SNOM loses server registration
Hello to all When my SNOM (300 or 320) loses Internet connectivity, it loses its Asterisk registration (ok, thats normal). But when the phone is back online, he doesn't try to register in Asterisk. I believe this happens to avoid flooding the private LANs when the Internet link is lost.... but the problem is that the phones don't try to re-register in the future.... Sometimes it stays

Not Dialing 9
When I set up my Asterisk box at home I didn't want to have to dial 9 to dial off premises, so I gave all my local phones three digit extensions with this format: 1[1,0]*. My thought is that there are no area codes that start with 0 or 1, so if I use those numbers, I can create 20 local extensions that can be dialed with 3 digits, and not have to use a timeout when dialing long distance. Nagios monitoring with example42 modules
Folks: I''ve started to play around with the comprehensive integrated module set from example42 (http://www.example42.com/). Following the instructions, I set up one node as a nagios server, with ''include nagios''. I set up another node to be monitored via nagios, with ''include nagios::target". I set $monitor=true for the base node, which is inherited by

Sorting and getting occurrences of search in hit
Is there any way you could get the number of occurrences of the search in one hit? In a result I get the ferret_rank and ferret_score but not how many hits the search generated in the current record. I would also like to be able to sort after this when I search. /mattias -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

Asterisk monitoring with Nagios and IAX
Hi *, Does anyone have a lead on a Nagios plugin that speaks IAX or a small app to do so? I'm trying to set up remote monitoring for my Asterisk server and only IAX2 traffic is allowed through the firewall. Simply using check_udp to port 4569 yields no usable answer and Asterisk complains about receiving a midget packet or something like that :) jens

Quality monitoring
Does anyone out there have a recommendation for tools that will monitor the quality of VoIP systems? I am looking for jitter and MOS monitoring. I have a custom Nagios plugin that is alerting me if the jitter jumps out of a 20ms but I am looking for a little more detail. I would not be against writing something in Perl for Nagios to do but I don't really know where to start on measuring jitter

Nagios Monitoring with xentop
I am creating some custom nagios plugins and I am scraping data from xen using the nagios command: /usr/sbin/xentop -b -i 2 -d1 I am trying to get the network tx / rx data, however I think I am missing something here. NETTX(k) NETRX(k) So total network bandwidth is 1048576 k if the above header from xentop is true. So I am wondering why the output for each vm exceeds the theoretical max, Is

puppetlast nagios monitoring plugin
We had nodes on which puppetd keeps on dying and we like to know about it. So I wrote a small Nagios plugin (that we run through NRPE, naturally), to process the output of ''puppetlast'' regularly and monitor for boundary conditions. The source is maintaned here: http://hg.koumbit.net/module-puppet/file/tip/files/check_puppet Patches, comments, flames are welcome. A. -- The

Monitoring slaves via dummy-ups
Hello, I wondered how folks monitored slaves. In my case, I am using Nagios and the check_ups plugin. It seems to work fine but being new to nut, I'm seeking confirmation that this is a sane approach. The goal: confirm the slaves have contact with the master. The environment: * FreeBSD 12.1 * nut-2.7.4 installed from package Background: I am replacing an APC 2200 UPS (still in use) with

Thanks I let GParted create the file system. It was done on a rescue disk of Ubuntu 12.04 (GParted 0.11.0) I think that the problem is in my command line. Salted hash login, postgresql, unit tests
Hello, I have tried to install the salted hash login generator by following the quick start guide at: http://wiki.rubyonrails.com/rails/pages/SaltedLoginGeneratorQuickstart. Nagios asterisk monitoring
Dear list, I am trying to configure the nagios plugin called check_sip. I just read the README file included with the plugin. I follow the readme steps to configure the plugin, without success. In the nagios web interface I can see (No output!) In the status information column. If I run the chech_sip plugin from a linux console, I get /usr/local/nagios/libexec# ./check_sip -u
