got several systems attached to a 2003 domain where we use kerberos to authenticate. When I upgraded a system to the latest greatest samba things stopped working. Just to find where it happened in the different versions of samba I downloaded, built, & ran 3.0.23d to 3.0.25c using the same smb.conf file. Turns out the 2.0.23d and 3.0.24 works but from 3.0.25 on it fails.

Windows 7 only connects if joined to the domain
I'm running 3.4.6 (was running 3.0.28a but upgraded in hopes to fix this issue). Clients running Windows 7 that are NOT joined to the AD domain (samba authenticates against it via "security = server") cannot authenticate to access the server. Clients running Windows 7 that are on the domain as well as Windows XP, Windows 2003 on and off the domain work as expected. Any help would

API Originate Action - distinguishing between No Answer and Invalid phone number
I've discovered that when dialing out using API's Originate action, a no answer is considered a failed attempt, while a busy is considered a successful attempt. The problem I'm having is that when I dial an invalid number, say a disconnected number that gives a fast busy, my CDRs are identical to those generated by a no answer attempt. Is there a way to distinguish between a no
