Optus Australia Multiline SHDSL service
Hi,
I am currently trying to find a replacement for a dinosaur PBX and want
to replace it with a VoIP solution.
We have just moved our lines over to an Optus Multiline from a Telstra
ISDN Onramp 30 service with 100 lines.
My question for you good people is what sort of hardware do I need to
interface Asterix into the Optus Multiline? The Optus service is
terminated in my office to a SHDSL

Oz ISDN
In Australia, Telstra, the local telco provides isdn modem for isdn
connection. The modem has 2 analogue telephone jacks and a serial port
for connection to dialup internet.
My question is that will it be possible to use Zaptel TDM02B to connect
to the analogue jack instead of getting a fritz card to do the
telephony. Will there be less feature if doing so?

X100P - Busydetect / calls being disconnected - Australia; tip.
Hi All,
This isn't really a question, but it's an issue I experienced that was
driving me crazy for a few days, so I thought it might be good for the
archives.
Basically what was happening was everytime a particular customer called
(long distance), the line would disconnect immediately after answering.
I thought it might have been the phone, so I swapped the phone with
another - still

tuning an x100p in Australia for echo cancellation
I have an x100p which suffers from echo (no surprise there apparantly
:), and a few of the things I've read about tuning out echo say the
first thing to get right is the tx and rx gain, and for that you need a
few different types of test lines from the telco (Telstra, Optus,
whatever). Does anyone have any numbers in Australia for such lines? I
think they just need to send out a tone of a

Echo/Milliwatt Test Numbers in Oz ?
Is anyone aware of an milliwat/echo test number for telstra or similar?
I want to fiddle a bit with gains but can't seem to get a hold of a
miliwatt test number
Im aware of a number they distribute for line quality testing for modems
for BigPond, but I can't track it down ....

Country numbering plan resources
Is there any good free / accurate online resources with detailed country
numbering plans? Failing that let's get something running ourselves.
I was also thinking maybe people present could contribute some information on
this list for now. The countries I am after are below.
To start this off I will provide the information for Australia +61 and New
Zealand +64.

incoming calls dropout on PRI over TE110p
I am running Asterisk 1.0.9 and have been running all my calls through a VSP over a IAX2 trunk however we have recently purchased and connected a TE110p to a PRI ( E1 with 16 voice channels ) through Optus. I can make outgoing calls via it fine, however incoming calls are dropped after a few seconds ( or as soon as a command like Playback, or the call is picked up if forwarded to a SIP

Issues starting RStudio Server and release file expiration under Debian (Jessie)
Hi! I am a new user of Debian and am having an issue loading RStudio Server, which may or may not be related to a previous 'Release file expiration error' when trying to perform apt-get update prior to installing r-base into my remote Debian system.
E: Release file for http://mirror.optus.net/debian/dists/jessie-updates/InRelease is expired (invalid since 13d 17h 49min 2s). Updates for

SMS to fixed phone line
Telstra (Australian Telco) has recently introduced a feature to allow
the sending of SMS direct to fixed analogue lines, with an appropriate
handset.
As best as I can figure out, this appears to use CID type signalling, or
at least on a line that otherwise has no CID on it, CID is sent, but
with a standard modem I can only receive the date, time, and phone
number (eg normal CID info).
After that
