Dial+Macro and Queue
A call comes in and goes into the queue, the queue dials a sip channel using
a macro. The macro plays a set of options to the callee and if the callee
presses 3 it sets MACRO_RESULT=CONTINUE and the macro ends. For some reason
the caller goes back into the queue rather than continueing on in the dial
plan. Why is this, i could have sworn in 1.2 if i set MACRO_RESULT=CONTINUE

Individual rename of list items
I am confused by the logic of renaming:
# Rename individual list items?
Empl<-list(employee="Anna",spouse="Fred")
names(Empl)<-c("empl","spo")
names(Empl)
#[1] "empl" "spo"
# worked like a charm... but
names(Empl[1])<-"newempl"
# no error message, yet ....
names(Empl)
#[1] "empl" "spo"

Vectorizing sample()
I am simulating sickness among a group of families. Part of the task is
to randomly draw who in the family will be sick, randomly drawing from
family ID's where Dad =1, Mom = 2, Kid1 = 3, Kid2 = 4., etc. My census of
Dads is of the form shown below.
Dad_ID Spouse (Y=1;N=0) #Kids #People_Becoming_Sick

Find me macro - calling multiple people to get a hold of one
Hi list,
We're trying to set up a phone number that customers can call to get a hold of anyone of a group of sysadmins (and not their voice mails!). We found the findme example ([1]) that makes the callees press 1 to accept the call. It almost works, but it doesn't work correctly when one of the callees, the sysadmins, hangs up after accepting the call.
We're using this

[MACRO-SCREEN] and MACRO_RESULT
I am following the example at http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/Asterisk+tips+findme but I find that no matter what, the call is connected. Can anyone confirm that config is working for them? Any suggestions appreciated.
I need to transfer calls to a list of cell phones, ring all of them, allow them to screen the call, connect the call to the first number that accepts the call, and allow

Form field naming semantics question
Hi,
I have a question today regarding how the various form elements in
_form.rhtml are named.
I understand that for a database table "persons" with a column headed by
"name", then in _form.rhtml it will probably be like:
<p><label for="person_name">Name><br/>
<%= text_field ''person'', ''name''

Call Screen Macro Not Exiting when call rejected
This is a followup to the posting earlier about Hunt Groups with Call
Screening.
I have implemented the following macro and for some reason the Macro does
not exit and continue the context it was called from when the called party
rejects the call - It always drops through to the NoOp at the end and
connects the call.
Below are two examples of the dial commands I am using to call the macro.

Problems using Background within a macro on V 1.4
Hi List
I have had a look at the various posts on this and seem to be more confused
than ever - but then again that's not hard ;-)
I am using Version 1.4.33.1 build from the Debian "lenny" distros
I am trying to implement a simple screening

Creating unique code
Hello,
I need some help in creating a new variable. I need to create a 'couple identifier', which gives a unique code for every couple/triple/... in a household. So, I can identify couples. To do this, I should use 4 variables:
* SERIAL = a unique numeric code for each household
* PERNUM = a unique numeric code for each person
* SPLOC = the numeric code of the spouse in the

Single-table inheritance and eager loading
I have a people table with four types of people: clients, spouses,
children, and others all setup using single-table inheritance with a
foreign key back to a household record.
A Household has_one client and spouse, and has_many children and
others. I want to use a single "Household.find(@session
[:household_id], :include => [:client, :spouse, :children, :others])"

just don''t ''get'' "has one" and "belongs to one"
Well, I understand what they do and how, I just don''t get why!
It seems to me that any time you would have this relationship between
two tables...they should be one table! Agile Rails book gives what
seems to me to be a lame example for this. They use the example of an
"invoice" and an "order". An invoice belongs to an order and an order
has one invoice. Seems

spouse-friendly spa-3000 pstn interface
This post is simply documenting a spouse-friendly way of using the
spa-3000 as both a fxs and fxo port for basic soho environments in
the US, allowing asterisk to participate as needed/wanted.
All home phones are connected _only_ to the spa-3000 fxs port.
The incoming home pstn line is connected _only_ to the spa-3000
fxo port.

efficient list indexing
Hello everyone,
I need some help with lists inside lists (a good way to emulate a struct)\
Assume that there is a small list called fred:
fred <- list(happy = 1:10, name = "squash")
and a big list called bigfred that includes fred list 5 times
bigfred <- rep(fred,5)
Is it possible somehow to index all these sublists(fred) inside bigfred with a
more direct way like this:

accepting a call, macros, and key presses.
Hello,
I am using macros to give the ability to a call-receiver to 'accept' a
call. However, any keypress connects the caller.
Anyone have any suggestions about how to re-engineer this so that the
receiver can deny the call, or press other keys to do other actions,
without connecting to the user?
Thanks,

Findme problem
Greetings all,
I've been working on having Asterisk put a call through to two different numbers, and give the call to the first one that acknowledges by pressing the 1 key. I found an example on the wiki, but I can't get it working.
When I answer the call I hear the message telling me to press 1 to connect, and as soon as the message is done, the call is connected. In other words, it

SendDTMF() behaves strangely
Hi, everybody:
As part of a paging macro I'm using SendDTMF to send digits to the
called party.
The section looks like this:
exten => s,1,Wait(0.5)
exten => s,n,SendDTMF(9531290)
exten => s,n,Wait(1.0)
exten => s,n,Set(MACRO_RESULT=CONTINUE)
To test I direct the call to a live extension just to hear what's
happening -- what actually happens is that only the 9 is sent, and

X100P outbound only (Don't answer)
I tried implementing my * and it didn't pass the spouse factor at this
time. I wanted to hook it up for outbound only at this point to get a
better handle on the dial plans and the echo problem.
I thought this might have been done before as a natural part of testing
- but maybe not.
In wcfxo.c I found this:

understanding what h extension does
I am trying to make a dialplan that when I dial 90 I can go round a
whole set of extensions and leave them a short message, hangup and go
on the next one.
I use the M facility of dial, with something like this
[messages]
exten => 90,n(calcnextchan),Set(DIALCHAN=...)
exten => 90,n,Dial(${DIALCHAN},30,M(domessage))
exten => 90,n,Goto(calcnextchan)
