Linking Asterisk Servers using SIP instead of IAX
I posted a new article on linking Asterisk Servers via SIP instead of IAX on
my web site. It is newbie driven, but I think useful for many since the
information is in one place. Just search 'Linking Asterisk Servers' and all
you will come up with is IAX configurations.

Enchance Me 1.004 Released!
Today I released Enhance Me 1.004 for AMP 1.10 and Asterisk @ Home 2.2.
These utilities allow for speed dialing, a revised version which uses AMP to
store speed dial numbers and NAMES so that only operators of the web
interface can add and delete speed dials. Data is stored in mysql instead
of Asterisks' DB. This stops the waste of the 300 series extension numbers.

booting suse 9.2 live cd (uses isolinux)
Hello,
I have downloaded and burned Suse 9.2 Live CD. The problem is, it won't
boot. I get "searching for boot record on CDROM... not found" message and
then system just boots from hard drive. Other bootable cdroms work, it's
just suse that doesn't.
I post this here because suse live cd uses isolinux (isolinux.cfg below).
Is there a way to make the cd boot, maybe using

complete newbie Q
Hi all
I'm a programmer at the psychology dept, and last week, I was asked to write
an application to analyze some result data from CO2 measurement experiments.
I don't want to reinvent the wheel, so before I start custom coding in C,
I'd though to look around a bit and bumped into R on freshmeat.
basically, it is a 2-column data sheet, with timings on col1 and CO2 value
on col2.

coherency and phase plots
I am having a hard time interpreting the phase and coherency plots.
x is two timeseries that occur at the same time i.e.

31 11.4 12.5

more or less the same frequency just shifted by t=x (imagine two sine

T1 Channel splitting PRI/data not working
I'll keep asking weird questions here:
I have two T1 WAN circuits originating at my asterisk box and
terminating at Asterisk servers at remote sites. Currently I use zaptel
ppp assigned to all 24 channels for data. Now I would like to split off
a few of these channels for voice trunks (I should use VOIP, but at the
moment I do not have fast enough servers for the codecs)

T1 PRI shows yellow/red alarm
We are running Asterisk version 1.4.23-1, libpri-1.4.9 and
zaptel-1.4.12.1 and two Digium TE220Ps. Debugs are set to 10.
We have a T1 PRI connected to the telco. Over the last 4-5 days, we
have getting Yellow/Red alarms coming from the T1 PRI. The other two
ports in use are connected to internal test switches (Avaya
Legend/Avaya Definity), and are not showing any errors.

T100P-E100P circuit board differences
Hi-
Perhaps someone with an E100P in hand can answer this:
I just received an E100P from Digium (I normally buy quad boards)
I noticed that the circuit board says "T100P" on it, and I assume that the
T100P and E100P both use the same circuit board.
Can someone please confirm that their E100P says "T100P" on the artwork?
Thanks

Non-PRI T1 configuration
I'm trying to hook up a non-PRI fractional T1 using a T400P port. The
Telco says that it is provisioned as AMI with SF (not ESF) and that they are
signalling by "sending down a straight DS1" (I'm not sure what exactly that
means). They are also sending DNIS over these channels. I currently run it
through a channel bank for my IVR application and it works fine but I am now

Special handling of IAX circuit-busy vs busy
Hello, we've had an Asterisk solution working for quite awhile. Today our
IAX2 carrier started reporting circuit-busy to all calls for approximately
an hour, which is different than a busy condition. I'm guessing that this
indicates the carrier was having an outage, or was handling too many
concurrent IAX2 calls.
Is there a way to change our dialplan to fail to PSTN in case Dial(*)

What happened here when transfering a call ? Circuit-busy ???
I call the firm from my portable at home (zoiper softphone). I have
internal extension 60, and I call the internal SIP-client 10 at the firm
via an IAX-connection over internet.
My colleague at phone 10 answers my call. I ask him to transfer me with
my colleague at extension 50. He then presses "transfer" on the
grandstream GXP2020 (I get music) and dials the number 50. Phone 50

[PATCH] update obj->num_comments if short circuit in read_metadata_vorbiscomment_
In function read_metadata_vorbiscomment_ from stream_decoder.c, at
various locations where we short circuit the computation, we also set
`obj->num_comments` accordingly. For example:

[LLVMdev] Disable Short-Circuit Evaluation?
Is there any way to disable short-circuit evaluation of expressions in
Clang/LLVM?
Let's say I have C code like the following:
bool validX = get_group_id(0) > 32;
int globalIndexY0 = get_group_id(1)*186 + 6*get_local_id(1) + 0 + 1;
bool valid0 = validX && globalIndexY0 >= 4 && globalIndexY0 < 3910;
int globalIndexY1 = get_group_id(1)*186 + 6*get_local_id(1) +

I considered the short-circuit operators (-! and +!) for filter commands, but I
am not convinced of their utility. Do you have an example of a real-life
situation that they improve?
Note also that the suggested syntax for the new operators is now being used to

voip alarm circuit
Hi,
I've been trying to get my ADT alarm panel ( Lynx24R ) to work with asterisk
and sipura SPA 2000. So far the alarm company has been recieveing lot of
undefined events.
Someone suggested I should change communication format to 4x2
instead of default Ademco CID. Unfortantely ADT is reluctant to hand
me over the information I need. I can change the communication format
on the panel since
