Softfax/spandsp Makefile.patch rxfax/txfax
I followed the instructions at http://www.opencall.org/instructions.html and http://lists.digium.com/pipermail/asterisk-users/2003-October/025094.html I was able to compile spandsp (./configure ; make ; make install), "manually" patched asterisk apps/Makefile (/usr/src/asterisk/apps), as the supplied patch does not fit the actual CVS apps/Makefile After make clean ; make install, I

I have installed Asterisk v1.2.14, SpanDSP v0.0.2pre26 and app_rxfax. All compiled and installed fine. When I attempt to call the extension I have created for receiving fax's then I get the following error once just as the rxfax

SpanDSP/RxFax help...
I've seen people mention that they have fax reception working with Asterisk, spandsp, and app_rxfax. I'm using the latest Asterisk from CVS, SpanDSP 0.0.1k, and the latest app_rxfax.c (as mirrored by friendly list members recently), and libtiff 3.5.7. Asterisk is detecting the fax signal properly, and executing the fax extension in the dialplan. The fax part of the dialplan is pretty

spandsp 0.0.3 RxFax fax reception crashes bristuffed asterisk 1.2.13
Hi Last month, people reported a crash with Asterisk 1.2.13 and spandsp-0.0.3 when receiving a fax using fax detection. Today I've tried 1.2.14 with the latest spandsp 0.0.3pre27 and with the snapshots for app_rxfax.c and app_txfax.c. The problem still happens. Has anyone found how to resolve this issue? I tried emailing Steve Underwood (with crash backtrace) but he hasn't

Re: RE: RxFax/spandsp: not disconnecting
Hi Steve, You are a legend !!! It is properly disconnecting now. Although I am having problem with the fax detection. Somehow fax will only be detected if NO CLI was sent from the PSTN line but if the line received the CLI, fax tone is ignored. Does anyone had the same experience? Is there any workaround or fixed for it? Rey > Message: 11 > From: Derek

Anybody success using Asterisk 1.2.6 and SpanDSP 0.0.3 pre 6?
Hi, I am able to use SpanDSP 0.0.2 (all pre version) with Asterisk 1.2.6 to recieve fax successfully. Today I tried to change to SpanDSP 0.0.3 pre 6 but I just couldn't complie the app_rxfax and txfax application. The SpanDSP 0.0.3 was successfully complied though. I'm running it on Debian. I've searched the space for the answer, there're so many people asked this but I just

spandsp, rxfax, TDM400/zaptel, missed frames, any help?
Sorry in advance if this is a FAQ... I've got a working Asterisk setup based on A@H 2.2. I have a TDM400 card with 2 FXS and 2 FXO ports; PSTN connections come in via the TDM card. I haven't been able to get inbound fax with spandsp and rxfax to work. Occasionally an all-text fax will come in, though it's usually badly corrupted, but in most cases, it would appear that the call is

TXFax/RXFax/AGX-Addons/SpanDSP Crashing
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi all, anyone else seen RX/TXFax crashing Asterisk on latest Asterisk SVN? I've now seen it on two machines I tried to set up - one it seems because the tiff file was malformed, but the other is doing: tiff -> tx fax -> zaptel -> pstn -> ddi -> zaptel -> rx fax -> tiff The above crashes every time. SpanDSP RxFax receives junk - gets Fax3Decode2d: Warning, (FakeInput): .... messages
I'm trying to install the RxFax in Asterisk. After much trouble getting app_rxfax.c (and friends) compiles and installed into Asterisk (thanks to the many asterisk-users messages) it did get it installed. I have been unable to receive a legible fax. app_rxfax provides lots of debugging information but none useful to me. I was hoping that someone has an idea what might be going on.

broadvoice replacement
Does anyone know of a BYOD provider that terminates calls to NCFA numbers (UK 'national rate'). I enjoyed broadvoices unlimited to those numbers, but this is getting silly now, it doesnt work and no answer if after switching to a new provider it will ever work. Can anyone suggest an alternative provider that serves NCFA? -- Trixter http://www.0xdecafbad.com UK +44 870 340 4605

Codecs and pauses
Hi all My * implementation is working brilliantly with only one small fault left to kill. I'm using IAXTalk from Telappliant for my incoming/outgoing calls to the pstn network; if I set my codec to GSM everything works great - no pauses but quality is a bit poor. If it set the codec to alaw (I think I'm using the correct one - I'm in the UK) I get intermittent pauses on the call.

Voip-talk?
Hi everyone I'm interested in using the Telappliant/voip-talk offering as an alternative to my DDI analog problem. (see [Asterisk-Users] Multiple DDI & Hunting on Analog Lines (UK) for details) Does anyone on the list have any recent comments on reliability etc? I would really appricated some positive and negative comments. Cheers Matt
