Fwd: Asterisk on Solaris 10 (AMD Opteron, Sun Fire X2100)
Hello all, I really appreciate the replies I've gotten about this so far (especially the support for wanting to run it on Solaris!). The core issue seems to have been missed, though -- is there any way to run a complete Asterisk solution on Solaris 10 (including music-on-hold and conferencing)? This probably comes down to a few issues: - Is ztdummy (a component of Zaptel) *really*

Polling Asterisk for Life
Hi, Occassionally Asterisk will go down and I have to restart it.. not often.. but sometimes. When it does the manager interface stops working, as does the CLI. My thoughts was to poll the manager interface once every 5 minutes for a value. If I don't get the value back then alert me that the server is possibly down. Does anyone know what a good value to poll for might be? I was thinking

Nested MySQL Commands
Is it possible to have nested MySQL queries in extensions.conf? Ie, perform a query, grab a value, and then jump to another location in the dialplan and do another query based on that original value. I'm having problems with the result and fetchid's and I'm not sure if it's even possible to do this or not. Thanks, Doug. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML

Asterisk ---- SER ----- GAteway and Reinvite
Hi, i'm using * with SER and a cisco 3725 as Gateway. I noticed that the reinvite is not working if i use SER and if i don't use IT (*---->Gateway) the reivite works so the * server is able to let the RTP direct from gateway to SIP Clients. Do you know in which way can i let it work with the SER too. Becouse i need SER to manage other VOIP communities but if i'm not able to use

Match a Numer - then continue with dialplan
Anyone know if there's a way to match a dialplan extension, execute some code, say set a variable, and then continue with the dialplan? I want to set a variable when the dialplan flows beyond a certain context. This would be a great feature. Doug.

Reproducible ReInvites sent by UAS after exactly 900s despite session-timers=refuse
Hello! I'm facing ReInvites as caller from UAS despite configured session-timers=refuse (which can be seen in the SIP trace) always after 900s. (The behavior is the same if session-timers is set to accept). This just happens with one provider (German Telekom to callee at kabelbw). - The incoming ReInvite is answered immediately by asterisk (Status 100 / Status 200 - 0.02s). Media stream

Zaptel based timing for VoIP-only Asterisk
Hi, In a VoIP only environment, Asterisk has to use ztdummy to have any chance of playing back understandable audio files (without drops, hickups etc). I have been using ztdummy to some degree of success, but I also have a "Wildcard TDM400P REV E/F Board 1" in the Asterisk machine I'm using. I'm not using this card for anything at all, but I'm wondering how to set it

OH323 Trunking
I've successfully got inbound/outbound calling working with our Asterisk using the Asterisk-OH323 channel driver. We are using a parent gatekeeper and the NuFone H323 channel driver would not work with the parent gatekeeper... I'm trying to determine a way to ensure that the line used for outbound calling is always available i.e. like trunking.. >From what I can tell when I place an

Recording problems, reinvites
Hello, I'm wondering if anyone else has been observing problems lately with 1.4.18 and higher releases of asterisk not properly recording calls. When using MixMonitor, the resulting file is only a few bytes long. I think this is because asterisk is doing Native bridging even though MixMonitor should block that. Did something change around the release of 1.4.18 that would have changed

SIPCALLID, but which callid?
Hi, To combine two sources of CDR's I want Asterisk to save the SIP callid for all calls. I know there's a variable that contains the SIP CallID value, but is this the callid value of the incoming INVITE message or the outgoing message? Are they the same? (I've not yet checked a trace, I'm sorry for that). I've tried to read chan_sip, but couldn't find something in the

propagate sip reinvites with directrtpsetup=yes
is there a trick to get asterisk (1.6.2.13) to propagate codec-changing sip reinvites when directrtpsetup=yes? i'm trying to route calls to a gateway without keeping asterisk in the rtp stream. the gateway is first routing the call to a media server. when connecting the call to the downstream carrier a different codec is selected. the reinvite makes it to asterisk but asterisk isn't

DTMF and "breaking through" voice prompts
Has anyone else had problems with users being able to press key tones during a voice prompt? I have a few users complaining that some systems will not recognize key presses during them. using current CVS-HEAD, linksys PAP2 UA's, rfc2833 dtmf mode. G729 licenses
Hi, all!!! What will Asterisk do in the following case: For example, we have 4 licenses, and have 4 simultaneous calls, using G729. Will asterisk allow incoming calls from peer, that can talk G729 and ulaw, and will it force it somehow to use ulaw in this case? All phones there in LAN behind Asterisk prefer GSM codec, so it does transcoding. So, what I mean is will Asterisk fall back to use

Fax relaying with T.38
Hi, We've got endpoints and gateways who have T.38 fax support. We now use SER and Asterisk to do our routing and other functionality, but fax doesn't seem to work. Asterisk complains like this: Sep 9 09:25:45 WARNING[467828746]: RTP Read too short Sep 9 09:25:45 WARNING[467828746]: Asked to transmit frame type 256, while native formats is 32 (read/write = 256/256) With lots of the
