When fax is detected, the fax extension is executed and dial the extension of the HT486 device (firmware 1.0.5.22). Somehow sending fax out working well. In the mailing lists, i notice some are using HT286 and it work. Could someone share

HT 486
Does anyone know if the HandyTone 486 has the option to turn the two ethernet ports into either a switch/hub, or does it have to do NAT ? Thank you, Steve Maroney

spandsp 0.0.3 RxFax fax reception crashes bristuffed asterisk 1.2.13
Hi Last month, people reported a crash with Asterisk 1.2.13 and spandsp-0.0.3 when receiving a fax using fax detection. Today I've tried 1.2.14 with the latest spandsp 0.0.3pre27 and with the snapshots for app_rxfax.c and app_txfax.c. The problem still happens. Has anyone found how to resolve this issue? I tried emailing Steve Underwood (with crash backtrace) but he hasn't

Asterisk Faxing Support
Asterisk 1.2 has no support of t.38 whatsoever, the call will drop before t.38 is ever utilised, not even pass-thru. 1.4 Adds support for T.38 pass through only and no other sort of faxing, the endpoint must support T.38 and you must send your call to a T.38 gateway and you must not use NAT anywhere in your network and you must enable re-invites which could cause CDRs not to reflect the true

txfax not working with spandsp
the attached log with verbose=6 and debug=6 refers. we've got a sangoma A104 (no hwec) with PRI ports 1 & 3 loopbacked to each other. we're trying to have txfax send out on one of those pri ports with rxfax listening on the other side, hence having asterisk send a fax to itself. we however have bad, and i mean really bad (<10%) success rates. we're currently using asterisk

How can I debug spandsp?
Hi, I'm trying to use the spandsp fax-back facility and despite I can send and receive faxes, this is not working fine. I would like to get a debug of what is going on. I am using the flag debug, but I don't know if txfax is generating any log information or where it is saving it. I just don't find anything. My line in extensions.conf is: exten =>

TXFax/RXFax/AGX-Addons/SpanDSP Crashing
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi all, anyone else seen RX/TXFax crashing Asterisk on latest Asterisk SVN? I've now seen it on two machines I tried to set up - one it seems because the tiff file was malformed, but the other is doing: tiff -> tx fax -> zaptel -> pstn -> ddi -> zaptel -> rx fax -> tiff The above crashes every time. If no one else has

quadbri and spandsp
Hello, I have bought a targeta quadbri. I want to realize a PBX server to send and to receive fax on lines BRI. I have installed asterisk and the drivers of quadbri (bristuff_0.2.0-RC7b). I downloaded and installed the module spandsp-0.0.2pre10 When i send a fax from the fax machine to asterisk, the application rx_fax saves the fax in a file on the hard disk. The problem comes when I try to send a

SoftFAX/spandsp - txfax
Hi Steve and all, 1. Faxing from asterisk back to the same asterisk (from one Zap channel to another) doesn't work for us. Txfax called with the 'caller' parameter issues CED, while the receiving side needs CNG in order to switch to fax extension with rxfax. 2. This is probably the reason why J2 and our UC don't recognize incoming fax. Thank you. Alex Zarubin Webley Systems

Re: SpanDSP TXFax and multipage faxes problems (aditional info)
OK I see the ponit (although I never said that second page is interrupted - I said that in some combinations of resolutions and TIFF options receiving fax "spits" another blank sheet of paper beside the clearly received first page). I have read someware (some faxing tutuorial) that there is some kind of control code (6 EOLs I belive) that should be in TIFFs between pages and that

Re: SpanDSP TXFax and multipage faxes problems (aditional info)
Thanks for the information Lee ! Still, something is still strange to me, since this two Panasonic Fax machines are receiving at least 20 multi-paged faxes a day (they are in same office as both Asterisk boxes, and me :) ). Beside that, POTS lines in those two faxes are from same PSTN switch as line in X100P in one of Asterisk boxes, and the ISDN PRI lines in other Asterisk box is from same PSTN

spandsp as T.38 termination?
It seems that Spandsp has everything in it (when you include rxfax and txfax) to be a T.38 termination when used with Asterisk 1.4? And if so, what version of Spandsp? What version of IAXModem (so I don't have to also deal with T38Modem)?

spandsp with TDM fxo card?
Has anyone made spandsp to work with a digium tdm fxo card? I finally got the rxfax and txfax modules to compile, the spandsp lib installed (and in the libpath), and now receive: -- Starting simple switch on 'Zap/1-1' -- Executing RxFAX("Zap/1-1", "/var/fax.tif") in new stack -- Hungup 'Zap/1-1' I've tried to adjust rxgain/txgain in

Bizarre Echo Problem
Before I relate the actual problem, some context. Callcentre environment, a few users testing a new digital dialer... 1. Agents are using Grandstream ATA HT486 and a small analogue dialpad with a headset. 2. SIP connection to Asterisk-1.2b1 3. IAX2 connection to ITSP provider. The call is initially set up in the following way. 1. Agent calls into a meetme conference room and subseqently stays

No matter which version of SpanDSP I use, with which version of libtiff, Asterisk, ... I simply cannot send faxes. I can receive faxes *perfectly* (sending from standard fax macine on POTS) into tiff file (via Digium analogue card),

Adduser help
at http://wiki.openpbx.org/tiki-index.php?page=Easy+route+to+building+OpenPBX.org there is the following adduser command: adduser --no-create-home --ingroup openpbx --disabled-password --disabled-login openpbx This does NOT seem to be the right format for Centos. So far, using man, I have come up with; adduser -M -g openpbx What else do I need?

libtiff 3.6.1 and Asterisk spandsp
Per: http://soft-switch.org/spandsp_faq/ar01s07.html FAXing with spandsp keeps giving me core dumps. Its crap, isn't it? Actually the crap in this case is probably libtiff. Versions 3.5.7 and 3.6.0 seem reliable. The FAX image handling in version 3.6.1 is broken. All the core dump problems I have investigated turned out to be due to a very old version of libtiff, or version 3.6.1. I am
