Asterisk 1.4: SPANDSP3 (WIP) HOWTO
Hi All,
To coincide with my Asterisk 1.4 Beta Howto, I've also started the
spandsp3 howto. The howto is functioning, however when attempting to
use rxfax or txfax it crashes asterisk. I am not a programmer thus
couldn't figure out how to make it not seg. Check out the WIP howto
for more information, and diffed files. Anyone who knows what they are
doing is welcome to help fix the howto,

Asterisk 1.4 : App_Swift (Cepstral) Howto
Hi All,
Recent discussions on app_cepstral on the list have led me to believe
there's some issues with Asterisk 1.4 I set about creating a small
howto for people to get cepstral, with app_swift working.
Check it out: http://www.voipphreak.ca/archives/354-Asterisk-1.4-Gentoo-CepstralSwift-Howto-using-App_Swift.html

Asterisk 1.4 + Cisco 7970
Hi All,
I recently received my Cisco 7970 and have it up and running with
8.0.4 firmware, with asterisk 1.4. Seems to function pretty great so
far, aside from a few issues.
Here is what I have noticed so far, anybody have any fixes for these issues?
1. Contrary to the forums and lists I've been reading - the phone
indeed does register. The
little registration animation stays on the screen

Cisco 7970 + New Firmware (8.2)
Hi All,
Found out Cisco has some newer firmware available for the 7970 series
of phones. New sip images are at version level 8.2 (instead of
8.0.2,8.0.3,8.0.4), posted Dec 10, 2006. This major jump in version
numbers has fixed a few bugs (time zone not updating properly), but
hasn't figured what some would consider to be showstoppers

Asterisk 1.4 : AstDB Callerid Rolodex Tool
Hi Guys,
Wrote up a small script for rolodex'ing with Asterisk this weekend.
It's really nothing fancy, but it's useful, and it's fast. Requires
apache/php on the Asterisk server for now.

[LLVMdev] MmapAllocator
Hi Steven-
Nice, but will this not break Windows? From an initial glance over your patch, it seems to assume the existence of mmap() in some form or other.

[LLVMdev] MmapAllocator
Hi folks,
I've been doing work on memory reduction in Unladen Swallow, and
during testing, LiveRanges seemed to be consuming one of the largest
chunks of memory. I wrote a replacement allocator for use by
BumpPtrAllocator which uses mmap()/munmap() in place of
malloc()/free(). It has worked flawlessly in testing, and reduces
memory usage quite nicely in Unladen Swallow.
The code is available

Any good tutorials for setting up Asterisk SNMP and Cacti for remote monitoring?
Hi Everyone,
I have been searching the web and I don't know if SNMP is just that complex
to setup or that not many people use SNMP to monitor Asterisk but the
information is scattered all over. I have got to the point to configure
SNMP with Asterisk and then it's all confusing from there on to actually see
the graphs in Cacti.
I would appreciate it if you can post your steps or point me

Xen 3.2.1 and large traffic problems
Hello,
I am having a issue with my Xen setup, that other people have reported
as well. No one seems to have a solution to this problem or an idea
what might cause it. My only hope is that I might get some more ideas
here in the devel list.
The basic problem is that if there is sustained high data rate traffic
through a virtual interface, it seems that the queues fill up and the

Digium Iaxy S100 Factory Default?
Hi All,
I have two old S100 units (the blue ones, not the newer black ones). I
am trying to reset these to factory default using the following
instructions, but it is not working. Does anyone have any other
suggestions to reset this model of the adapter?
Tried this:
1. Remove all of the cables, except for the power cable.
2. The factory reset button is next to the RJ45 jack. Press and hold

Possible overfitting of a GAM
The subject is a Generalized Additive Model. Experts caution us against
overfitting the data, which can cause inaccurate results. I am not a
statistician (my background is in Computer Science). Perhaps some kind soul
would take a look and vet the model for overfitting the data.
The study estimated the ebb and flow of traffic through a voting place. Just
one voting place was studied; the
