[OT] Polycom provisioning
Does anyone have the polycom soundpoint ip's successfully remotely
provisioning? I've got the phone pulling default configs, and it's
downloading phone specific information, but it's not actually using that
information. Any help would be appreciated :)

Asterisk 1.6.x and auto-provisioning - Polycom
Hi all,
I saw that there was an auto-provisioning feature on asterisk 1.6.x for
the Polycoms. But no real documentation.
I would like to know how, exactly, does the network has to be
configured to allow that. I used to provision my Polycom phones with the
help of tftp or ftp. But if there's a way to do that directly with
Asterisk, I would prefer that. So I need to know what I need to do

Polycom Provisioning Problems
Hello
I am having some difficulties provisioning a set of polycom 501 phones,
while another set of phones are working just fine.
My Asterisk box is dual homed. On one network, where the asterisk box
runs dhcpd and there are only phones, provisioning works as expected.
However, for phones that are connected thru the other interface (and
receive their IP address from a separate router), they are

Snom (vs Polycom) - provisioning
Hi,
I`m not actually asking for a comparaison between the two, I have one on
hand and will make up my own mind. But I can't find much info on whether
the Snom (370 to be exact) accepts FTP provisioning like the Polycom (but
few others) do.
Any Snom user can answer this one for me?

New Polycom Provisioning Tool Released with BugFix
Polycom Provisioning Tool Updated.
I made a bug fix that was reported, which was causing the directory
creator to not work when there was an invalid character in the filename
of the csv.
I have also posted an FAQ: http://www.wintrisk.com/ppt.html#FAQ
Download the new one, and tell me what you think! It's free, and mildly
useful!

Polycom provisioning and Pure-FTP : problems
I`m trying to provision my Polycom 501s using Pure-FTP. Everything has been
working fine, until I put a new bootlog.ld file. Sniffing the packets
between my phone and the FTP server during transfer, I noticed that the file
is not 100% sent (it seems to send about a third of it, and then the phone
wisely detects it as being corrupted and reboots).
I have suceeded in using other FTP clients to

OT - How to configure Apache2 server to receive Polycom log files ?
Hello,
To troubleshoot Polycom phone provisionning (with an asterisk 11 box), I'm
looking to enable HTTP log file upload ie the capability for Polycom phones
to upload some data to a given HTTP server.
At the moment, Polycom phones are downloading config files from an Apache2
HTTP server, thanks to a DHCP server configuration option bellow.

OT How to Change Polycom Web Admin User:Pass via Web
I setup a number of remote phones on public IPs using the web
interface. Now my question is how do I change the default Polycom:456
password via the web interface. Is there a hidden way or does it have
to be done via FTP TFTP?
Thanks,

OT - DECT-GAP Handsets with Polycom-Kirk 600/3 base station
Hi,
I need to subscribe and use several Polycom-Kirk 5020 handsets along
non-Polycom-Kirk handsets on a one-cell Polycom-Kirk 600/3 base station.
Has anyone tried this ?
Which values did you pick for Subscription mode (with or without Account
Code) and IPEI ?

OT - MWI, Polycom/kirk and Gigaset handsets
Hi,
It seems to me that DECT Gigasets do not support MWI when connected to a
Polycom/Kirk DECT base station :
when a new message is dropped into user's mailbox, I can see a NOTIFY
message sent by Asterisk to Polycom/Kirk DECT base station (here a KWS300)
but Gigaset's handset MWI remains unlit.
At the same time, a Polycom/Kirk handset subscribed to the same base station
would turn its MWI

polycom custom ring tones (slightly OT)
Hi all,
Has anyone made up custom ring tones for the Polycom SIP phones? We use
different rings for different lines, but the ones it comes with are all very
similar. In the interesting of sharing, here's one I made up for paging:
<PAGE_BEEP se.pat.ringer.13.name="Page Beep"
se.pat.ringer.13.inst.1.type="chord" se.pat.ringer.13.inst.1.value="12"

Rebooting ALL polycom phones
Hi,
I know that if you have Polycom phones properly configured, you can use "sip
notify polycom-check-cfg SIP_REGISTRATION_ID" to have the phones download
the new configuration from the provisioning server and reboot.
Is there anyway to send the same command to all peers (let's say I had 50
polycom phones that I wanted to reboot)?
Thanks,
Mike

OT: PC network down if plugged in Polycom IP600
Hi all,
I dont know why, but if I plug my PC inside the 'PC' slot on my polycom,
this is not working. (Polycom IP600 is online on the net.)
I'm using normal network cables. (I see jumpers behind the phone... do I
need to play arround with that?)
Any help would be appreciated.

OT: Polycom Firmware available (by accident?)
Not sure if Polycom is changing their policy or if this is an accident,
but you can actually download SIP 3.1.1 right from their web site.
Anyone looking for firmware should get it now before it disappears.
SIP app and release notes can be found here:

OT: Polycom BootRom 3.1.3 and vsftpd 2.0.3 WARNING!!!
Hello everyone,
Please forgive the exclamation points but I have been battling this one
off and on for about four days now. Sorry for the cross post.
It all started with a box of IP 501s. I contacted my reseller and
obtained the latest BootRom and SIP firmware. Unzipped, configured,
copied over to my FTP server (running AstLinux, of course). The phone
booted, so far so good. Updated

Polycom
I know this doesn't belong on this list but... I am looking to see if
anyone is using Polycom and knows of a web based software for
creating/managing the cfg files for polycom phones. I see that the
AsteriskNow will add provisioning support for Polycom phones. Since
it is still in beta, I was just looking to see if there was anything
else out there.
Thanks!

OT: Polycom Registration Weirdness
This is a SER/Polycom question, but I hoped we may have some SER guru's here...
I have a series of Polycom phones that are tying to register with OpenSER. The phone sends a REGISTER message, and OpenSER replies with Unauthorised (all normal). The phone re-sends the REGISTER with the credentials, and OpenSER sends Ok.
Here's where it goes downhill. The polycom's appearance display
