Centos kernel 34 vs. 42?
Hi list! I read the trixbox anouncement that they downgraded to kernel version 34 to get rid of some audio problems I'm not running trixbox but normal Centos 4 with asterisk installed. I tried to find some further info on this but couldn't find any. Do audio problems occur with normal Centos and the latest kernel version too? (In other words, should every centos user downgrade??)

How to clear trixbox configuration
Hello all, To test some configs i forgot the trixbox web config (freepbx) and i made changes directly in asterisk config files (sip.conf, extensions.conf, etc). Result: asterisk is working ok but the the web config is totaly confused and, if i made a change via freepbx this not works ok. Only now i know that this changes will be made in "file_custom.conf"... problem of newbie... :). I

Summary of "Trixbox vs. custom install"
Hello everybody. First of all thanks to all the people giving their opinion on the subject I proposed: "Trixbox vs. custom install". You've all been very helpful. I try to summarize what has emerged from the various messages. Forgive me if I miss or forget something or if I simplify too much some of your messages... - Elman Efendiyev says that you should install from sources if

Skinny bug / missing feature, who is the maintainer?
Hi List! I'm trying to get the Kirk IP600 (DECT Wireless phones) to work with * using the Skinny protocol (chan_sccp doesn't work, the phones do not register and I don't know how to debug this). Basically the phones are able to place calls but not to receive calls. The extension is ringing for the calling party but the handsets do not ring. By putting the IP600 in debug mode and

Trixbox maunual configuration
I love the added apps installed with trixbox, ARI, Web-Meetme, FOP, and Reports are great. FreePBX on the other hand, is nearly impossible to do everything with. Trying to edit the configs manually proves impossible due to the excessive use of includes and macros. It is kind of like watching someone try to bite their own ear off. Has anybody tried to wipe all the configs clean and program the

How Is Administrator Treated?
I have a couple of Samba 2.2 servers, in different locations, configured as NT Domain Controllers, but I'm experiencing some problems with logging on to the domains as Administrator in order to perform some administration tasks, such as configuring antivirus software on workstations. I won't go into the details here; I think the basic problem is my lack of understanding of how the

Trixbox vs. Custom install
Hello, I'm following the thread "Asterisk@Now vs Trixbox", and I have a similar question: if someone is going to install Asterisk, FreePBX and A2Billing, should you advice him/her to use Trixbox ... or a custom "step by step" installation on a distribution of his/her choice? Thanks Stefano

Rolled Distro?
Hi folks, I've been a trixbox user for a few years now but I'm thinking about jumping ship. Trixbox is great, but it's missing two features out of the box which are really important to me: outbound faxing (hylafax) and imap voicemail. I see no indication that they will be included anytime in the near future, so I have a choice to make - I've looked around at Elastix,

Building a System.
So, people have recommended building a system from scratch, start with a CentOS base and installing asterisk and all of the other utilities. I've only used Trixbox for my business system. I'm wondering what surprises I'd run into. Right now, I know I'd need the OS, Asterisk, something like FreePBX, I have a x100p card so I'd need Zaptel, does that come with asterisk?

Thanks in advance, PS.

Recommended Web Interface
I'm currently reviewing the latest release of FreePBX (formerly known as Asterisk@Home). Do either of you know whether FreePBX is robust enough to handle multiple clients, or have any recommendations on front-end Web interface to manage client config & provide clients access to manage their level of access (similar to how Vonage, Teliax, and others provide client access to their web

Account codes in CDR
Greetings list... I have a Trixbox based Asterisk system and would like to implement a loose call accounting system. The system is built on Trixbox version 2.2.8 with Asterisk 1.2.24 and FreePBX 2.3.1. Because there are a couple thousand existing account codes for various projects, and new account codes are created by the accounting dept. I cannot create pin sets using the add on module included
