Problems with wine/openSuse 10.2/Papyrus 12.56
Hi all, I have recently changed from Suse 10.0 to openSuse 10.2 on my desktop PC, and I am having problems running the latest version of Papyrus (12.56) a Windows word-processor. I can run an older version of Papyrus without any trouble. On the same machine I can also boot into my Suse 10.0 setup and Papyrus 12.56 runs fine in that. Both 10.0 and 10.2 are using the lastest wine version -

pdf-printer
Hi, I recently migrated from samba3 to samba4. On the samba3 server I had a "printer" that converted pcl6 to pdf. I tried to make a similar printer in samba4, but it's not working. Not working means the printed document is nowhere to be found. This is the section in smb.conf : [papyrusPDF] comment = Papyrus-to-PDF printer path = /var/spool/samba # guest ok = Yes

No gaps were perceivable decoding in ogg123. However, an interesting effect can be had if all the parts have the same serial number. You get a bump

ices2 metadata update causes gaps
Mike... did you look into this? I posted a waveform from a file generated by ogg123 dumping to a wav (so that audio driver problems were eliminated). It looks to me like ices2 is restarting the vorbis encoder in a non-gapless way when it stops and starts the encoding (to change the stream id and update the metadata). Because I'm doing crossfades from one track to another, this shows up.

ices2, metadata, bumps and crashes
I'm using ices2's metadata facility to update the name of a track in a vorbis stream: <input> <module>alsa</module> <param name="rate">44100</param> <param name="channels">2</param> <param name="device">hw:1,0</param> <param name="metadata">1</param>

Rep:Re: [HELP] file access
Hi! A .ST file actually is a file representing an Atari ST disk. As Atari used Dos format, I can do (if I want): mount /pathTo/file.st /pathTo/mntPoint -t msdos -o loop So Stew (the Atari emulator) actually does file access, not disk access. Still, I'll follow Mr Patel's suggestion, and try to send the resulting file. Yves. -----Message d'origine De: g.patel@wanadoo.fr----- >I use

Control + Function key doesn't work in VB form
Hi, I have installed openSUSE 10.2 (i586) and Wine 1.1.16. I am able to run the VB exe in SUSE and it connect to Sql server. In the VB application I have set Cntrl+F6 key to load another form. But any key combination with Cntrl key doesn't fire. Do I have to disable this Cntrl key combination in SUSE or Wine? Thanks

rsync 2.5.5 consuming memory and spirals server down
Hi there, I've a problem with rsync - see below. (by the way: I'm using rsync since 2 years now, good work!) my environment: - linux, 2.4, Dual-PIII-1.2GHz, 1 GB RAM. more of these machines. - rsync 2.5.5 - openssh 3.3 the machines are on a lan, so bandwith is not a problem. I sync large directories (about 6 GB growing) between the machines, no problem - memory consumtion of rsync is

paste (CTRL + v) not working rgui
R community, I feel almost embarrassed to ask this question as it is strange behavior. When I think there's a bug around R or a package I ask "Self it's not a bug what dumb thing are you doing?" I'm running version 2.14.2 (2012-02-29) on a Windows 7 machine using the standard rgui Ever since I downloaded this latest version I have been having difficulty using the windows

MagiC PC installer doesn't like wine
I've wine installed as part of SuSE Linux 9.1 Pro and it works fine for several windows prgs. I try to install the Atari emulator Magic PC (because it is better than STonX). Wine starts the installer of MagiC, Setup.exe, which gives the message "can't open ... Setup.ex_". Setup.exe works under win98 but under wine it looks for itself with the wrong extension .ex_ MagiC PC test

how to compile a xen dom0 kernel the debian way
hello, What is the current situation with xen on amd64? the debian/sid archive keeps no linux-image-2.6.22-2-xen-amd64, and I was not able to compile a 2.6.22 dom0 kernel with debian xen patches applied on my amd64 system. I have linux-source-2.6.22 and linux-patch-debian-2.6.22 installed, and followed the instructions from the workaround for

quasi-symmetry loglinear models
Hi All, I'm trying to implement a quasi symmetry model for data on twin pairs. A crosstabulation of twin 1 by twin 2 (assumed symmetrical) stratified by another variable. There is a good paper on this by Phil (?) McCloud and Darroch in Biometrika (1995) which explains the method, but I've not done this before so am not clear how to code these models. Any help would be greatly

debugger not recognizing C routine names
Something seems to have changed with the debugger option since I used it last, unless I've forgotten something really stupid (much more likely) . The debugger doesn't seem to recognise the names of C routines ***************** [jonm at localhost jonm]$ cat test.c #include "S.h" void test(int *x,int *y){ y[0]=x[0]+2; } [jonm at localhost jonm]$ R COMPILE test.c gcc

grep and PCRE fun
Hello, I think I've found a bug in the C function do_grep located in src/main/grep.c. It seems to affect both the latest revisions of R-2-13-branch and trunk when compiling R without optimizations and with it's own version of pcre located in src/extra, at least on ubuntu 10.04. According to the pcre_exec API (I presume the later versions), the ovecsize argument must be a multiple of 3 ,

New release of aoTuV
For those who missed it, there's a new release of aoTuV (beta 4.5). According to Aoyumi-san, there's some new tuning for audio below quality set 3 (-q3), but I have not tested it myself yet. I wonder when Monty will actually check the new versions of aoTuV and merge them with main trunk. Latest tests on HA show the latest tunings of Aoyumi-san have matured Vorbis a lot, and
