I have a Garmin 78s marine GPS receiver and it stores tracks in GPX format. This is an XML encoded set of points giving longitude, latitude, time and sea depth. Garmin support viewing this via their Garmin Express product, but there only seem to be Windows and Mac versions. I've emailed them and await a reply. In the mean time, does anyone know of any Linux products that will emable me to

At one point in time I wrote a script that converted gpx to kml so I could view them in Google Earth but it's been years since I did that. I don't know if Google Earth for Linux still exists. Monitor Zap Status - Full E-mail...
I've installed Grandstream GPX-2000 phones and have successfully enabled one of my buttons to use Asterisk BLF for an extension. I can tell when this extension is available, is being rung, or is on the line. I'd like to do the same for my Zaptel channels, to be able to see when a line is onhook, ringing or offhook. I tried the following but alas, it doesn't seem to be working:

File upload problem with enctype
Hi All, I''m having a problem with a simple file upload page. I''ve narrowed it down to the enctype attribute of the form tag. Here''s my form: <form action="/app1/gpxdata/upload_gpxfile" method="POST" enctype="multipart/form-data" > <input type="file" size="50" id="gpxfile" /> <input

Thanks for the suggestions. I'd seen gpsbabel, but simply converting the tracks doesn't appear to display them. Another user suggested a downloadable Google Earth, so I'll try that. Failing all else, I've used shell scripting in my day job for the last 18 years (and before that Digital's DCL for the previous 18 years). I'm just trying to avoid reinventing the wheel.

cheap HFC card on Bristuff vs cheap HFC card on i4l vs Fritz ISDN BRI card on CAPI
Hello I have asterisk running in Red Hat 9 with a cheap HFC card on i4l. I have choppy sound problems sometimes, and echo problems often. I am using a 2 port Grandstream ATA, Grandstream BT and a Grandstream GPX-2000 I read that changing to BriStuff will fix the echo problems, but have also read other users say that the only way they solved the echo/choppy sound problems was using a Fritz ISDN

SIP 484 (Early Dial) and International Dialing
I'm building a dialplan for use with a bunch of GXP2000 desk sets. During testing, we had some user issues surrounding the lack of an on-phone dialplan. Users would hit 9 and sit there waiting for a redial tone, and the GXP would time out, sending just '9' to *, which couldn't do much other than spit back a 404 or play pbx-invalid. I turned on the "early dial" option

PAM authentication fails
Hi, I'm fighting all weekend on with auth and pam to authenticate local system users. testuser is such local user and is in passwd and shadow. I want to have local system users (testuser is one of them) and virtual users. The virtual part works fine but I cannot get the local user to connect. Still pam fails finding the user. The suggested password mismatch at the end is, in my eyes,

Problems if GXP-2000 phones and Asterisk are not on the same network
Hi, I have a lot of GXP-2000 phones not registering with Asterisk server. After two days of attempts, it seems that problem is due to the fact that phones and server are not on the sme network. Do you know if this is known issue? -- Domenico Viggiani

cheap HFC card on Bristuff vs cheap HFC card oni4l vs Fritz ISDN BRI card on CAPI
Hi, Bristuff works great with HFC card... your compilation problem may come from your kernel configuration... You should check this doc, at least, for the redhat config : http://www.automated.it/guidetoasterisk.htm Then, installation of Bristuff works like as charm !
