problem with asterisk - calls where both sidescannot hear each other
If you use both the public and private interfaces for VoIP in the Asterisk Server, make sure you don't specify one of them for the binding in sip.conf
Example
bindaddr=0.0.0.0
will allow SIP traffic on any of your interfaces.

Fallback
Hi,
I'm trying the following settings but it seams that it's not working :(
While I try to switch down the server a, the fallback is not used.
The "/letsgozik-HiQ-backup" is working (localy). An idea ?
<relay>
<server>a</server>
<port>xxxxxxx</port>
<mount>/letsgozik-HiQ</mount>

Fallback
Thanks for the answer. How can I do a "failback" for a relayed stream ?
The idea is to set up a relay that can use for the same mountpoint two
connection.

play file from url
I would like to do something like:
exten => s,1,playback(http://my.server.com/file.wav)
I tested and it does not work. It seems highly likely that someone would
already have done this one way or another. I know I could do a system
wget and then play the local file, but wanted something a bit more elegant.

removing outliers in non-normal distributions
Hello,
I'm seeking ideas on how to remove outliers from a non-normal distribution
predictor variable. We wish to reset points deemed outliers to a truncated
value that is less extreme. (I've seen many posts requesting outlier removal
systems. It seems like most of the replies center around "why do you want to
remove them", "you shouldn't remove them", "it

A New Phone Service - www.virtualphoneline.com
Dear Asterisk Users Mailing List - Non-Commercial Discussion,
I joined VirtualPhoneLine.Com service and am really enjoying the use of it.
VirtualPhoneLine.Com allows me to buy virtual numbers from anywhere in the world and then forwards it to my Mobile Number, Regular Phone, MSN Messenger, Google Talk or an IP Phone.
Have a look at the http://www.virtualphoneline.com/faq and

MeetMe not prompting for PIN
Hello, all. I must be brain cramping badly on our Asterisk 1.6.1.1
installation. Our MeetMe macros are working fine except they do not
prompt for a PIN. So I made a very simple conference room:
exten => 7777,1,MeetMe(123456,cMaAsx,123456)
Shouldn't this prompt the user who dials 7777 to enter a PIN before
entering the conference room whether or not a PIN is defined in
meetme.conf? I

Can not hear called party
Hello,
We have a problem on a recent asterisk install with Polycom 30x phones;
Sometimes (can not reproduce or find the logic of the problem after one
week one analysis), the called party (even incoming or outgoing call)
can not hear the calling party, as other flow works (caller hears
called). This occurs between 5 and 10% of the time.
The configuration is the following:
- Asterisk 1.2.9.1

A reason TO run Asterisk as root
I finally found a reason TO run Asterisk as root.
By default, ext[23] file systems "reserve" 5% of the filesystem for root.
Thus, you may get some warning when everything non-root starts failing
and give you a chance to free up some space before Asterisk is affected.

Good phone near $125
I was looking at the aastra 9133i, however I was informed that this phone is
no longer supported. What are good phones around the $100 - $125 price

error bars in lattice xyplot *with groups*
Hi all,
I'm trying to plot error bars in a lattice plot generated with xyplot. Deepayan
Sarkar has provided a very useful solution for simple circumstances
(https://stat.ethz.ch/pipermail/r-help/2005-October/081571.html), yet I am
having trouble getting it to work when the "groups" setting is enabled in
xyplot (i.e. multiple lines). To illustrate this, consider the singer data

Slow terminal response Centos 7.7 1908
Hey!
I have a strange condition in one of the servers that I don't where to
start looking.
I login to the server via SSH (cant doit any other way) and anything that I
type is slow
HTTP sessions timeout waiting for screen redraw. So, the server is acting
"slow".
server is bare metal. no virtual services.
no alarms in the disk raid
note: server was restarted because of power failure.

adding error bars to lattice plots
Dear R users,
About a year ago Deepayan offered a suggestion to incorporate error bars
into a dotplot using the singer data as an example
<<http://finzi.psych.upenn.edu/R/Rhelp02a/archive/63875.html>>.
When I try to utilize this code with a grouping variable, I get an error
stating that the subscripts argument is missing. I have tried to insert
them in various ways, but cannot

Changing point color/character in qqmath
Having solved this problem, I am posting this so that the next time I search
for how to do this I will find an answer...
Using qqmath(..., groups=num) creates a separate qq distribution for each
group (within a panel). Using the 'col' or 'pch' argument does not
(usually) work because panel.qqmath sorts the data (but not 'col' or 'pch')
before plotting. Sorting

How analyze performance (buffering) problems ?
Hello,
I'm looking for a method to track stream performance problems, I mean :
why does listeners got buffering ?
We are using two "front relay" that are hosted by differents providers.
The front relays are connected to our main server (which encode) that is
using two ADSL connections from two differents providers.
How can I do to know if there is a problem between "Front relay

Subplot.
Hello All,
I wanted to do many plots (in my case, wanted to get 6 histograms) on the
same figure. Is there a method in R that analogous to 'subplot' in MATLAB?
Any help will be very much appreciated.

IAX and Jitter problem
Hello,
I've been playing around with * for quite a while now, and have run into a
problem that I just cannot seem to figure out.
When using * and any IAX client (I have tested with GnoPhone and both
clients from iaxclient.sourceforge.net) I have incredibly bad jitter on the
connection.
What I'm running is a P3-1Ghz machine with 512mb ram for a server. The
other end has been

Someone has hacked into our system
Someone has hacked into our system and is making calls overseas.
How can I:
1. Find out the where the calls are originating from?
2. Block all calls that are not authorized?
Our system is in the USA.
Only calls from inside our LAN are allowed.
Thank you,
Gary Kuznitz

Icecast 2.2
Hi,
My stream host upgraded me to 2.2 and since that time I am no longer
listed on the Icecast directory. I use SAM3 and it is setup correctly
on my end and my provider states all is set correctly there, but it
still does not work. Has anyone had this problem?

bwplot
Hi,
I have 2 questions about bwplot in R :
1) How to change the order of my different boxes in the graph ?
2) How to rename the names of the differents boxes ? because I know
how to do that with boxplot (using names) but I do not find the
equivalent parameter in bwplot.
thanks,
