How to route certain ports to other link
Hi,
I have one satellite link and one sdsl link. And, one
LAN link.
My load balancing is working great with a iptables''s
masquerading (no fw rules).
Now, I need to route the following ports to my sdsl
link: -
20, 21, 22, 25, 80, 110, 143, and 443
Whereas the others go to my satellite link.
Does anyone done this before?
Regards,
rootlinux

IAX2 trunking scalability
Hi List,
I have a 2Mbps SDSL link which gets saturated during peak time because
about I have about 3 E1 worth of g729 traffic going thru. So I'm planning
to use IAX2 trunking to reduce bandwith requirement and squeeze out each
and every bit of this (expensive) bandwith.
I've set up two boxes (debian etch), one in a remote data center (which
has plenty of bandwith) and one behing

Nearing my wits end....bad switch???
Grasping at straws here...is anyone using a Dell PowerConnect 2224
24-port unmanaged 10/100 switch in a deployment?
I have two separate asterisk installations with bad one-way audio where
the only common elements left are the Dell switches and Polycom IP-500
phones. Two different ITSPs - one location uses IAX2 to the outside
world, the other SIP. Two different bandwidth providers, one SDSL 1.5

12 seat call centre with Asterisk, VoIP only, UK - possible?
Hi,
I've had an inquiry for a small UK call centre, mostly outbound calls.
I get the impression they
are mainly calling 3G mobile phones, monthly phone bill, with calls is
approx ?5,000 for several
feature lines.
How feasible is something like this with asterisk?
I guess one big question is which type of circuit to use, ADSL in the
UK is only 256kbs upstream,
some providers do bonding but

MTU and Voice Delay (latency??)
Our users are experiencing some unacceptable delay when trying to have a
conversation. The delay is so noticeable that they keep stepping on each

Here is the setup

Speedtouch 610 SDSL Modem
3Com 2224PWR Plus Switch (phones on separate VLAN)

Newbie-needs help
Hello all:
I''ve read the documentation and am not quite sure where to start.
What I''m trying to do is build a network with a 3 NIC Shorewall router.
My system is behind a routed /49 network.
I''d like to use 2 or 3 of the static IP addresses for my DMZ ( DNS server, mail, webserver etc ) and
then have my remaining machines in a private network NATed is some way.

Multi-tenant with receptionist features for managed service
Dear all,
I'm currently researching options for a MT asterisk gui/system for a
small business centre that will have 12 units in it. Each unit will be
configured for one extension.
The system there will have a max of 12 concurrent calls to PSTN
provided via an ADSL/SDSL link to our VoIP provider in the UK, using
g.711, maybe g.729 dependant on networking costs. Fallback will
be to 4 analogue

bonding of 2 lines
Dear List,
Another noob question today!
I''ve been using iproute2 for a long time now to manage bandwidth and
directing traffic over multiple interfaces based on source routing.
I am working on a test-project at the moment, in witch I want to
actually bundle (''trunk'') some connections. In the LARTC-manual I found
the chapter about TEQL (see chapter 10). The situation

Hi,
We're running the rsync 2.4.7 pre-release to backup a number of servers to a
central backup server, all running Linux 2.2.17 kernel. We moved up to
2.4.7, hoping it would fix the 'unexpected EOF' errors which we were getting
everytime we'd run more than a handful of rsyncs at the same time. Initial
tests have not shown the EOF errors. However, on one backup, when rsync

Samba multi-site advice request please
Hi all,
I am looking at setting up a multi-site office and need to put a plan
forward. The site consists of one head office and several branch office
and my plan so far is this:
In head office, one Samba PDC. Each branch office will have a local BDC
that also stores files local to the branch, hopefully cutting down the
day to day traffic across the VPN. The VPN I plan to use is OpenVPN in

ftp port 24562 pasv doesnt work, no logging
Hi,
I have a cisco sdsl modem to connect to internet via eth1 (192.168.1.2)
local is eth0 (192.168.2.254)
default gw is 192.168.1.1
the cisco forwards all incoming ports to 192.168.1.2.
I connect from outside on port 24562, login is successfull, the
ftpserver gives back the external Ip of the cisco as pasv IP to the
client (its a setting in the ftpserver). It gives an ip from the pasv

Should I choose DSL @ 1.5 or a full T1?
I'm looking to expand my bandwidth for my Asterisk PBX.
Why should I choose a T1 over DSL for my asterisk server?
I found someone offering T1's for $290 a month + Loops or 3 Meg for $561 a month + Loops. Is this a good deal?
Thanks
Bart

Hi There,
We currently using iproute2 for load balancing. However we need more

Basic connection between Mitel 3300 ICP and Asterisk (trixbox) - from a clueless newbie....
Hi all,
Our company has deployed a Mitel 3300 system (only about 2.5 years ago)
and we are experimenting with setting up Asterisk in our head office
(for business continuity, ie we have a bird flu epidemic and no-one can
come in, therefore use SIP softphones at home to co-ordinate activity)
and at a remote site in the Isle of Man (connected via 2Mbps SDSL)
Ideally we'd like anyone on either
