Re: Best way to access MySQL data from dial plan
I'm not sure that any solution with the MySQL dialplan command is going to be ideal. You also can't nest your queries, ie the connectid/result id seems to only be good for one resultset at a time... try doing something like findme/followme with that! Feedback needed! FindMe/FollowMe FeatureSpec.
Hi Adam, I appreciate your feedback, and understand totally where you're coming from as far as the database perspective goes. For the first "draft" of the app, I think I'm going to let it default to using a conf file for two reasons. First, my setup currently does not utilize a database. I would like to move to that type of a setup in the future however. Secondly, seeing as

Stuck. Extenions.conf? Realtime? MySQL? Grrrrr!
Boy, am I stuck... I'm officially ready to toss Asterisk out the window. I have to admit it isn't necessarily all the fault of Asterisk either. It just seems that every option I turn to suddenly ends in failure. I don't know if it's me that's bitten of more than I can chew with this project, or maybe Asterisk just isn't mature enough yet. Nothing complicated really....

Dial() M parameter in 1.6.2.11-rc2
Hi, I can't figure out what syntax to use with the Dial() "M" parameter for the AEL parser to interpret properly. Creating an AEL macro named "macro-screen()" partly works as a hack, but it must not turn into a gosub properly, so I get warnings about the "return;". Dial(...,tgM(&screen)) with the ael macro named "screen" does not work

Feedback needed! FindMe/FollowMe Feature Spec.
Hello all, I'm going to tackle learning C this week, and start writing my first * add-on/contribution; assuming it's actually worthy of contributing once it's done.. I think I've chosen a hefty project for my first go round here... I'd like to get some feedback from everyone on a FindMe/FollowMe spec I've put together. Before you read on, let me say, I don't want

What to do on a national celebration day? Test, test, test!
Today is Swedens national day - since a few years a holiday too. We don't have a tradition on how to celebrate. Sweden has not been to war for a very long time, so there's no real spirit for the country here - it's been aroundfor such a long time, so what? :-) Guess we have to learn from abroad, to get a celebration feeling like July 4th in the US or May 17th in Norway (from

Emerging dilema? DID forwarding meets SMS
We have a number of DID's that do the standard VoIP tricks: ringing multiple locations, findme-followme etc. What is happening more and more is that customers call those DID numbers, and draw the reasonable conclusion that they are calling mobile numbers because they literally can HEAR that the called party is on a mobile. Consequently many of those customers draw the conclusion that they

Setting CDR dnid and Billing
I need to manually set certain CDR fields. 1). Callers are allowed to call someone within the same organisation by using a 4 digit extension. A database lookup maps the 4 digit extension to the real number. However, a CDR for this call shows the original 4 digit extension still. What variable is used to set the 'dst' field in the CDR? Is it the dnid AGI var? How can I set this? I tried

ael context ~~s~~ in macros broke Dial() U() option in 1.6.2.17.2 and newer
Hi, I think this must be a bug introduced with 1.6.2.17.something. When I upgrade from asterisk-1.6.2.16.1 to asterisk-1.6.2.17.2 or 1.6.2.18, my AEL Dial() commands with the "U" options fail with the following error: [May 3 12:05:54] ERROR[6300] app_stack.c: Attempt to reach a non-existent destination for gosub: (Context:screen, Extension:s, Priority:1) Here are the segments

FollowMe dials numbers but can't confirm the call or hear anything
Trying to do a FollowMe test. When the extension is dialed, it dials my cellphone and my cell phone rings. But when I answer my cell phone it's just silence. When I press '1' on my cell phone, nothing happens. extensions.conf: exten => 140,1,FollowMe(mleonetti) followme.conf [general] featuredigittimeout=>5000 takecall=>1 declinecall=>2

How to get values of local channels context
The variable ${CONTEXT} stores the value of the current context. However if we are in a macro that will be the name of the macro. How do I access the name of the local channel's context. For example: [macro-test] exten => s,n,NoOp(Context ${CONTEXT}) CLI shows: -- Executing NoOp("Local/2592@1100006-2000-e802,2", "Context macro-test") in new stack I want to get

Audio problems on Zap & SIP, local network, not IRQ related?
I am trying to get to the bottom of audio clicks, pops, dropouts with my Asterisk server. These occur even when the system is under minimal load (e.g. 1 Zap device in a queue being played music on hold) and occurs with both Zap and Sip devices so isn't network related. The audio problems occur at the same time on all channels and seems to be when Asterisk "gets busy" and uses

Dial options not working
Hi, I have an extension which has the follow me option activated. The followme option should go to a IVR if no answer... The problem that I have is that everything works when I'm calling it from my extension, but if I use any landline phone or a cell phone, I'm unable to enter any options. When I press one option, it seems I do nothing... Please, could you help me? Thanks, Anahi

crashing. So, as a first step to solving **that** problem, make sure asterisk is compiled with debug flags, dumps another core file, and then you do the "gdb asterisk <corefilename>", and get a stack trace. That should give us some idea of what happened. > > I have a fairly simple Followme sequence in place to see how it works > before I get into the complex scenarios.

form_remote, getting data from submit
Hi list, I'm writing a little survey application, and surveys are generated dynamically. I use form_remote_tag and AJAX to submit the form to a method 'submit' in my 'survey' controller. The view generates the form as: <tr> <td>Question 1?</td> <td><input id="resultset_1" name="resultset[1]" size="30"
