Global videoconferencing solution.
Hello everybody, i am searching a solution for a videoconferencing, Any
solution (Free/commercial). Asterisk is a great software, but recently we
have more and more demands about videoconferencing of 3 or more peoples,
Existing solutions are heavy and costly, around 2500? for 1 client. This is
insane. Is there any solutions out there for non millionaires ? Or even Free
? I remember a company who

Jitsi Meet on CentOS 7 ?
Hi,
Anyone here managed to run Jitsi Meet on a CentOS 7 server ? As far as I can
tell, it's one of the nicer open source videoconferencing solutions out there.
I gave it a spin on https://suricate.tv and now I'd like to install it on one
of my servers.
Unfortunately the Jitsi developers only provide documentation for
Debian/Ubuntu. Well, there is some sort of guide for CentOS around. As

Interesting. I use it on a regular basis... it's how we're doing
videoconferencing in RedHat right now. Is FF just going above and
beyond?

Scriptaculous + Prototype shrunk to < 50Kb
Maybe I''m anal but I like fat-free JS, so I pulled the Proptotype and core
Scriptaculous files into one single JS file at 49Kb.
It''s "packed" so if you care about that kind of thing, it''s also
"obfuscated".

anti-virus
Hello all
Have a small problem. We use Samba as our PDC for a large amount of NT clients. We also use Sophos anti-virus to protect the workstations and servers. The problem basically is that although I can get Sophos to work properly I have to go to the actual workstation to install it from the server. Once I've done this Sophos works fine and automatically updates from the server.

Videoconferencing with speex and jabber
Speaking of video conferencing in conjunction with Speex, we are
currently beta testing a solution we developed that offers multi-point,
multi-party video and audio using the Speex engine for voice.
http://www.wiredred.com/downloads/ecsetup.exe
The fair and good audio settings are Speex narrowband, high quality is
HawkVoice and toll quality is PCM.

Festival tts
Hi I have installed Festival on the same box as asterisk and followed the
instructions to integrate it with asterisk.
Festival seems to work fine on its own performing text to speech from the
command line or via a file.
Asterisk answers the call but there is no speech. I can see no errors in the
Festival log file
The asterisk console shows

Theora 1.1 rate controller
Hello everyone,
I'm currently developing an adaptive videoconferencing application based on
Ekiga which uses TFRC as a congestion control mechanism to adapt the video
encoding rate according to the quality of the network experienced. My goal
was to use the open-source Theora codec for video transmission.
Unfortunately, it seemed that Theora 1.0 did not properly implement any
correct CBR mode.

Hi Carsten,
due to the ongoing discussion on both lists, i simply respond to both
lists. it's hard crossposting, but it's for both roups relevant (i
think).
<p>+After having thought about control structures, it makes sense to me to
do the extra work and merge this creamed cake into a jabber server
component. Otherwise a control channel to the server component would

Videoconferencing solutions with Asterisk-
Does anyone have any experience with this? We're looking to deploy a
pretty robust HiDef Video Conferencing solution, and if it were built
around Asterisk, that'd be a huge bonus. It looks like a bounty was
offered on it for a while with no results, and now an Indian company -
Adiance - claims to have a solution, but I can't find any real feedback
on it from end users.

Polycom videoconferencing with asterisk?
Hello,
Has anyone used Polycom's VSX line of videoconferencing equipment with
Asterisk?
It seems some of their models, namely the newer VSX 5000, supports SIP.
