request of information about creating DLL from R to be used in other languages/programs
Hello
My question is the following. I have tried to find a similar subject in
archives but not found (perhaps bad search!) and I tried R-help and I was
advised that R-devel would perhaps better for my question
So I wonder if it is possible to create a dll from a R code to use it in
another language/program.
Indeed, one of my colleague wrote a R code combining some R functions to

Security article on The Inquirer
The title is "Microsoft cerebrates fifteen years of poor security". But
it's about more than Microsoft's security. It talks about buffer
overflows, memory separation, OpenBSD's data "canary", etc. I think it's
a good read for anyone interested on this kind of stuff.

Amount of memory under different OS
Hi,
I have a problem: I need to perform a very tough analysis, so I would like
to buy a new computer with about 16 GB of RAM. Is it possible to use all
this memory under Windows or have I to install other OS?
Thanks,
Marco

EXT3 fs error on RAID1 device
Hi all.
I have a Dell SC440 running Centos 4.4. It has two 500GB disks in a
RAID1 array using linux software raid (md1 is / and md0 is /boot).
Recently the root file system was remounted read-only for some reason.
The logs don't show anything unusual, presumably the file system was
read-only before anythng was logged. Running dmesg showed this error
repeated many times:

building a phone
Hi folks
A common wisdom here is that one should use a proper hardware phone
rather that an extra software on the user's PC. Why is that such a big
issue?
One thing that bothers me with the current crop of hardware SIP phones
is that they are hopelessly properitary.
So what would it take to build a fully-adaptable phone?
Here are some of my thoughts. This is not anything I plan to do soon
