OT - Is Netgear ProSafe FS108P with PoE silent ?
Hi,
I need to locate a Asterisk server and a PoE-enabled switch on someone's
desk.
I've seen this Netgear ProSafe FS108P with 4 10/100 and 4 10/100 w/PoE ports
silent enough ?
Any recommendation ?

POE hub
I need to connect up to sixteen phones per building, I can use a cheap hub,
but POE would be useful. Is there a cheap POE hub available? Everything I
have seen has been expensive.

dialparties.agi is returning no extensions to dial
Hi,
I set up a ring group. I would like for people who select a certain voice
menu option to ring a list of extensions (I have just one extension in there at
the moment) and if it doesn't answer to go to an extension's voice mail. I am
using a version of asterisk from CVS, last updated a couple of weeks ago.
This line in extensions_addtional.conf sends the call to ringgroup 3 if

Any quiet 24 port POE switches out there?
I have an upcoming install which places the switch close to some
employees in a quiet work environment. Can anyone recommend a quiet 24
port POE switch? The Linksys SRW224P behind me right now would be
objectionable, I'm sure.

Notification of new voicemail by various methods
I would like to have my asterisk ring my cell phone and let me know when a new
voicemail arrives. In fact if it would automatically put into the voicemail
menu that would be cool too. In the future I will probably want it to IM me.
Are there good examples somewhere of doing stuff automatically on the arrival of
a new voicemail ?
I noticed a place for the pager email address in voicemail.conf,

Netgear FS116P and Cisco 79XX phones
I am hoping that someone has had better luck with this than I have.
I would like to connect Cisco 7940s and 7960s to the Netgear FS116P, and
take advantage of its POE. I know that the Cisco phones use Cisco's
"pre-standard" POE implementation, but as I understand it the difference is
really only two pins.
I bought a bunch of PowerDsine inline power adapters which supposedly change

POS Terminals
Hello List -
I've got a question regarding POS terminal transactions (credit card
machines, ATM, etc...).
Currently we setup customers in the following manner:
Customer Location --> Data T1 --> DataCenter -> PSTN Termination
We are currently using Mediatrix gear for fax transmissions from the
customer location, but they don't seem to handle POS modem sales very well.

A unique 'click to call' project - Could use some advice
Hello List,
I work for an IP communication provider in upstate NY as the engineer
assisting our technical support team.
We provide a number of different Telco systems to residential
subscribers; and in an effort to more effectively trouble shoot
termination problems I came up with the idea of creating a click to call
system that will allow our agents to effortlessly place test calls.

Contradictory results between different heteroskedasticity tests
Hi all,
I'm getting contradictory results from bptest and ncvTest on a model
calculated by GLS as:
olslm = lm(log(rr)~log(aloi)*reg*inv, data)
varlm = lm(I(residuals(olslm)^2)~log(aloi)*reg*inv, data)
glslm = lm(log(rr)~log(aloi)*reg*inv, data, weights=1/fitted(varlm))
Testing both olslm and glslm with both ncvTest and bptest gives:

Multiple queue_log files based on queue - is it possible??
Hello List,
Question: Has anyone been able to create multiple queue_log files in
/var/log/asterisk for multiple queues?
We are designing a multi-tenant system and separating the log files
would be useful, instead of dropping all queue actions into one file.
Is it possible this is a user configurable option I am missing?
Cheers,

How to best manage my dial plans as the continue to grow, and grow, and grow....
Hello List -
I've been slowing growing my extensions.conf file and have been wondering
how everyone manages their systems. I currently have my main
extensions.conf where I reference my sub extensions (for tenants or
customers) files using the include statements and define my global
variables. Today while watching the asterisk console I noticed a call from
a voicemail user bounced into

A unique 'click to call' project - Could usesome advice
Colin,
Thanks for your assistance.
Reading over your advice I seem to still be a bit confused.
My agents are not on the Asterisk server; it appears in your advice that
my the call will travel this path:
WWW interface --> agent enters their DID, platform to use, and
termination DID --> AST calls agent --> Agent calls termination DID
If my agents are not on the Asterisk server

Asterisk and iBasis
Hi,
We are currently trying to setup Asterisk with iBasis. One question/problem we have is that Ibasis has told us to send the INVITEs to one IP address and all media to a different IP address. How can we do that in Asterisk?
Thanks

Are any versions of the Cisco 7940/7960 or 7940G/7960G phones compatible

Ok, I know the question has been asked before, but googling has turned up
several contradictory results:
1/ No - not at all
2/ Maybe - 79XXG will work
3/ With a special cable/dongle (a la wikki)

Virtual IP Adresses and SIP requests failing...
Hey All:
Question; when using a virtual IP on an Asterisk server, I am having trouble
getting sip user to register to the ViP. They are able to register with the
true IP, just not the virtual.
It seems Asterisk is rejecting the SIP invite, register, etc (like it's not
destined for this server)
I've added all the IP's to the domain listing in sip.conf and in the
Asterisk console a

airlink gigabit ethernet card
Hello Xen users,
I want to purchase some gigabit ethernet cards.
Our local Fry''s is having a $5.99 special on Airlink gigabit PCI cards
with the Realtek chipset.
Any experiences with this chipset vis-a-vis xen that would preclude its use?
Thanks for your advice,
Mike Wright :m)
