Good day all
I cant get my WIP 5000 to roam 100%
I have 2 access points, different SSI's
I make a config1 and config2 on the phone, each for the different SSID's(A &

WiFi phone radiation regulation?
All,
I just had the fortune to take one of the new Senao Wifi SIP phones for
a short test drive. First look - it's a nice, compact phone. Weighs
around 87g and roughly the size of a Nokia 6210. More on the those
later. The thing that struck me was the RF power, it's rated at 100mw
(20dBm). That's 10 times more than any of the other brands out on the
market Cisco, WiSIP, Zyxel

WiFi Phones (was Looking for Wireless Heaset for Polycom 501)
Martin:
I had seen your other post and sent you a message off-list, but I never got
a response. What do you feel is the most lacking that does not make it ready
for a production enviroment.

I've been using a SIP deskphone in my office and usually some sort of ATA at
my house, both as the primary phone. I've also had mobile phones from almost
every carrier. Each one of these devices

Power burn test
I need a program that will just run everything at max so I can measure
the max power used on some systems. My 'Kill a Watt' meter should show
up early next week.
SO run that CPU at max, using all memory, and keeping the harddrive
spinning.
I can jsut do pings on the lan card for it to stay awake.
I have searched here and on the net and have come back with nothing.

Power over Ethernet (PoE) switch recommendations
Hi listers,
I am looking for people who have used Power over Ethernet switches, primarily in conjunction with Polycom IP 501's. I've been looking at the Linksys SRW224P, since I've had good luck with the SRW224 in our office. However, Nortel, Cisco, Adtran, etc. all have an offering, all of which vary in price. I would appreciate any input people have to offer.
Thanks,
James

TrippLite SmartPro UPS and nut-2.0.2
I have a TrippLite SmartPro UP (SMART3000RM2U) that shipped with the DB9
cable# 73-0866. nut doesn't recognize the UPS using the tripplite
driver. I found this page:
http://www.tripplite.com/support/download/PA12/help/device.htm
The link lists the SmartPro series as using the cables 73-0724 or 73-0844 and
the Internet 350/525 is listed as using a cable 73-0866. I have a few

OT: Home NAS device
I am looking for something that I can hack away like a NSLU2 but that thing only has one disc
and worst of all its 100m interface. Anyone know of a device you can load Linux on that has
maybe 2 discs like a NAS200 with a gig nic? I need a quiet device to act as a tftp-dhcp/web/dns
system.
I thought of just building one from a new Soekris board, or even a mini itx but hope there was
something

single stream performance issue, Win2K, WinXP, Samba 3.2.5-4lenny7 (Debian Lenny)
Hello fellow Samba users and devs. This is my first post. I've searched
documentation far and wide for Windows, Linux, and Samba, and have not been able
to shed any light on this issue.
I can't get more than 8MB/s during a single file copy stream out of my Samba
server over my 100FDX switched network either from Win2K or WinXP (I don't have
a *nix client to test with). The network

Cheap PoE switches/injectors?
I'm trying to spec out hardware for a new office, and I'd like to
include power over Ethernet as an option. I've seen a handful of PoE
injectors around $1000 for 24 ports and a couple switches up around
$2500 for 24 ports. Are there any cheaper options, short of buying a
boatload of 1-port injectors off of ebay? I don't really need more
then 24 ports of PoE out of 48 total

Compile driver for new kernel rpm
Hi All,
My question is directed at those with kernel compiling experience.
I have a driver source xxxxx.c file and a Makefile with it.
I want to recompile the kernel to include the driver and rebuild the initrd.img.
Where do I copy the file in the kernel sources?
I currently have it in a sub folder of the drivers directory in the kernel source folder.
There is one more question if I may, it does
